You can, just takes some practice. Practice is very useful and good in this game. The bots aren't terrible either so you can play at the lower difficulties and still have a challenge.

I'm not sure if it's during the current swing, but there feels like there is a window where you can change directions and where you can't.

You definitely can't after you press the button to attack, and if you change inputs too quickly it'll take the last one before you press which can be somewhere you didn't intend to aim

If you notice someone being a guard break spammer just sit there, block all their hits, and keep your finger on the middle mouse button (controller fags leave) and just counter them all and get infinite free hits, after countering 3 guard breaks in a row they'll get spooked as fuck and mess up and you end their lives.

The Guard Stances are just bad at changing it feels like. I sometimes have it get "stuck" when using a controller and rolling into inputs instead of tapping.
It feels especially noticeable when going from a Side to Top or vice versa.

You might be hitting the button, and then changing Stance. It's shitty habit I've had to correct and can catch you when using lots of Light Attacks

Me too. Though a lot of moves are context sensitive it would be tough to show how you're failing them.
At least an indicator or audio cue when you fuck up an attack chain would be nice though.

As a Warlord, how do i abuse out of stamina people better? Once they get there i try and keep pressuring them, but everything gets blocked/parried other then a light or two. Do i just need to git gud at feints?

Dominion is a load of shit. Always lose despite topping the chart in my team. Elimination is a lot more representative of teamwork.

Well... yeah. This isn't a fighting game per se, but it has many strong fighting game elements. One key element in fighting games is reading your opponent, which is equal parts reaction and prediction.

I can reliably counter-guardbreak, but the real problem is when both people go for a guardbreak at the same time. In my experience it seems like a toss up which one gets it when that happens.

Be honest, can an Australian buy this game and have a good time? Or is the oceanic scene void of any hosts and every match is an intolerable lagfest?

I'm at like 85% Parry God level, but I only land Warden Crushing Counterstrikes maybe 33% of the time. Is the timing a lot tighter than a parry, or just "different"?

I'd love to Crush Counter a Peacekeeper lunge, but I fail almost every time. I can parry it reliably though. I can't tell if I'm literally insane or something. Do you have to do it real early so the hit connects when you're flashing white?

That's my only worry. I enjoy this game a lot, and I think it should still be alive on consoles at least for a good while.

I really worry about player counts on PC. If this game had actual cross platform play this could be avoided to a large degree.

It's a simple enough game to pick up that many casuals will probably toss down, but at the same time I do commend it for actually being a VERY easy to pick up "fighting" game. I'd at least loosely define it as one in 1v1 and 2v2 modes (The only ones that actually matter imo). It can teach someone brand new to fighting games the proper mindset required without it being overly frustrating. Because of the slower pace and relatively forgiving timings on a lot of moves it isn't nearly as infuriating to get schooled by someone if only because it's also quite easy to pinpoint where you fucked up and where they did better.

With Siege and now this, Ubi is actually starting to have a decent track record with multiplayer titles and it scares me.

Spears are really good at stabbing, and the stab is the hardest move to block in fencing. If you were to hold a hockey stick and stab forward you'd see it's really easy to choose where to hit on a target since you only have to make microadjustments instead of changing trajectory

It makes sense though. Even though the ball itself doesn't move predictably it doesn't stop all that quickly.
If you were to suddenly move your arm in a different direction than the swing you'd get a facefull of metal when it whips back at you.

Does anybody actually believe they will add more factions? There's no place for them on the map. They said they will expand map, but how can you add faction and not fuck up war balance? Now it's every faction is fighting against other. If they'll add 4th, one faction will be fighting 3 while other are still fighting 2.
I think they'll add something like mercenaries without actual representation on the map, but it will be mix of different fighters like Roman dude. And I even doubt that, because besides from Roman looking guy there's nobody else different.

if it helps, try to make note of the spacings a particular character likes to do their guard break at so when you see them stop or do anything in that spacing, you'll be thinking about teching the GB. It's a big window, and its risky to pull out, if you aren't cancelling GB from things or use it as a tool to mix up and just throwing it out randomly, there are many ways to punish it if it whiffs.
