Gelb 2 is a daddy and installed in Directus after the war. I don't think he went to help this war, especially being a SF grunt

Interview #03
‘The Bringer Of Death’

Oured, Osea
22 Sep, 2005

Schwarze Leader
Dominic ‘Vulture’ Zubov
Belkan Air Force / 13th Night Fighter Air Division / 6th Tactical Fighter Squadron

This man was head of the command group, and was known as the ‘Vulture’.
He fled after the final battle in order to avoid persecution for various war crimes.
He is still on the run, and is being hunted as an escaped killer.

“Sorry about the accommodations, it goes with the business. I’m not active during the day.”

“Back then, I was a shadow assassin, an ‘escapee killer’.
Given the order, I’d even shoot down my own comrades.
I received an order on that day to take down a deserting craft.
It was typical assignment. But… something unexpected happened.
My target was no new recruit, but a top ace of the Belkan Air Force.
And he just had to go and run straight into the chaos at the Round Table.
The man was sharp, just like the rumors.”

“But that wasn’t the problem; the problem was that the mercenary team of Solo Wing and Him were there.
Thanks to them, I lost my target.
I figured the least I could do was take them down in return.”

“Of course, that was where my luck ran out.”

I think it's weird that we got no "traitors" in the enemy air force in all AC games
I mean they deal with nuclear weapons, WMD and some sci-fi shit
How come nobody among them said "we're the bad guys, i should defect and fight them back !"

>The meeting produced a conciliatory response, which was sent (in Nixon's name) to Brezhnev. At the same time, it was decided to increase the Defense Condition (DEFCON) from four to three. Lastly, they approved a message to Sadat (again, in Nixon's name) asking him to drop his request for Soviet assistance, and threatening that if the Soviets were to intervene, so would the United States.[326]

>The Soviets placed seven airborne divisions on alert and airlift was marshaled to transport them to the Middle East. An airborne command post was set up in the southern Soviet Union, and several air force units were also alerted. "Reports also indicated that at least one of the divisions and a squadron of transport planes had been moved from the Soviet Union to an airbase in Yugoslavia".[327] The Soviets also deployed seven amphibious warfare craft with some 40,000 naval infantry in the Mediterranean.

>The Soviets quickly detected the increased American defense condition, and were astonished and bewildered at the response. "Who could have imagined the Americans would be so easily frightened," said Nikolai Podgorny. "It is not reasonable to become engaged in a war with the United States because of Egypt and Syria," said Premier Alexei Kosygin, while KGB chief Yuri Andropov added that "We shall not unleash the Third World War."[328] The letter from the U.S. cabinet arrived during the meeting. Brezhnev decided that the Americans were too nervous, and that the best course of action would be to wait to reply.

Sometimes I wonder if, in the field of international politics, we severely overestimated the "Evil" of the USSR. For sure, it was repressive and what have you domestically, but I've always had severe doubts that it was expansionist or such after say 1950. (Or at the least, no moreso than the US)

As an entity it's almost saddening that we beat it.

>There are no known aces (in terms of air-air combat fight with at least five downed foes) of the Afghanistan war and the ongoing 21st century conflicts. It is actually more likely that flying aces will not occur due to technological changes. This is due to the fact that the traditional fighter-versus-fighter dogfight is extremely rare in contemporary warfare, as unmanned aircraft and other computerized technology, including anti-aircraft missiles, have taken a prominent place in contemporary air combat.[citation needed]

Very sad.

Iran has been remarkably slothful in that endeavour.
Thank Goodness we stood steadfast beside our Wahabi allies Saudi Arabia instead. That surely came in useful in Afghanistan, and now in Iraq...

I didn't say the CIA supported Osama. I said that Saudi Arabia is a menace.

I just posted the picture because, regardless of CIA support, Osama got himself a puff piece in the independent.

The F-4 can carry all of that? That's pretty impressive.

Not all at once.

Roughly each row is what it can carry at once, with the exception of the Mk-81s which are the last two rows.

I just like planes that can carry a lot of weapons, like the F-4, F-16XL, F-15E, and F-18s.

If I was thunder I would be telling you what make and model those phantoms are, production years, and all sorts of weird tidbits of autism.

This is an F-4B.

You can tell because of the fairing under the nose. On the F-4B and F-4C it housed the phantom's IRST. The IRST and fairing was removed for most of the F-4D's production run, but the fairing was re added later, to house RHAW equipment.

The big 'N' aft of the wing indicates that this is a NAVY plane, and thus an F-4B.

Is the man still alive?

Though I guess it is hard for bad guys like us to die.
The real heroes always manage to die first.
But guys like Him, Solo Wing and me?
We live the rest of our lives in hell.

