It lets you make a bar/visual cue for just about anything.
The game has done a good job of it for lots of things, but some things are still kind of difficult to keep track of.

For example, I use weakaura to show how close Icy Talons is to expiring, since it's a very small window (5 seconds) and to make sure its upkept as efficiently as possible at 3 stacks you want to renew it at exactly <1 second remaining, and watching a tiny little box with an even tinier number inside it is very inconvenient in the middle of a fight.

Exactly what happened with Elvui.
The look of it is okay (even thought it's a bit too black) but then when I raid it makes me lag like crazy even though I disabled some things inside. I can't be arsed to disable everything and test out what's causing the lags.
I don't think it's worth the effort either so I just run with the addons I listed earlier.
Pretty sure there's some garbage code inside of elvui or lua errors that leak memory or some shit.

here is currently a major exploitable glitch affecting subtlety rogues.
Currently when you enter stealth, and use shadowdance with the level 30 talent subterfuge enabled, stealth persists until shadowdance fades. Shadowance can be refreshed 3 times x5=15 seconds, which with other abilities such as vanish and sprint allows the rogue 20+ seconds unseen, by which time all but the most skilled opponents will be dead or close to it.

This combination of abilities is overpowered and creating an imbalance, probably due to intended interaction.

Although most obviously useful for pvp, this exploit has also been used in pve for dps boosting with some items, such as the legendary "mantle of the master assassin" which increases critical strike by 100% while stealth is active.

Additionally this ability has some use for speed-running/mount/gold-farming. Shadowstrike can be spammed in dungeons using this trick, effectively a 15 yard teleport. When macroed with the names of mobs in close proximity this can create very efficient movement within instances.

Unlike the fury warrior glitch (see recent post), the op nature of this glitch and its potential usage in rated arena means it will likely be fixed very soon.

Rogue is trash. The only point to your existence is to sit there afk in the head tunelling the boss because you lose enormous amounts of DPS from switching to adds.
And Sub and Outlaw are terrible. Outlaw can do numbers but it's an RNG fuckfest.
If Sub was good and I had a hope or prayer of getting decent legendarys I wouldn't be switching, but I already have 3 and I doubt I'd get lucky with two BiS for a second spec.

depends what server you're on. On Sargeras every guild and their mother's guilds are recruiting 24/7. Even with 7/7M 2/10M we're only getting a few interested people that actually have decent logs. Gotta find the right time and spam really, helps to have some decent clears too.

Depends on what you're trying to do. If you just want to do heroic then whatever goes really, just make sure you communicate your goals clearly and everyone is on the same page. In my experience most guilds form by being filled with "friends-of-friends" that people either know IRL or met in previous guilds they raided in. I don't really hear many long-lived success stories from guilds starting from scratch.

If your goal is mythic raiding then it's a case of too many chiefs not enough Indians. On my old server there were like 10 mythic guilds (many stablished since at least WoD), 5 """""mythic"""""" guilds (which is to say, they had 1 mythic kill from pugging a few spots), and like 50 7/7, 3/3 heroic guilds that all happen to be missing the last 2-5 spots for a mythic group (that's assuming they all have 100% attendance rate and thus eliminating the need for a bench of 2-5 additional players). I won't say it's a losing battle but if you go this route it'll be tough as fuck.

I'm leveling a monk atm. Not really sure if I'll stick with it as it's not very flashy and a bit boring but what is the point of Crackling Jade Lightning? It's channeled, eats energy way fast and hardly deals any damage at all. Is it just a way to pull flying enemies? It also says it knocks back melee attackers but I haven't seen it do that once.

uhhh orignially it was a way to get something off of you when you were about to die and an alternative chi generator at range, especially for MW or for use with spinning fire blossom (removed but cool skillshot root ability)

then in wod it was just a weak filler to use when you couldnt get close that was free or if you were a lazy mw that already had plenty of tea

this xpac though, people were using it to refresh combo strikes if they fucked up or had to leave melee so blizz gutted any reasonable use of the ability without it completely destroying your whole energy bar in less than a second unless your mw
