Too similar. Basically you'd only get it to experience the real Lagiacrus (which I absolutely loved) and Ceadeus.
I'd say it was only truly worth it back when people thought the WiiU would not be a failure, 3U online was one of my best gaming experiences ever.

Don't touch it on the 3DS, though. The horrid controls don't make up for the better framerate. Underwater on a handheld was stupid. But so is uneven terrain and ledges.

Great Forest - absolutely none of the areas near the basecamp are used for fighting monsters unless you take 50 minutes to kill them, the zone connections are complete shit, and it's loaded with walls to climb

Forest and Hills - THREE VEGGIE ELDER/NON COMBAT AREAS, ALL OF WHICH YOU CAN SPAWN IN, Zones are actual hallways that nothing fits in, battle theme by the shittiest MH composer in the franchise

Ancestral Steppe - Ledges are fine, steep slopes aren't. Guess what this zone is loaded with?
Let Dah'ren have Val Habor. Gen 4 would have been better if the main village was Cathar and the flagship area was Heaven's Mount

Jho is the fairest fight among "difficult" monsters, rajang is a really shitty monster though. It spends most of its time either jumping around so you can't hit it unless you snipe it with a greatsword or surrounded with an absurdly oversized hitbox so you can't get close to it anyway. As far as aesthetics go its roar sounds like shit and while it's a reference to a neat chinese story its design looks really bad, with its tiny shrimpy legs and comically massive arms. Remove it from the series completely desu.

Yes one of the ways to put fault on the older games is to imply that exactly. Although you yourself seem to forget one other alternative that is to stop moving and control the camera, which is probably what people did the most. Kinda like how you would stop pressing the face buttons to control the camera if a second analog stick is present.

Do the first quest, then the second, then the third up until 10
Each gives you 2 of the corresponding numbered tickets, so you'll be doing each quest up to 3 times.
Quests 7, 8, 9, and 10 also give tickets for lower tiers, so maybe do quest 10 three times before you get round to repeating the lower ones.

I know how to use every weapon but I always end up mostly only using greatsword. Full burst normal gunlance is the most fun to me but it's not very good so anytime a real fight gets posted I always end up equipping a greatsword for it. LBG is fun in Gen with the lost musket gimmick set up but otherwise I can't imagine how anyone enjoys that weapon when the HBG exists.

Why does everyone fall for the underwater meme? It's probably the most nonexistent issue I had with the game and actually added variety to the combat. Can't break miralis' wings? Shut up and git gud. Also water lancing is the most fun I had in the series thus far and could probably erect a tower to the moon with all of the Abyssal Laggis I've murdered.

Charm tables are cancer but also well known now. There are some pretty crazy methods to either land a table you want or at the very least avoid the 2-3 cursed ones. At this point if you land a bad table you deserve your misery for not taking a second to do some fucking research before starting a file.

Come the fuck on, underwater is restricted to a handful of monster fights. If it's really that bad to you, then just make a few Lances or GLs. Even then it's still not perfect and some monsters like Gobul are shit, but unless you lack a CPP or N3DS I'd say the hate is way overblown.

When I hit G I continued to make due with my high rank lagombi armour until I got a G rank quest with zamite, then used that and the giant lagombi event (dlc) quest to make g rank lagombi armour. I continued using this til close to the end of G3, when I made kushala. In other words do whatever, if your armour is G rank at all it should have enough defence but of course keep in mind that you should look for good skills in either the offence (attack up, challenger, sharpness+1, etc) or utility (evasion skills, earplugs, mycology, razor sharp, etc) departments. Garuga is a common one to make when you hit G rank even though that bird is a pain to grind. Its G rank armour has earplugs, critical eye (not as good as attack up but still a reasonable boost to damage), razor sharp and a bunch of slots plus a couple of points in handicraft, so with a moderately lucky talisman you should be able to get sharpness+1 as well.

All of the sound effects are horribly bass boosted, which seems to be part of the aesthetic they're going for; In a similar vein, the bloom when you look at the bright side of the sky is so intense that you can't see anything on the ground, and shadows are absolutely pitch-black, while the lighting system appears finished so these are likely deliberate decisions as well that make the game look really bad and even sort of headache-inducing (the same way that reading blurry text or yellow text on a white background can be, you strain your eyes trying to see things). The hit effects are all sparks like what you get when you hit a bad part in Monster Hunter, it looks bad and more importantly doesn't seem different when players hit different parts, meaning there's no indication of when you're hitting a weakspot or armour. Instead of an equivalent to carts, whether as a group or individually, if someone goes down their teammates get them up like in Borderlands or something, meaning total baddies can probably fairly easily slog through any hunt (I didn't note any indicator of a time limit either) and while good players won't be punished for bad partners as much I still think this system is pretty cheap. It also means playing solo you get ONE cart, putting heavy incentive on playing multiplayer, which is trash and also kind of defeats the positive aspect of good players not being hurt by bad ones as much by urging them to play with them more. Monsters are extremely sluggish, taking loooooong pauses between everything they do, and each we've seen only seems to have three or four attack patterns/combos, which they spam in sequence over and over- In other words, they aren't monster hunter monsters or dark souls bosses, they're MMO raid bosses.

Also the player animations are utter shit but that, some physics glitches and the sound direction are the things most likely to be fixed (since it's still not even in beta), so I don't want to harp on those too much.
