I have this build with falcon1 instead of scout and even after the buffs sapper is still useless.

Broom trap does some aoe damage but is low, 3k's hits when you can do 100ks with cannon blast, claymore takes forever to setup and its not worth the time barely does more than cannon shot, and cannons shot x2 on flyings(on my case around 50k) but takes FUCKING FOREVER TO SET UP and you'll prob be interrupted and the skill canceled, all the other skills literally suck and are completely useless.

Ignore people saying Pyro 2. It's Pyro 3 or not at all.
Adds 50% more damage to your fireballs, lets you use Firewall which is gimmicky as fuck but potentially insane damage. It also grants you access to Hellbreath which is decent damage on it's own but Hellbreath has a debuff that increases all fire damage dealt by 50% (and it's not +50%, it's 50% of the final damage).

Rank 2 Pyro drops a fireball that does 20k damage with 10 hits.
Rank 3 Pyro drops a fireball that does 30k damage with 15 hits.

If you don't think that's a big difference, you're pretty crazy.

After this you got a few options.
Linker is always good. Linker 2 is even better.
Thaumaturge is likewise really good right now and Thaumaturge 2 is even better. (Thaum 2 can give you 700-800 bonus damage)
Sage works well too because of duplicating fireballs and offers some utility.
Enchanter also works really well. 500 bonus damage (amplified by agni), and you can make scrolls of things like flame ground, joint penalty, hangmans knot and so on.
Cryo 3 is also really good. It's gimmicky as fuck and more focused on PVP, but you can do shit like drop down your tree and suck shit into your fireballs and even snowroll over your fireballs and people for insane damage. (If you go this build, go Sage as well because you can also duplicate ice tree)

I personally went Pyro 3, Linker, Thaum 2 and Enchanter. I'm not struggling with any content including rank 8 stuff. I'm using shitty gear, but I got enough damage to damage anything in the game and still bring a lot of utility. If I had the money, I could hand out joint penalty scrolls too and be welcome in literally any party in the game (you ever seen a party with 5 people capable of using joint penalty?).

Cannon doesn't really have much synergy with previous classes in my opinion.
Sapper indeed got some buffs, but they weren't near enough what the class needed to be playable. Too much setup time, a lot of monsters can cancel your stuff, things being really limited to flying/not flying, C3 skills like collar bomb and spike shooter being trash and useless.
I'm not sad with my decision of going sapper3 and I like my cannoneer, but I will say that sapper3 is really weak right know, so if you expect a lot from it, you might regret going into it.

Cannon2 on R8 content feels quite weak compared to other classes, since Smoke Grenade can be resisted and don't affect flying or bosses, and other classes for the most part don't have such limitation.
Slow Skill casts-animations, and all of them can be interrupted besides Cannon Blast.

It's slow compared to other classes that are currently strong, but you can clear content with it. The buffs that have yet to come on Bazooka, will definitively change that, especially in the aoe scenario for Cannon Blast and Cannon Barrage.

I can tell you right now, there are times when you will not be able to use fireball and being able to lure more enemies into spare fireballs is helpful.

I can also tell you there are many times when two fireballs will not kill an enemy group (go solo the 290 dungeon and see how far your level 10 fireballs take you against mages and fighters).

I can also tell you have not done much end game content because there are infact times when you have to either defend things or beat DPS checks, and in these cases having lots of fireballs spread out over an area is easy to do and helps a lot.

You sound like someone who used the rank reset to make a Pyro and hasn't really played around with one much. I levelled to rank 8 with almost nothing but Pyro spells long before Agni was added, and I had to learn many tricks along the way. Tricks that even now are relevant in end game content.

If you want a damage dealing Wizard class right now, Pyro is the centerpiece of it and all other choices are support for Pyro. Wizards are lacking damage dealing classes right now and there is absolutely no guarantee rank 9 will fix this.

Elementalist into Warlock is one of three other decent damage dealing builds Wizard has (other is Pyro and Featherfoot, though FF is more for PVP). And it's inferior to a Pyro with an Agni.

Necromancer is a terrible class though that only exists to afk farm Bees. I think anyone who actually has a Necro will tell you the class is not in a good position for dealing damage right now.

