All of the playable characters from battle except Chaos and Gamma. Omega is added and uses Gamma's moveset. Also add Metal Sonic, Blaze, Silver and Espio. Plot starts with Silver traveling back in time and trying to destroy Gemerl, declaring that he'll cause an apocalypse. Sonic fights him off, but the initial attack scrambles Gemerl's circuits, forcing him to relearn how to fight. The story then involves Eggman Nega having traveled back in time and invaded Blaze's world again, with his plan being to steal the Sol Emeralds and Jeweled Scepter, then travel into Sonic's world to steal the Chaos Emeralds and Master Emerald so he can use their combined power to become a god, or something. This justifies the presence of Blaze and Silver, as well as Metal Sonic since Eggman obviously doesn't want his descendant to succeed.

I'm not 100% down on the switch hardware wise, I'm more curious.
/v/ of course thinks that you can slam a console into a category of "Its this system in terms of power" but I'd like to see how that Nvidia chip and the use of ARM along with the various API's it supports helps it run games.
If anything seeing Sonic 2017 on it is some what hopeful for its power and will be an extremely interesting version of the game, I mean we already know the system is running games like Steep, and some UE4 games so I wonder how it stacks up.

Literally every Sonic handheld platformer game except Lost World. If people don't care about those then they're not going to care about doing more of that on consoles long term. Mania will sell a bunch because it has hype behind it, but it's currently being thought of as a side-game that's a one-off with the potential to be a side-series, not as what the main series should end up being.

I've always preferred the greater freedom of movement that the Adventure games gave rather than the more linear, focused boost-a-thons of the later games. As much as I enjoyed the likes of Generations, I'd like to have something a bit more Adventure in the future.

The problem I suppose is that boost works and for the most part fixes the problems of the Adventures admittedly often dodgy controls, though fixes it by mostly taking those controls away.
