Read the General problems FAQ before asking questions. If you still need help, post your specs (speccy screenshot), OS, emulator version number and details of what's wrong.

Please contribute to the wiki if you discover any inaccuracies or have relevant information to append.

READ THE WIKI BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS LIKE:
>Where do I get games
OR
>What is the best emulator for...

Check out the wiki for the emulator you're using if you run into trouble, there may be a solution there too, often including recommendations for optimal game settings.

Remember to submit bug reports or shit won't get fixed.

you can always edit the playlist files and add the roms you want, unless you have trouble with the whole set or something
>>
>>166147962
You can make custom playlists to add stuff not picked up by scanning.

This javascript thing seems to work pretty well. Just copy the path of the folder where your DS ROMs are to the Path field, drag and drop the roms onto the page, then export the lpl, name it "Nintendo - Nintendo DS Decrypted.lpl" and place it in the playlist folder.

rpcs3 (the ps3 emulator) is now launching a Patreon to have a developer work on the project full time. It can already run some real games like Persona 5 and the Hatsune Miku games (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ETbIuD6d0c and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N12u_mg3_xM) but more work is needed.

Bros, please help. I'm running the FBA core in RetroArch (I'm on OSX). I used to run all roms just fine on Windows. But now every CPS2 game I try crashes the emulator. The only one I can play atm is Final Fight, it runs perfectly. But otherwise, can't even play Super SFII.

I tried putting QSound in my ROM folder. Tried 2 different files. Didn't work.

Neo Geo works just fine though.

So now that even using emulators is illegal, as well as dumping your own roms from your own copies, are you people going to abide by the law?
>>
>>166173107
go back to >>>/v/, and learn to read. They don't explicitly state emulators are illegal.
>>
>>166173107
this is legalese horseshit and Nintendo knows it. There's nothing they can do about emulators so they resort to scare tactics directly linking emulation to piracy. The fact of the matter is that putting a disk you own (or dumping a cartridge) and playing that with an emulator you own is not illegal, has never been illegal, and never will be illegal. Claiming otherwise is a lie.

I honestly hope Nintendo sues Cemu just to prove a point that closed source emulators are bad if they shutter due to not wanting to fight, but I'd still donate to them to help them fight if they did. There is clear legal precedent that emulation is legal and Nintendo would get laughed out of court.

>CEMU dweebs are this delusional.
There is legal precedent of Sony getting rekt in court over a commercial emulator on a competitor's system.
In case of CEMU money wouldn't even be a problem as they are getting 5K per month and when the law suit hits all they need to do is release the source code and rake in donations.

Is it even possible to make lobbies for all of those games and it would be an automated feature? I thought netplay would just consist of someone connecting to an ip that was given to you by the host beforehand and it won't move past that.
>>
>>166203952
It doesn't make lobbies for specific games youdumbfuck, it'll be something like "hey this guy is hosting this session with this orm and emulator" then you can join or not, there's no need for game specific lobbies

>>
>>166203434

>>166204568
But that's how it actually works. The host sends the crc of their rom and what emulator they have open (because RetroArch does netplay based on save states) and the guest connects with the same rom and emulator open.
>>
>>166203952
I've been following development of this feature.

From Github:
>Ok this works, it can connect to games underway, and it can do a deferred connection after a game is loaded.
Missing:
One click connect (look for correct core, correct game and load)
Connect using to a room that has specified a different port that what the client has configured
Left and Right callbacks on the rooms
RGUI/GLUI menu entries
Starting a host from the vertical menu

From discord:
>radius - Today at 12:38 PM
I want to use the hooks we have in place for several things
1. achievements of course
2. challenges
3. have some sort of game coordination on netplay (for supported games)
for instance, if 4 people join in mario kark
kart
have a scoring system and a system that rotates players depending on who loses
since we're adding lobbies
might as well do something with them
if the game doesn't have any entries, just let the hoster do the game coordination

Define good. I think though something like proper RSP/RDP emulators could be done, however with r4k/core, current emulators are currently kinda screwed thanks to the counter factor stuff, which is a consequence of no cycle accuracy.

Having something non plugin based would be cool indeed, but again, you run into problems thanks to CF and other things. I am curious how mupen/1964/pj64 pulled out VI refresh timer vals and stuff from thin air (magic numbers like 1500 and shit)

As it stands, the lobby loads with players hosting games and then the client loads the game/core and connects. it's pretty seamless as far as that goes, but it just seems cumbersome comparitively. I recently switched to a new computer, and whenever I try running Kega Fusion, the fast-forward option works strangely. It's not consistent and at times plays the game at normal speed despite fast-forward being on (to give an example, it runs at 999.9FPS at the start of the S3&K Angel Island cutscene, then rapidly drops frames until it's 60.0FPS like normal until the level starts and it shoots back up to 999.9). I'm not seeing anything in the config that could fix this and the wiki doesn't mention it being a problem, and I don't think it has anything to do with my specs since the computer is faster than my old one and I never had this problem there, and because the CPU usage barely goes up by 10% when I switch fast forward on (I could post the specs if it's really needed though). Has anyone had this issue before and if so did you figure out a way to fix it?
>>

You heard wrong. The 3DS has the GBA hardware on its SoC and runs GBA games at 100% full speed.

