I simply can't comprehend how outstandingly well-made The Witcher 3 is. It's so rare (almost unheard of) for me to get emotionally invested in games, yet the Witcher keeps surprising and repeatedly pushes me to laughter as well as tears.

It's simply short of a marvel & I strongly doubt that any game I play the during the following 30 years will topple this.

Personally I dropped it after around 7 hours, thinking that the combat was retarded. Literally put down the controller and uninstalled. Picked it up ~a month later, because my autism won't let me drop entertainment, and decided to bite down & I'm very happy that I did. It switched quickly to torable, you just need to figure out the combat.
Once you get the hang of the combat, you're in for one hellova ride, son.
I was about 30 hours in when it dawned on me just how awesome this game is.

Someone help me out here with a question about what the Mirrors guy tells you when you meet him below the willow at the beginning.

He says Olgierd refuses payment for being made a noble and loved by all.

Then he says the terms state that Olgierd doesn't have to pay shit until he's been granted three wishes, which have to be fullfilled by someone other than the Mirror man and that he wants Geralt to go with him to hear Olgierd out about his three wishes.

How the fuck does that make any sense? If he hasn't had his three wishes yet, then why is Mirror man talking about betrayal? He's not due his payment then, surely?

Can someone explain this to me without spoilers? Or should I just keep playing and it'll all resolve? I'm just confused because Geralt acts like he understood everything perfectly, but I'm confused as fuck.

Higher VRAM will allow for better textures and bigger resolutions, although the latter won't matter much since a 1060 isn't going to have the horsepower to handle games at higher than 1080 or 1440p with decent framerate. I'm not sure why they couldn't just do a normal 4 GB version which is the standard minimum in this day and age

Skyrim is all about quantity over quality while TW3 is all about attention to detail and making every quest and story unique

Take crafting for example. In Skyrim you level up, select a perk in the crafting tree and boom, you can now work with dwarven metal, or dragon bones, or whatever. In TW3 you have to travel all across the map following the story of some dead witcher or bandit or legendary blacksmith. There's more and better writing involved in the quests for Grandmaster gear in TW3 than in the entire main quest in Skyrim

Well, it's not that I like him as a person, it's more about the circumstances in TW3 and how I play Geralt. Nilfgaardians are invaders, them being more cultured and more advanced as society doesn't give them the right to go and take the lands that don't belong to them. In that regard, Radovid is the defender of the North. I also dislike Emhyr quite a lot and prefer seeing him beat by a weaker opponent.

The second and more important reason why I prefer letting Radovid win the war is the way I play Geralt. I play him as a person that only cares about his few friends and loved ones, and he would do anything for them, but I don't see him as someone who gives a fuck about the fate of the world. I played him as neutral in TW1, I played him as not caring for either Roche or Iorveth's agenda in TW2 and I try to keep playing him as someone that tries not to take sides in matters that don't directly implicate him in TW3. Also, I heavily dislike the way Reasons of State was handled. I don't see why Geralt would risk going after Radovid, needlessly putting his life in danger for political ambitions of others in the moments when Ciri needs him most and when the final battle with the Wild Hunt is pending. Also if you don't do the plot, Dijkstra, Roche, Ves and Thaler all live, although I assume they are pretty miserable.

Also a final reason is that I like the idea of North going to hell under Radovid while Geralt rides into the sunset with his waifu. it adds a fitting grittiness to the world.

Yeah, I know that's how wars work, it doesn't mean I have to like it. And imo it doesn't justify going and forcing other people to live your way, because it's better for them. Common Northerners clearly see Nilfgaardians as unwanted foreigners and no one likes strangers coming to their house and telling them what to do and how to live. The north is in shambles anyway much to the actions of Nilfgaardians in TW2. They were the ones that made it ripe for invasion and I like the idea of North defending itself once more. I'm not saying they are, Radovid is a piece of shit, no denying there, but he is a Northerner and manages to push of foreign invaders although it is a Pyrrhic victory for the people of the North. However, Radovid is also an invader in Kaedwen, Temeria and Aedirn and once a common enemy is defeated and due to his brutal persecutions, I expect the people will rebel against him too even though, based on some random NPC chatter and the way random people treat elves, mages and other persecuted minorities, he seems to at least partially have the support of the common peasantry and is even seen as a hero by some.

It's just that none of that is any concern for my Geralt. Wars will never stop, it's just how people are, it's not up to Geralt to change that and like I said, I find the grittiness of Radovid's ending and his victory coming at a high cost for the regular folk somehow fitting for TW world. Should I do the DLCs before I continue? Will I get more allies for the Brothers in Arms quests? Will initiating the climax completely end the game or does it keep going, Elder Scrolls style, after you're done? It doesn't seem balanced for me to do them now since I'm still only level 25.

You still have a decent chunk of game left, I assume you just completed the Uma stuff. I would recommend doing both DLC after the main story is done. HoS is a separate story, it doesn't affect the main quest in any way, you can do it during or after, but B&W should absolutely be played after the main story as some of your decisions transfer(minor waifu stuff).
