I'd agree, but the problem is that his backstory wasn't established yet. So it'd just be your standard Evil Sonic story.

One thing I don't like and wish could have gone differently is the split canon in Sonic. Sega of America writing their own canon and then SatAM and Archie making their OWN canon removed even from THAT is something I wish never happened. I wish the Japanese canon could have been the universal canon from the start.

What you should really be requesting is Egg Boss Lien-Da anyway, seeing as she's an actual character.

If the original stories were done well, she could have been one of the most interesting side characters. She presents herself as a mystical, beautiful guide at first but later turns out to be a Mogul/Breezie style figure. The interplay of these two elements could have been really entertaining and make her a distinct figure in the book's political climate.

But Ken's stupid and Ian merc'd her, so she'll only ever be remembered as a promiment chest, wide hips, and a buzzsaw haircut. Oh well. Not a big loss.

They could probably take some elements from Underground as long as they didn't involve Sonic or Knuckles, the problem is that one of the core premises of the show is that Sonic is part of a royal family of OCs so if you get rid of that there's not much else to pick through. Like maybe you can bring in Bartleby as a Acorn Kingdom aristrocrat or have Sonic strum his guitar but what'd be the point.

Same with X and the OVA. Take out everything relevant to the game characters and there's not much else to use. Do people really want the comics to be about Sonic palling around with Chris Thorndyke? No. And the entire setting of the OVA completely conflicts with the game setting.

SatAM and AoStH are owned by Sega which means Archie can use stuff from that as long as they don't contradict the games or out-focus the game characters. Notice how the entire world is not a blasted hellscape controlled by a mad scientist bent on robotic supremacy like it is in SatAM, or a pastel technicolor acidtrip landscape with no internal logic like in AoStH. That's because that would conflict with the setting established in the games. Instead, elements from the two are broadly adapted in ways that fit the established game setting. My guess it's because the show takes place after the Classic era (SA1 to Battle timeline). While Heroes is in that timeline and Metal Sonic was the main antagonist in that game, there was no adaption of it in show.How the Chaotix can appear in the show without an adaption of their debut game instead of Metal Sonic is beyond me.

You know what SEGA should do? Reboot the entire franchise. ReBIRTH the entire franchise.

First, the Game canon. Take the Genesis Era canon, the Dreamcast Era canon, 3rd/Modern Era canon, and merge it all together into one cohesive continuity that keeps the Super Emeralds and Hyper transformation, Mighty & Ray, "The Boys", Tails Adventure and Knuckles' Chaotix and all that stuff, along with Shadow's backstory, the Knuckles Clan history,G/Emerl the Gizoid's history + the Chronicles stuff, the Solaris Project, Blaze's World, Silver's time, Eggman Nega, EVERYTHING exists in this one continuity, and it's all connected together perfectly with practically no plotholes or whatever.

Once that's done, take all the other continuties, cartoons and animes, comics and mangas, books, movies, all of it, throw it all together into one pot, stir it all together, and then transfer all of it through the SegaSonic Game Canon lense, so that all of it is added TO the SegaSonic universe WITHOUT changing the SegaSonic canon version of things.

sidenote: Whenever I think of this kind of thing, I always end up subconsiously excluding Fleetway and PreSGW Archie because of the massive differences, but eh, it can probably work when done correctly But.. maybe the Penders stuff can just be kept out, except for the Nocturnus stuff from Chronicles, and what Ian was doing with certain things, whatever you get the idea...

Then make THAT the official SegaSonic continuity for the games.

I think I have an unhealthy obsession with the artists on the comic. This is a serious post.

I find myself getting really attached to them through their art. I follow two or three of their tumblrs/twitters and they feel like real friends to me. I even have a crush on one of htem and honestly feel like we could be together if I knew them in person.

I don't know what to do about these feelings but this comic hiatus is fucking me up just thinking about these people suffering. I think the lore and games and comics weren't enough and I had to reach deeper into the fandom to find fulfillment and just ended up becoming obsessed with the people who create Sonic instead of Sonic itself.

Can anyone relate? Am I alone?

Despite the disappointment, bad games, bad comics, bad TV shows, shitposting about how the series was "never good," seeing that at the end of the day, we all still love Sonic & have supported this series through it all, is just awesome to see.

And as someone who's supported this franchise even through all the bullshit, seeing things like the Boom cartoon, the Archie comics (even with it's uncertain future), Project 2017 & Mania, it feels really good being a Sonic fan right now.