I think I know what you're thinking of though. The emulator used for GB VC games has software GBA emulation in it, and you can inject GBA ROMs into that, but it runs super slow. Don't know why Nintendo even bothered making that when the 3DS has full hardware compatibility with the GBA.

For example people said we need Dx12 because Ratchet & Clank is slow on good computer. Then I implemented a kinds of mipmapping and now it is much faster. As you can see the speed isn't about hype API versus older API.

Dolphin has multiple people working on different backends. You are free to contribute to a vulkan backend for PCSX2 if you want but the people whining about this shit aren't the ones with the technical knowledge to do so.

AC2 works fine, misaligned HUD notwithstanding (all gfames have that).
AC2AA works fine minus missions that use the heat distortion effect which need software still because hardware goes slower than it
AC3 might depending if they fixed the depth emulation ing OGL being ridiculously slow (at one point it was 10 fps regardless of wwhat you had now it's a bit under fullspeed on high end hardware) in it (you'll know during the first mission if it's the case since it's the most intensive part of the game pretty much), but there's still the odd graphic bug regardless of backend DX has lights through walls too and obviously anything using the heat distortion effect will slow the shit out of the game.
SLAC, has most of the same issues as 3
No sane human plays Nine Breaker so I dunno
NEXUS and LR require OGL and are much heavier than the other two.

There's like 10 to 20 titles worth playing for every given console, as long as those run and my son will be able to play them I can't give a shit about muh accuracy

Maybe only the best consoles of all times that is the SNES and PS1 have more than 20 good titles.

All run 100â„… perfect

> Zeruda no Densetsu: Kaze no Takuto HD
Runs at 30 FPS until I meet lava lakes on dragon roost island, and when sailing very fast.
In those cases, runs at 15 FPS.
Audio is good

>Barack Obama Tropical Freeze
Unfortunately bad graphic glitches, slowdowns and most importantly BAD audio.
Unplayable for me.

Also occasionally on any game, full screen goes black and I have to hit ESC to go to window mode again. My screensaver is disabled.

>>

I don't know what he used to do. Ask him, he's around sometimes.

Byuu is very committed to preservation, he takes it to extremes but that causes difficulties with actually using what he's putting out these days.
He also lives in a hugbox and closes his forums to new users regularly to prevent dissenters from entering and riling him up.

Everyone is strange in their own way. Byuu just doesn't hide his strangeness very well.

It costs much less than a DS3. The DS3 would be a good investment if he also intended to use it with a phone.

The DS4 doesn't have the pressure sensitive buttons which makes playing MGS2/3 a pain in the dick.

Generally you just go into your router config and then there's an area you can go to to open ports. You just type the port number in there and save.

>>
>>166415345
I think the over the top sexual theme is important
>>
>>166415345
The over the top sexual theme is kinda the point. You feeling bad about it is the message it's trying to convey.
It's kinda referencing Japan's hikkikomori phase and saying that it's a bad thing to get caught up in the idea of super hot anime babes. You should get a fucking girlfriend (or in the case of the guy in the video, pay more attention to the one you already have and don't be upset because she isn't anime).

I don't feel bad about it per se. I am kinda burnt out on the over sexualization of everything to the point I respond to it like a joke that got ran into the ground. Its like society is trying too hard forcing sex into everything. I want to buy a car, not fuck it.

I also spent a few years working with a nude photographer for magazines and shit like that so if I'm not in the mood tits are just bags of fat.

you need to have something actually listening in the port for it to show open.

>>
>>166420132
It certainly makes the message more confusing.
Like how in anime when people are speaking english, it becomes confusing if they then start speaking japanese, because they don't actually change.
And what do you do in a dub when the japanese people, who are speaking english, come across an english speaker and try to communicate in english? Make them speak japanese? That wouldn't make sense.

See that colored icon all the way to the right? It's actually a cover art of one of the games in my library. This usually happens when I stop playing a particular game and go back to the main menu, the cover of the last game I played replaces the last icon on my playlist. I've noticed that whenever this happens I need to restart the RetroArch because my game remaps won't load anymore.

Is there any way to fix this?
>>
Anyone know where I can download a preconfigured frontend like emulationstation setup with all emulators and bios included for Windows PC. All that would have to be done is to add roms? The wiki has nices resources for roms but nothing of this nature.
>>
>>166424042
For that you'd need someone to have downloaded all the emulators and bundled them up in your package as well. Retroarch is the closest you're going to get.
There's a bios pack for retroarch on the wiki.
>>
>>166424302
Yup but it doesn't support emulators like dolphin yet.

PS. I came from https://emulation.miraheze.org/wiki/Emulator_Files
is this site ripping you guys off or is it a valid mirror?
>>
>>166424721
That's was where the wiki moved to when gametechwiki died for about a month or so.
>>
>>166424721
Well emulationstation is a simple frontend to set up, but you'd still need to do a bit of work yourself.
>>
>>166412187
Heres the PCSX2 quarterly progress report
>Mipmapping implemented
>OSD messages
>Added new patches to make shovelware trash from non bootable to playable.

Is there a way to create/edit custom rdb files for use with custom playlists? I'd like to get some custom icons set up for playlists containing specific series rather than systems. Not to mention it's mostly translated roms and whatnot.
