So I posted this last thread but it died shortly afterwards. I'm following the 3ds.guide and I'm on restoring the system part but I can't boot into hourglass9. Everything is named properly and I've tried renaming it to down and x instead of start but that didn't work either. Everything just takes me to the failed to mount ctrnand screen unless I hold select to boot into the luma main menu. Any ideas?

Hey guys, I was trying to update my old 3ds XL to be able to run it without an SD card inserted so i could give it to my brother.

i followed this guidehttps://dev.3ds.guide/updating-a9lh but i didn' thave a "files9" folder but it says only worry about it if you have it so i just ignored it. When i go to the payload part it went through the installation and was succesfull but my 3ds now no longer boots at all with or without the sd card and i don't have the old sd card setup backed up anywhere.

Is there any solution to getting this thing running again in anyway? I don't really play it so it's not a huge loss but i was gonna give it away.

I'm running Wii U software version 5.5.1 and successfully installed the kernel exploit and Homebrew Channel. However, I don't have any e-shop titles installed, nor am I willing to purchase anything from the e-shop.

I know that I can't run the cold-boot exploit without this. However, I am confused as to what exactly I will be able to do after this point. Should I still look to install RedNAND?

My primary goal at this point for the Wii U is to be able to install Smash 4 DLC, and run the Wii U gamepad emulator via GC controller hack reliably after booting up and running the browser based exploit.

If I am able to install Smash 4 FLC, will it only work once I run the exploit? Will the regular game stored on a flash drive by accessible without it?

Relevant information would be great.

DQ8 orchestral undub anon here.

First of all, this game has some weird intricate region lock protection so even making the rom itself region free won't get you past the SD extra data screen if you're not using region emulation feature of Luma (or have a matching region 3DS). It simply can't be bypassed, the guy behind DQ8 Restoration actually told me there was another 3DS game that also had such bullshit protection though that was some japanese game.

Secondly, I am now looking into the victory jingle being louder, problem is I can't find the bloody bastard so this will take a while.

I didn't make it for myself, I made it for a guy here on /hbg/ few months back and simply posted it on 3DSISO because it wouldn't hurt to share with more people.

Personally I'm waiting for the fantranslation to get fully finished until I even touch that game, hence why I didn't keep that package.

You're doing something wrong because I have EUR 3DS and my US version undub works fine with US DLCs when using Luma region emulation.
I bet you fucked up and didn't make the txt, or made the txt and forgot to enable the region emulation itself in luma settings.

Also status update on jingles.

Thankfully there isn't anything in sound_data.bscar

It seems that it simply is the case of the volume being increased in the code for the English version, and as such I'll leave the jingles with their English-version files since they're identical to the JPN ones anyway.

As in jingles are synth in both JPN and ENG, just lower volume in ENG.

Currently repacking the rom. This should mark the v3 of this and hopefully final.

And before anyone asks, no I won't be doing voiceover undub.

Trying to convert SNES .smc roms to .cia, anyone know why the banner.bcwav file I create sounds crackly when I load it up on new3DS? the original audio.wav file I used is 148kb and a 32-bit float file under 3 seconds, yet the audio sounds like a static television when I hover over the icon of the rom on the new3DS screen. I'm curious, because the SNES custom graphic I added still shows up, yet the audio is fucked up.
