I like my Zeldas spicy. That Tetra is practically removed and lost her tan from WW at the midway point was a huge wasted opportunity, but at least the ending fight was great and befitting of her character. WW is the reason that I've always kind wished that a Zelda game would be done where both Link and Zelda are out there getting shit done together.

Hmm... can you post the whole page. It looks like the words "Fi final design" are blue in color, so that you will associate the caption with the blue bordered image close above it, rather than the black-bordered image farther below it. If I didn't know better, I'd say this is specially cropped to hide the whole truth.

Besides, the image that explains the arms is obviously not final. The "Gem" setting has a weird bit on top of it, and I don't remember Fi's gem changing color in-game. The center ortho has a rounded head and space for eyes. Fi doesn't have a collar, the "manteau" just straight becomes her neck. And her cape-arms don't have the texture of a whale-belly, it's just fabric. And the colors are all wrong.

Anything is grim if you only focus on the grim parts, but windwaker had a....more hopeful theme. Things started off bad, but throughout the game Link consistently works to make things better. He saves the kidnapped girls, he helps the koroks replant the islands, he helps komali and medli regain their confidence and calms valoo, he helps his grandmother come to terms with her family leaving home.

The game is about moving on, whether from tragedy, misfortune or sadness. It's about moving on and putting your past behind you in favour of looking towards a brighter future with greener pastures. Windwaker was a game about hope and change.

The game is what you make of it, perception is unique to each individual, but the presence of grim events does does a grim game make. A majority of the game is hopeful, cheery, colourful and optimistic. It is rare that any of the characters feel like they are in a hopeless situation, they all act like they can handle what is being thrown at them. That's not a grim attitude, that is not a grim outlook. When all you are being shown is a steady upward motion then you can't really describe it as grim.

I do not really have much else to say on the matter though, we will have to agree to disagree. I find nothing but joy and determination in windwaker's story, I hope one day you will as well

Okay but just the cheerful presentation of the game should tell you that it's not trying to dwell on the negative, despite the post apocalypse setting. No other game in the series has an incarnation of Link who is so explicitly not the chosen one, while the gods/guardians and even ganondorf all underestimating him because he isn't the reborn hero. No other games ends with Hyrule being destroyed for good and Link setting off for somewhere else. It's a metaphor about letting go of the shitty but familiar past in favor of an uncertain but potentially bright future. This is the point people are trying to make when they say WW is not a grim game, it's a hopeful game.

In a big ass open world, backtracking should be set at minimum. Either way, there are teleporting points all over the map.

For starters, none of the Smash line amiibo have been listed as compatible with BotW, so that brings us down to 10.

The four 30th anniversary amiibo are only usable in-game to summon resources from the sky, so I doubt there'd be any need for data management there.

Wolf Link is used in-game, and I don't see a reason for it to be accessed from the main menu, before you even load up a save file.

I'm having a hard time picturing what the BotW amiibo could do that would need the menu just for them, but it's sort of exciting to speculate.

GBA has bad sound quality and they also added Link yelling whenever he swings his sword which makes it pretty unbearable. The only positive point the GBA has over the SNES is the shovel not disappearing from your inventory at some point in the game but it's honestly not a big deal at all as chances are you wouldn't have used it for anything (since there isn't anything to get with it anymore up to the point where it normally disappears).

I'm more than happy to have indie games fill the void, personally. It's what I've always wanted. There's another Zelda-esque semi top-down game called Hob coming out that I'm eager to get my hands on though.

The only problem with indies is that 3D is harder than 2D, so you don't see it as often and it has a higher chance of going wrong, so a big adventure game like Zelda is not going to be copied as often.

The renaissance era of indie games is really helping though, Kickstarter and such oftens helps make up for the budget limitations for more ambitious projects. I know a lot of people are extremely cynical towards Kickstarter, but we've gotten more good than bad from it.

I hope Shovel Knight 64 becomes a thing.
