There is no ADC that isn't ranged, certainly not for bot lane, you can kinda consider some fed yasuo or riven or fiora to be melee adcs but only when they're fed and they will fall off eventually in the lategame. For interesting adcs try jhin, lethality mf, blue varus, blue ezreal. I don't play traditional adcs because of how boring it is but those are good, jhin and mf are my fav.

Of these 3, only sona is really damage focused. Lulu and Ivern are both played more to assist your teammates.

hmm, I can think of Ivern, Kindred (sorta), and Zac (sorta) who all have a redemption build where you basically just try to keep everyone around you ~full hp. But to play one of those you're probably not gonna be able to pressure as hard as a typical jungler. You might like a solo lane Lulu with the ult and the shield. The real issue is that sustain supports are useful because they can heal someone else and there's not gonna be someone else in your lane. I dunno, it doesn't seem like beyond this you're gonna find someone who fits the same type of play style you like as a support so probably just play champs when they're free.

And well yeah you can do without an adc just like you can do without a tank if you go damagy jg and top or mage if you go assassin mid, there are upsides and downsides to that. Velkoz is fine currently. He shits out damage, provides some cc, rylais change didn't negatively affect him that much since his Q slows already and everything else applied it's aoe slow either way. He can be punished though because too immobile and ult locks him in place.
Can't say too much about zed but he's your typical assassin pretty much. He somehow leaved pick/ban status even in low elo. He can kill a squishie and sometimes escape, nothing else, just like most other assassins.
Most "meta" toplaners now are tanks and maybe jayce, but you can pick anything else from fiora/riven/yasuo/renek/camille to talon/quinn/vayne with relative success. Mid are mages or assassins mostly.

Bot is where most attention of both teams is focused in most games early to mid, then it starts to switch to mid in low elo or just overall to the all objectives on the map in high elo. Toplaners have their own thing going. It still possible to lose game because of feeding top obviously, it's just that when competent people are playing on both sides it's not going to happen, you won't get top solo destroying 3 towers and taking inhib because enemy team will do something about it, in top tank meta ganking top is just wasting time in most cases, so both jg and mid are going to look at bot first when they are looking for gank/roam opportunities, they are 2 bodies to kill there, and at least one is guaranteed to be squishie, not to say that dragon is in 10 sec walk from there. And it usually what happens.
You can get any kind of games on whatever server and elo you're playing, but when people play by "meta" and not only picking best picks but also play safe and play to win, this is what is going to happen.

Ekko is much easier than yasuo. I unironically consider yasuo to be one of the hardest, if not the hardest, champs in the game. Lots of mechanics and micro are required to be successful. As much as I hate him and his general playerbase I can't deny that.
Ekko is pretty easy in comparison, you need some basic predictions to pull off W with some consistency and you need to not forget to look at where your ghost at, but that's it, you just dash and blink around and stack your 3hit passive. You'll get very confident with ekko after 5-10 games, with yasuo usually not. I own ekko and got into him pretty quickly, and I play yasuo sometimes when he is free and all I do is feed no matter how good I try to play. Maybe it's just me though, but for me yasuo is very hard to get into.

They'll probably do another adc rework in a year or two. Adc was the first class to be reworked and that was a long time ago. Itemization is pretty bad on adcs in general, if an adc can't abuse lethality or go unorthodox buildpaths like ezreal or something then they're basically locked to 1 core build where each item sucks when you look at it in isolation but together when you've stacked ad crit and aspeed you start to pump out ridiculous damage. So most adcs build exactly the same things nowadays, in many cases in exactly the same order, and those items don't really do their cost justice before you stack some more synergetic items on top of that.

Yes. Especially in low-mid elo where most people don't respect your Q, ult and generally don't realise what arpen does to their soft, zero armor asses. You can force their fullhp zhonyaless mage or adc out of fight with a single lucky ricochet Q. But if you whiff your ult you greatly reduce your teamfight presence so there's that. You have 30% cdr minimum on the other hand, and this ult does absolutely disgusting damage too. Even to tanks when you have bc and ldr/mr. Not-tanks just die if they aren't quick enough to flash/dash out of it.
I dunno I spam her last couple of weeks and even games where I'm underperforming and/or lose laning phase (which is hard if they don't have healslut, you just Q sometimes and poke them out of existence) I still do very good damage if I play safe, stay alive and mind my positioning.

Champs I'm considering:
Illaoi - She seems fun, a bitch to deal with in lane, and I'm low elo so for some reason she insta-tilts everyone.

Jhin - I don't have many ADCs and he was fun to play, bonus points he's an ARAM beast.
The only con is I feel like he's due for some major nerf for being meta for so long.

Riven - She seems really strong once you know how to play her on a basic level, the downside being the stereotypes associated with playing her.

Elise / Gragas / Nidalee - all look really interesting to play with nida and elise looking harder to learn than Gragas, open to suggestions about other junglers as well that are fun.
