Alright, I think I've got this figured out. Maybe.
The Souls series, I've noticed, has some similarities to some of the Star Wars movies. Not saying they're equal when it comes to quality or anything, though.

First big entry, obviously. The framework for everything else is right here, and it never really changed all that much. There's still fans that believe it's the best in the franchise.

>Dark Souls = The Empire Strikes Back
For better or worse, the one everyone remembers. Takes a lot from the first entry and rolls with it. Spawned that phrase that literally everyone knows. Believed by many to have surpassed the original.

>Dark Souls 2 = The Phantom Menace
Is it good? Is it bad? People will debate this shit forever. It's not quite the same, at the very least.
Has the stigma of introducing something so annoying that some will write off the entire thing in disgust. Regardless, has some cool stuff that makes it fun.
Somewhat vindicated over time, and by fans.

A continuation that is, at heart, still really more of the same. Borrows a lot, but isn't necessarily anything that new. Anyone who's seen the others will note that it's heavily in debt to the characters and ideas of the other installments, probably more so than any other entry. Regardless, it's good enough to avoid being a total disappointment, and there's obviously plenty of new fans that came in because of it.

I don't know, maybe I'm just way too bored.

General: You'll want at two +2 rings to get the most from a caster, Southern Ritual +2 is from the second fight against a pretty average mid-game boss. Clear Bluestone +2 can be found after round two against one of the easier mob bosses.

Sorcery: Has probably the easiest start, you start with good offense and relatively easy access to the next trainer (only need to beat at most three areas). You also gain access to innate Magic weapons very early (as early as the 2nd/3rd boss). Access to the best stuff is hidden behind Ascetics, MLGS (extremely flexible in this game, you'll want it) requires you to fight one of the major bosses twice. Power-stanced Blue Flame is also good, but is end-game material. Only problem is that Faintstones can be hard to get via farming in the early game.

Pyromancy: Literally any caster can sub-class in it, it's very flexible. The spells can be a bit difficult to get, and they have shit range for the most part. Innate fire weapons are relatively few and far inbetween until the late game (some of the better ones are locked behind DLC), the Black Knight weapons are pretty okay but require investment in Faith.

Miracles: Shit in the early game, you only have defensive spells and not good access to innate Lightning weapons unless you're willing to farm. Lightning Spear is shit after all the nerfs, you'll have to wait for later versions to actually do well. Heals and status recovery are very useful to have in the early game (Caressing Tears is a godsend in the swamp area), and Homeward can save you some souls since it's a free Homeward Bone (those are literally limited purchase until you reach mid-game). Late game is better once you get Sunlight Blade.

Hexes: Needs loads of investment, but one of the best casting schools. Very little resists it, and early-game casts are plentiful with a trainer available early on. Not many great innate-Dark weapons, but they can be farmed. You can sub-class in literally every other class of magic.

Is there any reason to do a 40/40 Quality build over a 40/40/30 Hollow? Looks like both fit more than comfortably into 120.

Carry a bow and be prepared to use it occasionally. His self-buff move can be interrupted if you stun him, and a single arrow to the head is guaranteed to do so. Otherwise you have to run up to him and try to hit him as many times as possible.

If you feel like being a massive faggot, he only does physical damage with his attacks, so a greatshield with high stability can literally cockblock almost everything he throws at you.

Resins beat out weapon buffs unless you invest heavily into them, but doing so makes your phys damage lower. The only buff worth getting is probably Blessed since the reqs are quite low and buffs your phys ar nicely.

Clay is doable in pve but honestly straight swords still beat everything. Fending off invasions is ezpz with a SS since you just spam away and eventually they'll run out of estus

So after careful thought I have put together a sequel character to Frostbit Halen to use in DS3 autistic OC description lore.

I don't really think any of these apply so much as I think the pacing and direction of the DLC area as a whole was a clusterfuck. Nothing really felt that distinct from the main game and the many sub-areas all felt samey, the few good ideas weren't expounded upon enough, the new weapons clearly favored dex/quality builds in terms of actual effort put into them, and it didn't really add anything to the world of 3 as a whole or improved the base game enough to say it felt like a fitting area.

I'm of the opinion that Oceiros and the garden itself have nothing to do with Untended Graves. It's just there as an excuse to be able to travel directly to Untended Graves.

Judging the rest from context, it appears that in the past, Champion Gundyr was meant to Link the Fire and become a Lord of Cinder, but arrived too late, so the First Flame faded and it became an Age of Dark. With no fire, there's no need for a Fire Keeper, and so she died. Ludleth then did some magic or other to bring back the First Flame and Link it, becoming a Lord of Cinder (time is convoluted, blah blah blah). Time passes, and then the main game happens.

Champion Gundyr, in his failure to Link the Fire in the past, lost his purpose. Then he was defeated by future you, and after Ludleth became a Lord of Cinder and brought light back, he took the Coiled Sword and became Iudex Gundyr, to judge Unkindled Ash as worthy of proceeding and Linking the Fire.

I suppose the eyes of the first Fire Keeper were from before the time of DS1, who that Fire Keeper was I doubt we'll ever know. Presumably, Gundyr took the Coiled Sword because he hoped to become the judge who would determine who would be worthy to Link the Fire next (that "who" being the player character). The mutation is just basic Pus of Man, one presumes that in his centuries (?) of waiting, he was infected and weakened by it.
