Kind of new to the mod scene, never installed a full overhaul. STCoP and AO are very similar. STCoP has more variants of each weapon, AO has more stuff like a minigun. STCoP has better models, but AO has better optics. Both have weapon distribution issues where every bandit is vomitting auto-shotguns and top of the line assault rifles. Both have silly default damage values that make your guns feel like peashooters.
OWR is what it says on the tin, reskinned vanilla.
WG is STCoP plus crappy WW2 weapons, but it fixes damage and the weapon distribution. Except for Monolith who have crap gear for no reason.

Is it possible to modify a config file in CoC to make it so that looting a corpse gives the possibility to find a stash location again like it does in SoC? Right now it seems very rare to get it as a reward from doing a mission or pointing a gun at a wounded enemy, but I'd like it to be a bit more common.

Everything seems to be working more or less fine right now, though quite a bit of items don't have inventory icons but I can live with that as long as the game actually works. Playing SGM 2.2 Lost Soul, and I get a crash about 0.5 seconds after I check a dead body as part of the Red Forest questline.
Am I right in believing that it's some weather that's supposed to trigger, but isn't working as intended?
I had a similar problem with the weather in Zaton, and the game would crash as soon as an Eclipse occurred.

In Zaton, the fix was easy enough, I just disabled Eclipses from the options menu, but what can I do now? Or can I just skip the quest in Red Forest without missing anything of value?

if it is not there then you probably ran the optimization.bat file which deletes these weather effects files. but the script needs it.

Right now I'm working on using an item to disassemble weapons. You would get spare parts depending on the weapon and its condition. The parts will be split into the same categories as the CoM repair kits (pistol, shotgun, small bore rifle, large bore rifle), and those parts would only be usable with the repair kit of the same category.

Also, you'll be able to use knives (hopefully) to cut apart outfits for spare cloth or whatever. If not knives, then a separate small tool (swiss army knife maybe).

I agree with the not being able to find an outfit thing, just figured in case anyone wanted to add a mod that lets you pull damaged outfits off enemies.

The condition thing: I figure the better the condition of the disassembled weapon is, the more spare parts you get, based on a slight RNG. Probably max of 4 or 5. Each one would just give a bonus equal to or slightly better than the other parts you could use, like weapon greases and shit. Nothing major.

Another idea was to try to do a field modification mod where you can modify your weapons using a kit and very specific rare parts that you could get from disassembling weapons. For example, if you wanted to change the caliber of your AK to 5.56, you'd have to get lucky disassembling a 5.56 rifle in decent condition and you might get a "5.56 rifle barrel" item as a spare part.

I recommend turning the torch angle down to around 45 max, at 60 degrees, it's a fucking floodlight. Walk through Pripyat at night with your Monolith bros and it looks like cars driving down the road with their high beams on.

Also, just add another 0 to the end of the mutant decay time.

The problem for me is that trailer at least looks generic as fuck. Stripped of all soul and personality.
They didn't translate the unique atmosphere of Roadside Picnic to a more Western setting, it looks like they stripped it all out in order to reach a wider mass-appeal (probably why they decided to fill the diversity quota as well). It honestly doesn't look very different from Heroes or Lost or similar schlock from the trailer. Except this is one of those low-budged ones that are even worse and are entirely forgettable. True Blood? Grimm?

I *might* give it a shot and watch a few episodes at least, there's about a one in a thousand chance the trailer is just awful and the show itself has something of value.

All the trader schemes were redone in 1.0d. All the barman types share a scheme named barman that buys only consumables, mutant parts and the like. Sid, Skinflint, and someone else I forget use a scheme called trasher that let's them buy anything including trash aka everyday items with no use like coins and shovels for decent money. Stalkers are the only others who will buy trash, for less than trasher traders.

Sid's prices are expensive, don't buy from him if you can help it. Pack of old meat, best deal for food in CoM, is 1131 or 1311 at Sid and 961 at any of the barman traders.

Take a look at configs/misc/trade. One of the files in there whose name I forget defines the the trasher and barman schemes along with all the others.

Weapons not being a source of money is kind of the point of that economy I think. Ammo sells for decent money but is itself scarce and valuable. Only reliable source of decent money is to do tasks which the game has plenty of.

The DrX quests are better and have more variety than default CoC but a bit buggy in some cases due to being outdated and don't allow cancellation for eg. Major annoyance is that a task give can be changed into a squad member where they can't talk to you anymore. Wish they'd just merge them into CoC.

Roadside Picnic is a way more interesting setting than Stalker, and no PC game will ever be able to do it justice. No the best source of money in Misery is mutant parts, which the game heaps upon you in spades. Misery does many things right but its outsize emphasis on mutant hunting and mechanic tweaks that basically remove artifact hunting from the game is by far its biggest failure.

Really irritates me to no end that actually rare items like artifacts are worth piss but my heap of snork dicks and pig hides will usually snag me 20k RU.

I mean I was excited for Cossacks 3 which had been worked on for years and even then the game came out unfinished. Stalker has never been an example of a polished game but I still can't help but think after Cossacks 3 that even if they did have a good team if the game would even be any good and if it would even be less buggy than SoC on launch.

I figure A-Life (or whatever they use for this part) could plugin to pretty much any engine so they could either use a preexisting engine like UE4 or Cryengine or they could make their own again. Or they could license 4A's engine. I don't know what kinds of limitations 4A's engine has. It's similar to X-Ray if you look at the files and folders but the Metro games aren't a good example of showing off how it could handle an open world without much overt scripting.

The call is for mostly textures/graphics for that level. The game always makes use of 2/3gb (Depending on if you have that memory change applied). But even on maximum I don't hit 900mb. That would easily throw it over 3/4gb which would lead to a crash for me. On maximum, it usually puts me up to 600-700 which is still enough for a crash after a few level changes.

I usually see 60-400mb but never much more than that. The only exception is Truck Cemetery, which is already confirmed to have a buggy memleak issue.

Yep.. like I said, regular AMK works but I wanted different gun models and maybe some extra visual mods. Installing LURK animations on top of plain AMK breaks the game.. um, if it helps then when I had AMK Autumn installed it wouldnt even launch the game until I added noprefetch and nointro to the launcher, but then on the last stage of loading into a game or starting a new one, it crashes.
