Saha Dragon does brick hard if it bricks. If anything, always keep Saha at mulligan JUST to be safe. Remember to evolve Aela, you can bait enemies into taking her out and getting that one more point of ramp you need.

That said, the deck is very much a tempo reversal deck. While it does wonders against daria it does suck against OTK, which has no tempo to reverse, and Control Shadow, which is just the biggest cockblock against dragons with fucking Khawy and Mordecai. Against those you'd rather go Face Forte.

The difference is that Saha is more versatile, can be dropped as early as turn 5, and is your main comeback card. Much more impact than DoD or Themis.

If you don't ramp, you probably lose. But if you ramp and don't have saha, you probably lose too. The deck can brick real hard, and its draw power isn't too great either, at least not early on.

Obviously it's matchup dependent. For example, against Daria I almost always keep Saha if I mulligan it. The only way you lost as Ramp drag to Daria is if you don't manage to draw any Saha's, even if they have a god draw. If you manage to stay alive, even if it's on a sliver of health, when you drop saha+luci, you will most likely win. On the other hand, aggro shadow and banner and very high early impact stuff like that don't really need the steep tempo reversal, so dropping Saha is better.

Which class is worse in T2 then? Because it's no longer Rune and Forest. Rune got helped a lot with the follower based stuff at common and uncommon and Forest also got a bunch of really powerful commons and uncommons while Haven got one good one (the Death Sentence cake) while their Countdown Amulet count got watered down so the decks are a lot less consistent to draft well, since a lot of the under-statted countdown enablers just end up being useless and terrible.

Not him, but here are my two cents.

I feel Forest got a lot worse in T2 with the transition into RoB, because your consistency in drafting fairy spawns went way down, and none of your other cards are going to work without those. It's not unplayable since it did get some relatively stand alone bombs like Forest Gigas, but I'm not confident in choosing the craft at all.

Same case with Swordcraft - RoB caused its ability to draft a good, synergistic curve to drop a lot. Between this and a lot new removal cards for every other class, it's difficult to win the face race. More power to you if you can get your hands on Fangblade and Albert, but other than that you aren't winning the long haul. And T2 typically generates long games.

It's absolutely true that Haven is hurting for its drop off in amulet consistency. I'd like to think it's not such a terrible thing, though. They did get fantastic bombs like Ancient Lion Spirit.

Blood is still shaky at best. Morianna and that reverse-Beast Dom are pretty good, and so is Veight, but I can think of little beyond them that can really propel a victory.

Rune is fantastic, Dragon is fantastic, and Shadow is fantastic. They all have the tools necessary to control the board indefinitely and destroy the opponent with whatever ace cards they managed to horde.
