The fact that I got shitty performances in the vanilla game with my config made me insta-quit though. Shitty engine, no matter how much you mod it.

For some reason I've got my game to the point where I rarely crash but when I do, it's always soon after loading into the game. Like, I'll either crash a few times in a row within a couple minutes of loading the save, or I won't crash until I've had the game open for like 12 hours. Never in between. It's weird.

How many mods are you running? I hear people don't start getting serious stability issues unless they manually install/NMM install mods in the wrong order or if they get close to the mod limit/FNIS limit.

I'm at like 60-70 mods and just cleaning them with tes5edit and cleaning my saves if I remove scripted mods keeps everything stable. Gotta make sure everything overwrites in the correct order in the MO left pane but that's pretty common sense stuff.

would it be possible for something with enough insight/power (CHIM or something) to travel between Kalpas? Or is there only ever one 'current' Kalpa and the others never existed/will exist?

I'm just wondering because I've heard theories about figures like Mehrunes Dagon, Molag Bal and the Hist being reincarnations of beings from a past Kalpa. I guess I'm asking if it'd be possible to travel back to that Kalpa while still being able to return to the current one? I wouldn't call it time travel because Kalpas sound more like states of creation than linear events.

It's not really possible for someone to just decide "I'm gonna go to kalpa X now". It is possible to survive through the ending of a kalpa, though. CHIMsters could definitely do it, if they desired. Redguards are actually from a previous kalpa. Part of their lore is that some of them learned to avoid Satakal shedding the Worldskin (their interpretation of the end of the kalpa) by "moving at strange angles" in a process called the walkabout. The Hist are also known to do something in a similar vein.

And while I always get confused about this, I'm pretty sure the kalpic cycle is only something that affects Mundus. Time isn't really a thing outside the moral realm. Things reset to Convention. If you were in Oblivion, you'd probably escape Alduin at the end of a kalpa. This is also why the daedric princes.

Things do get sort of muddled, though. Time is linked very closely to space on Nirn. The West (the remains of Yokuda) are a reflection of the past. The East (Akavir) is a glimpse of the future. Basically, this implies that in the next kalpa, snakemen and yetis and shit will be the dominant sentient beings in Tamriel. That's kind of the way kalpas work. The pieces and components are all the same, but things get shuffled around.

So, no I'd say it's not possible to just go to another kalpa. Time doesn't really work that way in TES, though it's so complicated that it's hard to say for sure. I'd want to say that someone who's achieved CHIM could MAYBE do whatever they fuck they want, and flit around time as they please, but while CHIM is essentially the power to do whatever you want, it's kind of predicated on having the restraint not to.

How's this?

I am a bosmer vampire with a split personality disorder. I do not realize that I am a vampire during the day. In fact, I am a kindhearted man that would do anything to be an adventurer like the dovahkin. I help those in need whenever I can, but I am incredibly frail and not good at much.
During the night, I am kindred with demons and death. I feel mog-bal's blood coarsing through my veins and I hate every part of it.
In both states of mind, I have an intense hatred for the impure and undead. The only difference is that while the sun hides, I know why I feel the way I do. These creatures remind me of myself. They disgust me. So I shall irradicate all that I find.
I never sleep, and for this reason I have developed a slight bit of paranoia. If anyone talks to me for too long during the day I get scared, subconsciously worrying that they may know what I really am.
I have killed more innocent m en than I'd like to admit due to this...
I have come to solitude for a fresh start and hope to enlist in the army so that I may go on my very own adventure. But old habits die hard....

I need a mod that will completely change the game and make it feel nothing like vanilla.

I want to finish the main quest but the game is so shit even with mods.
