The mutants all refer to postprocess_rad, which is a small bit of text in postprocess.ltx. I already have the "No radiation/ Psy VFX mod" on, and all that does is disable the reference in the radiation zone file to postprocess_rad.

Sooooo I'll try commenting out the fields in postprocess_rad and see if that doesn't break the game:

How do i get the minimap to show up if i installed the nano hud?

Is doctorx storylines included? If yes does it need storymode enabled or not?

and the ''squads shown on pda'' crashed CoM with the script file, even if its detached from the show health bars option.

Dynamic factions is kinda interesting.
Desolation/More Mutants are a bit silly, you end up with Pseudogiants in Cordon.
Questlines doesn't use the latest tasking system which makes it a pain in the neck. It prpbably has a better main quest, but not knowing objectives ahead of time and every rescue mission being broken annoyed me too much.

I've never played CoM, but that sounds cool. A bonfire/ink ribbon system would be a lot less frustrating than iron man mode. I like that it's more tense, but most of the things that kill you in iron man feel like they're mostly out of your control.

Can you still make quicksaves with campfire saves? While I like the idea of enforcing some kind of penalty for dying, the game is too buggy to not have the ability to save and reload at a whim.

You can use any save system you want, including using ONLY campfire saves. Even with just campfire saves, the game still autosaves at level transitions.

CoM has grown on me even though I haven't made virtually any progress. The biggest thing was getting the HUD the way I like it and tweaking all the same shit I tweaked in CoC (slower radiation damage to health, no goofy monsters, no ammo count on HUD, some shit I forgot etc).

yes, campfire saves can be enabled in the CoM options. you can light campfires with firestarter kits. you can't just save and quit anywhere though, so be careful what you ask for.

xMod, a mod that sits on top of CoM has a different save system in it: you save using a special artifact you start with. each save uses up some of its charge (shown by item use dots like on vodka or psy-block) and the artifact recharges slowly over time. but loading also eats up charge; if you load on death it eats a little more charge. if you try to load with insufficient charge, you die immediately and are forced to go back to an earlier save.

slightly more flexible than CoM's campfire saves in that you can save anywhere, but more inflexible in that you have to ration your saves.

My take on it is that the repair kit would do tiny amounts of repair -- basically covering the condition % recovered as covering dirt, fouling, etc.

Anything more than that would require grease, solvent, oil, etc. to do more. And it would only work for light damage, probably <10%, to, again, cover light wear and dirt. Anything more than that would require an actual repair kit, with parts, rather than just simple cleaning tools.

I think between WG and Warfare you could get this effect. WG has low-ranked guys spawn with shit equipment and Warfare has settings that delay deployment of experts based on some behind-the-scenes numbers.

You'll be seeing WW2 guns and shotguns until you're sick of it, but hobo phase will last much longer. At least until you start killing mercs. Or buy stuff from Nimble.

Also while SHOC explicitly listed a few other damage-reduction values, like explosive protection, said values were still in CS and COP code and outfit enhancements. The Impenetrable upgrades affect that as well as the likelihood you'll bleed from an attack and the damage from a melee attack, IIRC and if I'm reading it right.

See where it says scripts\name-of-file? These are not the same underlying error. attempt to call a nil value is a generic problem, the script and line is important.

Go look at line 433 of your gamedata/scripts/xr_logic.script. That line is blank in vanilla 1.4.22 so one of your mods has installed a new version of that file.

There are spawn ratios for mutants and stalkers in the game menu. Turn them down. Or install DrX's Desolation mod to change up the spawns.

Default CoC respawn time is now very low - 15 mins, I think. So shit can be fast and furious in some spots where you walk away for a little bit and come back to a fully repopulated broken railway bridge for eg. DrX ups that back to the day it used to be, but also changes the number of spawns and type of spawns. CoC only spawns certain mutants at night or underground - the harder ones, basically. DrX brings them back, but in lower numbers.

Desolation mod is a good alternative if you want a change from CoC's defaults.

It's more of general thing. You want to keep configs away from scripts. Ideally script should only execute commands without containing any info.
Carrying stuff to external source also allows to manage it better.

Im having a blast playing CoM+STCoP+AO, campfires, no hud full autism mode. I have a few concerns though. It seems like some mutants are way spongier than in previous builds. Snorks are eating 6-10 centermass 5.45 AP rounds on the reg. Its over the top considering 15 AP rounds sell for 4500RU. Similarly its taking 4-6 .45 DU rounds to put down pseudodogs.
I don't mind the price gouging since realistically AP ammo would be in high demand in the zone, but if I shell out 30k for good dope I expect it to be lethal. The worst was the Giant in the Lab16 tunnel. It was still charging after stepping on 2 c4 IEDS, 3 40mm grenades to the face, and 2 pineapple nades. I had run completely out of ammo by that point, and the only way I got through that part was by rolling a fuel drum from the start of the level and riged it with c4. I don't even wanna think about chimeras at this point.

Yeah. I was thinking about the armor kits from WoW. For the sake of difficulty however, might want to make it a timed consumable. Could make it so it gives you the bonus while in your inventory(kinda like charms from various arpgs), and it has a small durability, but that's a lot of extra work.

Ey yup, COM jack up the resistance of most mutant by a fuck ton. For example, pseudogiant have 0.015 bullet immunity and 0.05 explosion immunity.

Might want to consider changing the damage values for mutants then. I've changed the values for other stalkers in my game, but I didn't see a similar section or file for mutants so they're still pretty much stock.

It works for me because mutants are a decent change of pace, and most can be killed with some fancy footwork and shanking.

Yeah way too much work. The downside would be you'd have to use a sewing kit to make it, not to mention you'd have to hunt a few boars and get lucky enough to actually get their pelts in the first place.

I wouldn't even bother trying to mod this, but I'd be cool with armor damage possibly resulting in the loss or damage of your armor slot add-ons.

I actually don't mind that the rarer mutants are tougher. But beefing up trash mobs like snorks and pseudo dogs just makes everything needlessly harsh. they should be glassier if anything. Is it safe to edit their health values? I tried modding trader values once and it corrupted my saves.
