I mean, there WOULD be enough, if resilience didn't reduce the main stat of the game by 50%.

Destro needs 100 haste and 25% crit to function properly. 25% effective crit, that is, so with resilience you need 35%.
There's not enough stats to go around to support both high crit, spd, haste and resilience.

Who would've thought that a class that relies on crits, but has no active crit boosting talents would suffer from resilience, huh.

Damage mitigation is equivalent to effectiveness of healing.
Example.
If a warlock eats a healthstone and heals himself for 2k, you need to do 2k more damage to kill him.

If the warlock has 50% damage mitigation and eats a healthstone for the same 2k, you need to do 4k damage to kill him.

Damage mitigation effectively increases both the health pool and healing received for the mitigator.

I don't know how blizzard didn't foresee the consequences of this significant side effect.

Resilience and haste are both shite, though, and are fundamentally broken as GEAR STATS.

It's because they scale differently than other stats and it makes no sense to have them take up ilvl points.

It's simply the way the math works. 10% haste is 10% more dps for both a low geared and high geared player, yet 180 haste points (or whatever you need to get 10%) is a much larger percentage of a lower level gear's ilvl than higher level gear's ilvl.
The conversion is non-linear, it's broken.

Same deal with resilience.

It's just poor design and adds uncontrollable variables to the system.

Another example.

Let's say everyone has 100 stamina and 100 resilience.
Let's pretend 100 stamina is 1k health and 100 resilience is 10% mitigation and everyone does 50 DPS. You need 22.(2) seconds to kill an equally geared opponent, doing 45 points of effective damage.

Now let's say another tier of content opened up and everyone upgraded their gear.
Now everyone has 200 stamina (2k health), 200 resilience (20%) mitigation and does 100 DPS. The stats have doubled.
But look. Now you need 25 seconds to kill an equally geared opponent.

That's called negative scaling and it's really bad.
If you just keep increasing stats linearly, you will eventually reach 100% mitigation and everyone will be immortal.

Do I have to say that this is a problem?

This is probably why the stat system and damage scaling has gone full retard in subsequent expansions.

Finally, let me just add that pvp is not theorycrafting. It's not raiding where you can calculate things like how long it takes to kill somebody with x resilience. Even playing with 1300 resilience there is nothing stopping you from dying in a switch deep freeze to a spriest/mage. Hell, playing against some cleaves you just have to pray that you dont get global'd. TBC had a slower pace, but if we were to keep using your example, wotlk should have more instances of "immortal" players, as resilience has been added season after season after season.

But PvP gear should have damage as high as PvE gear. How to fix that? Give bosses larger health pools and give PvE gear even MORE dps.
But now PvE gear does too much damage on PvP gear. So you have to add more resilience.

When an enemy player has vastly higher resilience than you, there is no hope of winning simply because you will not be able to do enough damage, while he does full damage.
Not only that, he heals for more too.

When two players are both glass cannons, you can kill a higher geared player as long as you avoid damage.
You can avoid getting hit through CC and positioning, but you can't magically negate resilience by any means.

They don't call guns "equalizers" for a reason.

I don't think its quite that black-and-white, the top guild on HG for a long time was Alliance for example. Ultimately, with a server population in the range of Hellground's, a couple of guilds' decision of faction can and will have a major impact. So from the viewpoint of server health, I of course think it would be better if /wpsg/ did roll Alliance, and I don't think it would be detrimental to them in any way, but other than for that reason I have no preference (well alright, there are some nice people on /wpsg/).

How are feral cats in 2.4.3 WPvP?
I want to be a shithead ganker in the open world, but support in PvE.

Paladins: Great tanks, Ret weaker PvP.
Druids: Good heals, (mediocre tanks? Not sure), and not sure about cat PvP.

Also was considering hunter but their PvE rotation is literal warlock 1-button max dps. (Auto/Steady Shot macro) and I can't do an entire expansion pressing one button.
