So, Junkrat sucks competitive, in Quick play, he's arguably one of the best DPS characters, but if ANYONE on the enemy team can aim, his ULT can't do shit.

I'd suggest making his concussion mine throw people sideways more (akin to Pharrah's rocket) - currently it throws them way up into the air, so even if they're thrown over an edge, they quite easily recover.

I'd also increase the damage that Riptire does from 600 to 750 (doesn't need to be 1,000 like D'Va's), as it stands a Roadhog with an armor or shield boost can survive a Riptire at point blank range.

The main change would be, Riptire should explode when shot - it would still allow people to shut down the ult, particularly if the Junkrat is a bad player - but currently a turret/sentry/76 can stop a riptire at point blank range and suffer no damage.
Right now, as a person who plays a LOT of Junkrat, I don't even use my ult if I'm going up against hit detection players - there's no point - I can do WAY more damage without my hero being a sitting duck.

Junkrat is a great counter for Symmetra and, particularly when played offensively, is a great way to back up a push.

He also has a pretty high skill ceiling when it comes to landing shots in competitive - a good Junkrat can pick a Pharrah out of the sky.

Yeah, I said competitive.
As in, if you're in a match with ANY hitscan heros and they're not retarded, you will not be able to pop off an ult - and even if you do kill one or two people - you likely would have done better if you had just lobbed a few grenades into them.

Consider that Riptire deals a MAXIMUM of 600 damage - setting up a decent riptire usually takes about 10 seconds from time you leave combat, to when you return.

In 10 seconds, you can accurately lob and land at least 15 shots, provided your target is big enough (ie. team grouped at a chokepoint, or you're taking down Rein's shield) - you can do 1800 damage in that time - almost breaking Rein's shield by yourself - or enough to wipe an entire assault team.

The riptire, to do the same overall potential damage, you will need to hit three people, point blank on the ground (riptires do less damage in the air, making airbursting above payloads pointless).
That is nigh upon impossible in competitive.

Meanwhile, you've been basically afk for about 8 seconds, and Tracer/Genji/Reaper has killed you in that time, putting you out of the fight for at least half a minute.

Junkrat's ult is broken, and he won't be competitive until they fix it.

I've noticed 99% of the people I play with and against have your exact mindset: this is PvE.
You have made an extensive case against Junkrat; on paper. You have not accounted for the psychological.
When the enemy team hears "FIRE IN THE HOLE!" they are looking all over the place for that damn tire. A third of the time, someone is looking for Junkrat to end him but at least half the other team has their attention divided lo--- TRIPLE KILL. Are you sending your Rip-Tires straight up the middle of the road; it has ten seconds on it, plenty of time to take a roundabout route to obliterate their support, Hana's mech, or getting rid of Reinhardt's shield.
And because this is a team-oriented game, you are not a one man army; you have a team. Someone else has taken down Reinhardt's shield, someone else has killed Tracer. And now, you've killed Mercy, and Lucio.
The enemy isn't expecting a bear trap there, they're not expecting a concussion mine here, they think they should be safe this far from the fighting when a RIP-Tire is running loose.

Oh wow, you're an idiot. There is nothing better to force the enemy team to dive for cover. Find your Reinhardt, wait for the other team's to either die or lose his shield, and if your team isn't incompetent this will happen, and pop it.

Watch 'em run. You won't get 5 kills. But you WILL ruin their push.

And I'm not the first guy, but the Riptire is the ONLY ultimate that can FLANK and RECOVER. Genji has to be on site and can be stunned or killed. The Riptire is immune to stun. Tracer's ultimate doesn't kill tanks. D.Va also has to be onsite and has a much longer charge time, as does Winston. And Sombra's doesn't deal damage at all.

Junkrat is the only character who can flank a push, disrupt the enemy foatuon, and possibly get a kill or three in the process - all from the safety of behind his own line. Then, unlike the other flanking ultimates, he can then resume dps as normal if it didn't work. If it did, bully for him - play of the game.

That's slow, m8. I used to work on laser tag equipment and there was a 10ms window where the pack was on (so you could be shot), but the gun was off, and people got good enough to hit that window with incredible frequency.