Necro3 can do damage. Link + FC can one shot most R8 mobs(as many many skills also can), the main problem with necro is everything else being useless. FC alone is a good skill and you can ramp up the damage by using link+pole and even get few #1s on missions.

But that's it, everything else about the class sucks. Skeletions sucks, Shoggoth sucks, Flesh Hoop suck and Flesh Strike sucks, Thats it the class is rendered to AFK farming AND Flesh Cannon, everything else is useless.

2 upgraded glass bracelets, max petamion and didel tower shield should be pretty solid. The petamion can be any high level necklace though, like a guardian something. The def ranking bonus really helped out here.

I used to play DC Universe Online and I really liked their PvP system.

You can PvP and earn points and these points are limited per day. With these points, you can use them to buy PvP gears.

The thing about gears and PvP in this game was that PvE gears were absolute dog shit in PvP and vice versa. Eventually within a reasonable frame of time everyone got their end-game PvP gears and were fighting on equal ground. Whoever had more skills win.

I just wish ToS would have a similiar route when it comes to PvP. Heck, you can't even get end-game PvE equipments in a reasonable amount of time so I doubt this will catch on.

IMC doesn't make money from transcending. Even if they put gems in gatcha, no one would buy gatcha just for the prospect of getting gems.

Honestly, my opinion is they should keep transcending and remove upgrading. It's a waste of limited money trying to anvil up something. At least with transcendence you can get a 100% chance to upgrade your weapon and not lose potential. Maybe combine the systems somehow.

How would trans cap at 2 help you? I have 2.1k magic defense with only 3 Nuaele cards and no transcended accessories. Transcended gear isn't why wizards can't hurt people in TBL, it's because most TBL wiz need to go full con to not be fucked by pears and malleus so they lose 500 damage compared to magic defend which has almost no stat scaling. I don't think anyone in TBL even uses trans accessories, it's just Lionhead shield+blue gem+a few Nuaele combined with the rank def bonuses makes you immune to a lot of spells that aren't meteor/rune of destruction.

Also you'd be making staves more or less unusable in TBL since they are only good when transcended. Wizards are only viable in PvP and the general game for damage with transcendence. Enchant Lightning is multiplied by Agni and attributes. On fireball mine (70% attribute) actually adds about 3200 damage to each tick of a fireball.

Sage is probably better for raw damage, but Enchanter is good for people who're too poor or lazy to get high transcended weapons and struggle against high mdef enemies.

Also Enchanter got double flame grounds and if you're linker also double links thanks to scrolls. (Though this shit can get costly if you rely on it too much)

Scrolls are kind of buggy right now though. If you use the ability first, then for some reason the scroll also goes on cooldown. You need to use the scroll first then the ability.

Well for starters, silver sink = value sink since things of value usually means they have a silver value.

Shards have value according to the players from how much they are willing to pay for them. If silver is expended, and as a result of that, value is permanently disappearing from the economy, then it is a sink. IMCs trade restrictions are also sinks, mind you, because real capital and commodities are being wasted as value is lost over time since silver has no standard and is subject to uncontrolled inflation.

But anyways, as far as ToS's economy is concerned, when I buy 100m worth of shards and transcend my weapon, even though that silver has been traded to other people in exchange for those shards, the fact that the shards were used for the weapon and are now not a part of the economy means value has been negated. Sure, I can dismantle my weapon to get some of the shards back, but since that means I lose my weapon + a % of the gems I invested; actual value is being sunk.

"Inherent silver value" doesn't mean much because there is a limitless supply of silver and there is no central authority that creates and regulates it. Silver and all currencies in MMO economies are like bitcoin, because individual players can always produce more.

If you mean what I think, then that's sort of a different argument, because shards do indirectly generate more currency from people farming more silver in order to buy more shards when they wouldn't have otherwise, but that's irrelevant.

My point is that shards are indeed a silver sink because of the way IMC designed extraction of gems/equipment and the trade restrictions on shards to an extent, and also that in ToS, silver sinks are not just for currency but for real capital and commodities as well because while in the real world you can almost always generate currency off of any good of value, in ToS you cannot because of the trade restrictions IMC has put in place.

Fencers are tier 1 for raids and demon lords but if you don't plan to do either, then yea, there's no point in leveling up so just save cards for whenever r9 comes. Some r8 maps also give tons of exp if you ever decide to use it to farm orange weapon mats for your other alts.
