For one, despite the jokes, staying alive is a legit skill. Especially when it's playing ring-around-the-objective while you buy time for teammates to make it back in overtime.
And you'll never land as many shots as a hitscan or faster projectile character, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be contributing in combat. Those peashots can be the difference between a character who dies and one who gets away with a little bit of health.

DM is shit compared to Rein's shield. Rein doesn't spend resource unless shield gets hit, D.va does, so she can't just have it up all the time. Uptime is 4 seconds with 10 seconds recharge, that's laughable compared to Rein. And on top of that his shield is larger and actually doesn't let a lot of shit through unlike DM. Mei's freeze, Zarya's beam, Symmetra's skillgun, Rein's hammer, just to name a few. Fuck, Rein can hold off D.va's ult in his face.

The truth is, Rein is such a safe pick, the only reason to play D.va anymore is to back him up as an off-tank. Even so, you will do better picking Hog for sustain and CC or Zarya to save focused squishies.

So, sorry, but you are buttmad in a very subjective way, just because you don't get gratification of hearing hit-ping when you shoot someone.

Okay, how about this then.

Instead of turrets, drones.

She can make various drones, possibly sharing a certain resource so she gets to choose.

She can either send drones in certain area to do whatever or attach drones to allies sort of like Zen's orb.

Drones can range from damage to buffs, healing, shielding, what have you. They can of course be shot down.

For Q, a blueprint appears which she can place anywhere in the air. After a second, a larger drone flies in to fill the blueprint. For a limited time, wherever she right clicks, this drone fires a rocket. Would take a bit of skill to be able to position the drone so it has LoS on targets, but could be really fun.

So basically, an offensive builder support.

I feel like the maps wouldn't be so bad if they were designed better. Besides the choke points the only parts of the map that matter are the objectives or check points. Oh we just lost point A? Just back up to point B. No point in trying to defend anything except the very last part. Payload maps are better but you still have shit like in Nombani where after they take the first point they pretty much just push the cart to the final choke point.

And don't even get me started on koth maps. More than half the fucking map is useless and just used a pretty path to run back to the point.

Also most players are casual, and it's easier to casual with big teams because you don't run into those hard counters with limited load outs.
Same reason 4vs4 sc2 is so much more FUN then try hard 1vs1. 1vs1 you have to know what every single scout means, like if they have 6 roaches at 4 minutes you can expo, vs if you scout that 4min 30 seconds, can't be sure you safe. Gotta remember that Over Watch's engine was one designed for an MMO and repurposed. Flanking is a tactic. Baiting abilities to exploit cooldowns is a tactic. Taking advantageous positions to give you an edge is a tactic. Picking the right time to engage etc, the list goes on and on.

These aren't some sort of grandmaster plays, this is what you are supposed to be doing all the time, no matter what rank or level you are.

D.va has nothing to do with your claims, there are plenty of defensive abilities and CC that, well, take control from you. It's an ability-focused shooter, and you can't play it by disregarding abilities and then complaining about them.

So yeah, aiming is important, but much less so, because of aforementioned abilities and huge hitboxes.

I have a weird feeling that you are a long term CS player. Or maybe Quake 3/Unreal? Those games are very different shooters to OW, you can't expect to approach OW with say CS mindset and make it work somehow.

Let people know what your shield status is, don't charge unless it's a short distance or you get a zarya bubble, land your shatters, don't drop your shield to firestrike while you're taking fire or there's a sniper.
