The whole zone is a gank fiesta. Safety in numbers is the key here! If your faction controls Hemet you get a brief bubble of safety that is strongest near the camp and weakens the further you venture away from it, allowing that faction to quest a little bit until the other faction regroups and makes the next push. Horde and Ally went back and forth for hours taking control of the camp. Even with stealth I was only able to get 2/10 tigers because there are random groups of 5 ally or horde roaming all over the place.

Every once in awhile somebody of the losing faction will make a mad dash for Hemet to turn in a quest. That's a free kill.

I didn't make a lot of exp but many memories.

Elysium is full of chinks, goldsellers, hackers, 60's who are bored and are sweeping the zones killing people, has to many players and not enough mobs.
the pros however are, more people make it easier to find instance groups and when people move on to another game and quit vanilla wow, it'll more likely have more people than zeth.

Zeths cons, are a low population and a slowly growing chink, gold seller population. more cons will come as the server gets older, eventually zeths 60's will roam lower zones killing people, a fear is once the server or people get bored zeth will be left with to few players to have a good experience with.
A pro is that less players means more mobs, so leveling should be easier and less painful than Elysium is currently.

Really you just got to do ask yourself how long you see yourself playing and how long you see others playing.

Don't worry, HellGround is just like Valkyrie (elysium for you reddit friendos) they have been around for 8 years too, but their raids actually work. They're one of the only tbc servers with working chess, and best of all they're following blizzlike content release.

the first month of vanilla I ran around aimlessly, I was a level 5 human warrior and running around Darnassus. i remember talking to somebody in chat and seeing they were level 10 in Westfall and thought it'd take me forever to get to that. i remember one night i just sat in Lakeshire jumping around talking to people in chat, that is the only thing i did in WoW that night.

before i'd only be able to play for a few hours and it'd be inefficient, now i'm sitting here for 8 hours just rushing through quests and dungeons

For anyone wondering how "difficult" MC was...

I killed Ragnaros a few days after the World First clear, and Nef probably two weeks after the WF.

MC was not terribly difficult -- even back then with no knowledge we managed to clear up to Baron in our first lock. Like most said, the problem was getting 40 competent people. For a while we were clearing up to Rag with 30 people. Rag was the first fight where we weren't just limited by our DPS (which was always a problem back then).

No.... A lot of people were raiders in Everquest, lineage, ASHERONS CALL. Most classes uses like 2-3 buttons, a rogue just kept SND up as combat daggers/rogues and did 100% damage. A frost mage just spammed frostbolt with gems... the game was laughably easy, but the gear requirement and the room for error was small... for example if you went oom as a healer, you couldnt get mana back with any way basically except to wait for the 5 second heal to kick in. The game wasn't very dynamic or forgiving. Also a tank quitting set your guild back 4 months, if not totally disbanded your guild(GL trying to get full Tier 2 + shield + thunderfury or god help you TIER3 tank gear).
