you might ask, but why? well, during the first week there were insane queues on elysium. the chinese never had to really worry about them because their primetime was when the queue was gone or low (less than 1k). it was during eu primetime that it jumped to 10k. the chinese were already in having a great time while na/eu were getting cucked in the queue.

zeth'kur released and the players who decided they didn't want to wait in a queue for 2-3 hours to play with a bunch of chinese/neets rerolled. thus we have two servers: elysium the chinese/neet containment server and zeth'kur the pure na/eu server.

did saturday's patch fix any of the bugs caused by wednesday's patch, or did they simply roll back wednesday's patch? this could be tested by having a warlock attempt to rename his pet by using /script PetAbandon()

allegedly a valkyrie programmer was looking for help with coding on stackoverflow, and the solution to his problem was obviously simple. I've only seen a screenshot of it, which could have easily been faked, but a part of me believes it's true based on how much damage the 1/25 patch caused. That, combined with the developer's prioritization of preventing warlocks from renaming their pets by using macro has ruined any faith that I had in this project. I believe the server quality will only go downhill from here. This will be most noticeable when the original pvp and pve servers progress to the next content patch.

I don't know what happened behind the scenes between Nostalrius and Elysium, or if it's gross incompetence on behalf of the valkyrie developers, but Elysium is already dead and has begun to rot. The quality will diminish over time, causing some people to quit while others pretend to enjoy eating their shit sandwich. I'm not sure if Crestfall is still happening, but it would be the only thing that could save the private server community.

Would like to go hunter, debating between orc/dorf/nelf. Dwarf racial looks amazing for vs rogues, but as far as I know hunters don't have a huge problem vs rogues anyhow - maybe I'm wrong? Shadowmeld looks great for lots of stuff, including avoiding ganks.
How does that work with pets? do hunters either use a cat with prowl or dismiss their pet when they shadowmeld?
What is a good pet that can do decently in wpvp while leveling and also tank for questing? Are owls okay? screech looked really nice but that's just from reading, no experience.

Warriors are the only class who gain more resource the more damage they deal which makes stats that mean you hit more often FAR more important than other classes.

If a rogue misses an autoattack that has no bearing on energy management, but if a warrior misses one it means less rage which means less abilities.

Edgemasters make you hit more often, means your dodged less and reduces the effect of glancing blows which all give you more rage.

They aren't even BiS until much later on though, when people have way better gear in all their other slots and are closer to the crit cap. As it stands currently you probably get more dps out of other shit.

Shadowmeld is beyond god tier for pvp, both in BGs and in the world. Especially when you have a cat with prowl.
You can just dismiss but that 4 seconds open up a lot of chances to get spotted by the person you want to ambush etc (or if you are trying to escape)

For leveling ideally a bear/boar/owl/tenacity pet, but anything will do really. I always go bear until level 50 then get a dps pet.

Dwarf racial is the best desu, even though hunters can shit on rogues it's still pretty useful if you get ganked or are going 2v1.

I personally rolled nelf because at 60 you'll probably be using Rhok'Delar for the rest of the game which is a nelf bow and dwarves look kinda shit with it desu.

You just dismiss pet to avoid ganks or move far enough away from your pet that they despawn.

Cat is just straight up the best for levelling and pvp imo. If you were on a pve server there might be a better pet, but killing mobs fast and being the best pvp pet it takes the cake. Any pet can tank decently if you upgrade it with natural stamina & armour.

Also once you get dash on your cat and bestial wrath it can literally rape everything that moves. I don't think I've lost a 1v1 since level 40 and can often 2v1 people a similar level to me if I have all my CD's up.

As a nelf you can literally pop bestial wrath, send your cat at a warlock, and then just shadowmeld and watch them fumble about and die.

right, but Ordanus's tower is actually at the edge of the spawn of the dryads. most questers will ignore the spawns of about 9-10 dryads down the hill. i've never seen this area be overly populated on any server, even elysium during launch hell. i just rode by it again on my way to felwood and it was still empty.
