How do people still replay the series? I kinda want to play ME3 again, but then I remember that the whole series ends there, that there'll be no future games, and we that we never get to see the ultimate results of our efforts, then I lose motivation.

That's a general problem I have. The series, no matter how light-hearted the tone occasionally gets, is in-universe a constant stress-trip for all the characters because the apocalypse can hit at at any moment. The possibility is always hanging over their heads and permeates every scene. After all that an epilogue where they can truly be relieved at least would be nice. This is why I love CEM.

I understand it. It started to weigh on the fixed parts of the narrative. Anderson had a fix role to stay on Earth, which worked. Udina had a fix role of coming around as a politician, but then falling to indoctrination anyway, which was okay. It world not have worked in the reverse, it would have involved a lot more voice actor work, too. They already had like 1000 branches. They even have specific dialogue coded for in case you never played the Shadow Broker DLC and never talked to Liara about it in ME3. That's how branching the game already was by ME3. I've played it years ago and I'm still finding new shit. Like there's a way to actually have Mordin survive Tuchanka, if Wrex and Eve is dead and you take the Salarian's offer to trick the Krogan into thinking that the genophage was cured, and you convince Mordin to go along with it.

The name Terminus comes from the fact that it was produced by an unknown manufacturer in the Terminus systems.

I suppose it's treated like an inappropriate weapon since the Citadel council believes they are mostly invulnerable and that they've got issues that can be solved with the equivalent of state police and a couple of secret-agents (Spectres). Having the armor equivalent of a Davy Crockett would seem like overkill for a series of systems that are supposedly at peace.

CDPR (wisely in my opinion,) focuses more on each game being a self-contained story, with the characters being the overarching narrative force which allows them to focus on the tone of the setting.

Honestly, replaying through the ME series again, the biggest mistake Bioware made was dropping the ball with 2 by flooding the story with unrelated characters and a mostly unrelated plot with little of the worldbuilding that defined ME1 before picking up where 1 left off in 3. It's like they wanted the best of both narrative styles while failing to achieve either.

Grunt, Miranda, and even Samara would've been welcome additions in 2, but they went off the rails trying to make the focus of the game fleshing out unneeded characters at the expense of continuity.

It would've been an easy fix too. Keep the main story of ME2, but instead focus on the Alliance being forced to work with Cerberus due to not having enough resources, the growing relationships between the original characters while carefully introducing 3 new ones, ans make the Collector Base the Virmire of the game, while having a fleshed out Arrival as the ending.

This would've given a self-contained story while also preserving the overall arc.

Hopefully Bioware goes the CDPR route in Andromeda, or at least pick either an episodic arc or overarching plot and stick with one or the other, but I honestly don't know if they have it in them at this point.

Why do RPGs make level-ups cost more XP at higher levels even if it doesn't make sense?
It's supposed to be so you don't unlock all the end-game skills/spells right after one another but actually have to work for them, but that doesn't make any sense in ME where your skill trees aren't that deep
It's even dumber in ME1 where you get showered in skill points so you get an initial boost of power but then they dry up and you have to get a bunch of level-ups (which also cost more and more) to get any significant increase in power
