Do Satan decks typically run ding dong? Because she's proving ridiculously useful in mine.

In the early game she protects other followers, prevents me from dying, and helps draw Satan. After playing Satan, she continues protecting against death and also draws a free apocalypse card. Plus you can play her alongside any apocalypse card other than Astaroth's.

Runecraft can play earth rite or spellboost. They don't have to mix and match, they're different mechanics for different decks.

But if you mean "PTP Forest" the deck, the reason that deck was broken was absolutely rhinoceroach. PTP was the uninteractive backup wincon against control decks that allowed you to charge up to 30 shadows; plan A against decks that put some pressure on you i.e. most of them, was deal chip damage with fairies and elves until you can get in a roach turn (sound familiar?). Maybe pull out PTP at the last minute if your opponent has finished dominating board but hasn't killed you yet and you've gotten sufficiently lucky with altered fates.

Yes, that is my opinion, and the deck is in fact stronger now. It just happens to have changed names after the process of cutting the worst old cards to include the best new cards ended up cutting the PTP package entirely.
Look, you're obviously someone who has their head on right, so there's not much point in carrying on as if I have something to teach you, but the fact of the matter is that when PTP forest was so strong it posed a problem to the game itself, its strongest and therefore most problematic card was roach. Roach was central to why the deck was so good. The actual PTP part of the deck including fast shadow generation was incidental, and in fact so incidental that some people dropped it as soon as the next expansion printed cards to replace it with and it has now been completely abandoned. When they threw nerfs at the kind of deck that was suited to charging shadows quickly, forest remained top tier, because PTP was never the problem. Roach (plus backup from the new expansion giving forest more than literally nothing) was the problem, and still is the problem.

Most turns are paint-by-numbers, sure, that's just how it goes. But the fact that some matchups change dramatically as you look at data from more experienced players (most notably the ones with aggro blood, rip in pieces vampy) strongly implies that skill is a thing, a lot of people don't have it, and it is a relevant factor in a lot of games, if perhaps not a strict majority of them

I'm saying as the only storm card in forest, of course it's going to be their main finisher and why you see a high usage for a game ending with it. Dragon has several storm cards though to finish with, so it wouldn't just be forte every time, forest really doesn't have the same diversity in finishers, and that needs to be understood in this situation. A strong and basically the only finishing card they have, other than silverbolt but that has a deck built around it too and that is what forests lacks, and why their decks are built around roach or silverbolt.

Ptp is definitely much weaker, without being able to charge shadows as fast it does not have the "backup" win condition, so there is no reason to play that deck over a pure roach or even tempo deck. It's true the meta is faster now and ptp is just weaker in general, but if ptp could still charge shadows as fast it would be broken deck, instead of the rather weak deck it is currently. Maybe if the meta slows down after something like a daria ptp will make a comeback? I doubt it, but it could happen.

PTP died because Daria (and huge creatures to being with) is too much for Forest to deal with. That's it. PTP was already having trouble against mid sword, a previously favorable matchup, after Homecoming was nerfed since WotF doesn't handle Otohime. Daria is basically mid sword on steroids.

Doesn't help that PTP is unfavored against Seraph and just like with Elana, Bahamut kills amulet wincons on the control side, not to mention the Odins everywhere. Also 2 mana Harvest Festival was insane.

If mid sword and regular tempo forest ever return to prominence, they would destroy OTK Roach and PTP would likely become more popular again.

what I'm saying is that pure roach should be considered as the successor to pre-nerf PTP forest much more than modern PTP forest should be. Pre-nerf PTP forest was not defined by its relationship with PTP the card, as a deck it was merely "the best forest deck" (compared to the silverbolt and fairy dancer builds). In DE after forest's shadow generation was nerfed, "the best forest deck" continued to be named PTP, though some people will disagree with me there. But now in 2017 "the best forest deck" is called pure roach. The deck now called pure roach still is a closer analogue to the broken PTP forest decks we discuss than the deck now called PTP forest is, because being broken is a more important resemblance than running PTP is

Also, FWIW, I think the real reason PTP roach is dead right is wolfbolt... there are reasons to run slower wincons in your forest deck regardless of what the meta at large looks like, but when you look at people who deckbuilt for those reasons they just end up running wolfbolt because it's so much more straightforward than AF/PTP. I'd bet dollars to donuts that if forest got a garbage legendary this xpac instead of wolf, PTP forest would still be placing in tournaments

I used evolved eyfa to chip away at hp then dropped maelstrom and seabrand at the same time when I can hit lethal. I only have 1 forte so I use 2x seabrand but I've been thinking of using 3x forte 3x eyfa and 3x or 2x seabrand in the deck.

IMO that's because of all the good pilots and deckbuilders hopping ship to other forest decks. If PTP forest wasn't such a complete dead end, you'd have more serious players tweaking the lists, you'd have more serious players running it on ladder instead of just grognards, and you'd see better performance from PTP forest. But that's the realm of speculation at this point

Highly doubt Cygames will touch Levi or Piercing Rune.

OP here. I have a tempo rune account (rolled two Darias and two Levis, proceeded to burn everything and make a third copy of each), which I've been playing for the past day or so, but I'm not really big on mages. I enjoy winning, but I enjoy winning with a deck I like even more.
