However, if Corrin or Keaton visits instead, they will point out her nature as a shapeshifter, at which point she will leave. She will then join at the end of the chapter, having left her village with her beaststone after a huge argument with her father over keeping her origin hidden and using her.
In her unpaired ending she reconciles with the village and helps bring it bounty and fortune with her abilities.

I don't like the durability system in FE or any other game. It always discourages you to use your best weapons and never adds any depth to the gameplay.

Instead, having a higher skill level with a weapon class could be more important. Give a small bonus in hit/dmg if you're a high weapon rank for example, a boost in crit, something like that. Maybe reduced damage or increased dodge against that weapon too at max rank because they're experts.

The problem is that the Prf weapons are broken. They say hey, we're going to add penalties to 1-2 range. Then make fucking 1-2 range weapons that not only have no penalty, but actually buff your stats, make you less vulnerable to crits and hit hard on top of that. You couldn't make a dumber decision than that if you tried.

Maybe I put it wrong. It's not a deep mechanic, it just makes it so you keep the really powerful weapons for really powerful foes, but most enemies aren't strong enough to make it worth wasting uses for them.
The boss rush at the end of FE7 is a good example of when I would use legendary weapons but up until then it's a complete waste.

If you use them against an enemy that is slightly above average and there are other enemies around him that attack you, you waste uses.

prf weapons with 1-2 range are a mistake, take away their ranged properties and they're fine, Brunhyldr isn't even good anyway (magic is all around shit), but it's the most balanced prf in Fates (therefore shit), even the Fujin Yumi isn't that bad it's actually not that accurate, takumi compensates that, and the terrain ignoring isn't that impactful, but that's maybe because of birthright and revelation's shit maps

I think the penalties for silvers and braves are reasonable. Forces you to be smart about using them instead of just spamming them with no drawbacks. Silvers are good if you need the extra damage to kill an enemy. Similar with Braves, you use them if you need an offensive boost, just make sure they'll be safe from enemy phase.

Braves are fine and the penalty isn't too bad. I have never used a Silver weapon because the drawback is too great with not enough reward. At least Dragonstone+ makes you invincible, Lightning gives you a double attack.

Hoshidan weapons are better because Birthright is the easy route.

The problem only arises when using Hoshidan weapons in the other routes. They're more limited in Conquest at least but in Revelation, it's a problem probably because they didn't give a single fuck about balance in Revelation.

The problem with Fates Prf weapons isn't that they don't break, it's that everyone already has them (or in Corrin's case, gets it really early).

They were more balanced in earlier games because you didn't get them until later in the game. Compare that to the Anikis and Takumi who join you as Gods mostly because they join with their holy weapons already on hand.
