Yeah, I feel ya on that. Basic skills, and Meditation is actually just awful. 1 kat Iai is flat superior due to its upgrades, and if you don't like the normal version, there's the sprint version and the multi-hit version.

I dunno. People recommend The Shrike but I honestly feel like it's one of the worst parries in the game. It's easy to do, but there's no follow up ability, and the animation takes so long that it feels awkward trying to do anything fancy after it. Compare it to Haze where it completes fast enough to ki-pulse into a fully charged Iai, then either Iai the enemy again or ground stab them.

Yeah, God of Wind is the single best thing in the game and every weapon suffers for not having a timing based ability like it. My combos with 1kat are usually more about ki-pulse dodging and doing normal attacks instead of using the kick, though.

Spear low stance/living weapon is by far the most flashy move set in the game it's borderline hilarious. A weapon known for positioning and poking turns into a kung fu weapon where you're jumping and flipping about when you give it a fancy aura.

Don't worry about it in the slightest, my dude. There are items you can buy to reset stat and skill points and you get a few over the course of the game anyway. Play around with whatever you want.

And to be honest, you're gonna want to put some points in each weapon's tree anyway to get the passives, since they're, well, passive. The health bonuses from axe, for example, are permanent stat bonuses that stay with you no matter what weapon you're using.

Alright, thanks for the tips. One more question: is there anything that reduces how long you're paralyzed for? I was watching someone fight her and he would rarely get paralyzed when hit by that purple attack and when he did get hit he would be paralyzed for <1 second. When I get hit I'm paralyzed for a while and often times she just chains the paralyzing attack until I'm dead. In those cases I don't even have a chance to dodge the subsequent attacks.

Can I ask why? I saw other people complaining about him so I was expecting to need at least a few tries. Was really surprised at how easy a time I had. He moves extremely slow, his attacks are easy to dodge, and he has a big ass long body that you can attack. He barely even does any damage with his pincer attack. All you have to worry about is his slam and his paralyzing cloud. Maybe I'm overlevelled or something? I've been doing all the side missions so I fought him at level 40.

I found him hard until I learned his moves and realized that I can sort of control him by removing all the youkai realm circles on the ground, as he'll usually do his lightning move if there are no circles for him to stand in to regen his ki. After I figured out the pattern, though, I beat him on my second try.

Actually, I consider Nue to be the boss of that level, because fake-Muneshige was so easy. I beat him first try handily without having to use any elixirs.

Real Muneshige, on the other hand, took me 10 tries to beat, then another 5 tries to beat the second time.
