By playing. It sounds like stupid advice but no matter how many videos you watch or controllers you change you need to keep playing for you to get better.
The thing about this game is that there's no instant gratification. Unlike other AAA games, you can be kinda decent straight away and feel good about yourself. For this game, it'll make you shit bricks until you can actually do anything right. I'm no pro or anything, I've only been playing the open beta, but even I can see that there's a steep learning curve that most other games nowadays have gotten rid of to appease casuls. Just keep playing and you'll ge there. Do the advanced tutorial, look at the basic/advanced vids for each hero, and you'll be fine.

Go to the main menu, go to How to play, then go to the practice duel with lvl 0 bots (they don't attack)
