I really want to buy this game, but so far the lag looks like it's simply out of control and almost game-breaking. Realistically, how long would it take for them to fix the lag? I don't want to have to wait like 2 weeks or anything like that. I barely want to wait a week.

Honestly don't see this game being tolerable for very much longer. This low of a level (14) and the grind is absolutely ridiculous. All the NPCs are super boring to fight and give barely any experience singularly, so you just have to spend an hour just finding and killing npcs to level up once. The costs for the recipes are ridiculous and levelling up just gets slower and slower with nowhere to go with more challenging yet better rewarding enemies. Sure you could join a server with 100x exp but it's going to have crazy resource values too which will just be dumb. Or you could play solo and fight ONLY the absolutely retarded trash tier ai.

If anyone is thinking about buying this game, definitely don't buy it yet.

Wish I wasn't over 2hrs so now I'll have to wait for them to never release it so I can refund instead

they're both barren and bare bones right now but that'll improve with time, if you want info on the game look at them, or if you want to contribute you can go there too.

protip: wikia has a fuckton of ads, is usually considered to be the inferior wiki to most other kinds except when there's no other wiki, and on some wikis (like the warframe wiki) they try to block adblocks and it's a lot of effort to get around

but i'd suggest bringing them both up to par so the community has a choice of their preferred wiki.

in steam go to view > servers and at the bottom set it to conan exiles

that way you only have to load the list once instead of every time you change server, crash, or get dropped

you can view server info and monitor ping, player count, and who is logged in

you can favorite servers from the list or add them manually using server IP

I heard(youtuber rant) that a long time ago rust used to let you build ladders on enemy bases and it completely make the metagame unique and interesting (basically you have to make bases practical and it was possible for even one man to raid a big clan's base by himself), but those days are long passed

I tried to turn on the enemy name thing, invert mouse and subtitles and none work unless I fiddle around enabling and disabling them and changing another setting resets the other one.

Turn up xp rate to like 2-3x and either lower the crafting requirements of increase the amount of materials you get from harvesting.

Might also make sense to do some other tweaks and I think you can even increase the durability of buildings in the server settings.

The current default rates suck for balance and obviously need some iterating. There's a reason the devs made it possible to tweak all that when you make a server.

It depends on the server but if you find a decent one you can play mostly lag free. Occasionally you get some rubber banding but it's the exception now rather than the rule.

There is a problem when a single foundation is 50 stones and you get 3-4 per gather, maybe 12-16 per stone on the ground. And you need like 20 foundations to get even a small base for a house.

That combined with the fact that you can't pick up things you've placed but have to break/dismantle them instead and only get a fraction of the resources spent back.

I also think it might be a good idea to make the enemy respawns slower. Playing solo I've noticed that they're way too fast. Going online would probably help but I still think they spawn too fast because they can spawn on you as you're clearing a camp.

A place to Hide and store your stuff mostly

Obviously technical stuff comes first for fixing, but here's some ideas.

- Add iframes to dodging (or fix hitboxes. If I dodge I shouldn't get hit)
- Have certain weapons do special thing, such as axes causing bleeding, pickaxes stopping health regen for a short time, or arrows slowing you down the more you have stuck in you
- Add farming/animal breeding so that people can't survive off of just eggs and grubs and steak. We need veggies too!
- Add traps that can lure in wild animals
- Add spikes and stuff for defense
- Add wandering bandits/exile NPCs to make the world feel alive
- Add more types of armor to vary your looks
- Make exile "camps" or whatever they're called expand if you don't take them down, and also let us remove the bonfires they have. Give the players an urgency to take out the other exile NPCs lest they be overrun