Interview #01
‘A Pilot That Lives By Pride’

The University of Dinsmark, Belka
12 Oct, 2005

Rot 1
Detlef ‘Red Swallow’ Fleischer
Belkan Air Force / 2nd Air Division / 52nd Tactical Fighter Squadron

With his skill and demeanor, he was practically a poster boy for the armed forces.
Today he is a professor of history at the University of Dinsmark.

“Back then, I was bursting with pride. I wanted to lead us to victory, for Belka’s honor.
Staying where it was nice and warm wouldn’t accomplish anything.”

“My flight’s mission was to maintain air superiority in Area B7R, an essential area that we couldn’t allow to be violated. That day, when I heard the order from HQ for reinforcements, I became angry. The stationed force was in chaos because of just two mercenaries.
There was no way the mighty Belkan Air Force could lose to mere mercenaries.
My pride was shot and the Round Table was defiled.”
“What went wrong? Whatever it may be, the fact remains I was forced to walk a different path in life than the one I had envisioned.”

“Every time I flew with him, his skill stood out.
He was unstoppable.
He was cool-headed and proud; a combat professional.
‘Demon Lord’ fit him perfectly.
Maybe the man was blessed by the Goddess of War.

Before long, everyone had taken notice of him.
More and more would show up to watch him go off on sortie.
Mercenaries or maintenance crews, it didn’t matter.

Fucking scinfaxi

That fight is so easy if you've got UGBs to clear the defenses, but without them sometimes the fucker just decides "time for you to die" and annihilates you in an instant during an attack run.

This is why it's so important to keep your squad on Cover on canon runs; you need every possible kill to fill your F-14A kill gauge and get the bombcat.

Interesting.

We can see some nifty things from this.

A. They went to 360 default controls, which swap yaw and accel/decel

B. There appears to be no dedicated button for launching flares according to the control splash. Instead they appear to be on the MSSL, SPW, rotation. I hope that is a placeholder otherwise I am sure people will accidentally deploy flares a number of time.

Hey guys. Does anyone here still cares about ACI?
>>
>>166208704
Quite a few here still do, but I think it's safe to say most everyone here is retired
>>
>>166208704
I do. Can't play right now though.
>>
>>166208908
Retired uh? It's a shame, because ACI still (somewhat) fun for old gen game. I hope that AC7 will contain a interesting and fun Multiplayer mode.
>>
>>166208704
I would still be playing it if the game actually wanted me to keep playing it.
Seriously the fuel system (and anything similar) is the dumbest fucking thing I have ever seen F2P games do.
>>
>>166209771
I'm yet to understand why we still have a four hour cooldown for each unit. Come on the games was released two and half years ago and we still need to wait this amount of time just to play? I understand your pain anon.
>>
>>166210218
The missions aren't even long enough to justify the wait. I'm not waiting 12 hours for roughly 12 minutes of gameplay.

I still believe that if they just did something like War Thunder, horrible grind and all, it would have worked better. Would've got more money out of me anyway.
>>
>>166193864
I cycled through them, but the only options are OS, YK and RZ, there's no SP.

My recollection is that YK was the standard yuke colour.
>>
>>166210678
Each mission has six minutes maximum timer. So it's basically a potential of eighteen minutes for weekdays and thirty six minutes for weekends plus friday. This is why Supplied Fuel Timer needs to recharge at two hours rate (or less) rather than four.
>>
>>166211292
The only time I ever really saw missions run out of time was when the majority of the players were new. Otherwise missions tend to get blitzed through.

They seriously should not have gone with the system at all.

>>
>>166212041
Yup there is that. Especially in the Hard missions lobbies (the ones that give the most amount of money). Good thing that I have my 3DS with Pokemon Moon by my side while I wait for players to enter in the room.

What features from previous games would you like to see in AC7?

Personally I enjoyed the operations in ace combat 6, and the kill gauge in 5. Both of those added to the replayability of the games.

The ACZ's Assault Records plus a good amount of paintjobs for each plane.

One thing AH did well was the paint scheme editor, I'd definitely like to see something like that again, as well as being able to choose my own emblems.

Also, for the non-VR cockpit, I'd like it to be more zoomed out, as it was in 6. Being able to look down and see functioning blind flying instruments and the pilot's knees was cool as fuck.

Clicking the left analogue stick in AC Zero causes a green circle to appear in front of the aircraft.

Never been able to figure out or notice what purpose it serves.

Anyone?

Also, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (voice of Major Kusanagi in Ghost in the Shell S.A.C) was the Zero ADR Director. Who knew.

Boresight. It changed your targeting to lock on the target closest to the center
>>
>>166230656
It's more polished than zero, that's for sure.
>>
>>166230153

I dunno I preferred having interesting set piece missions, even if they were shorter than the kill gauge or operation missions.

For example, in AC5, I found the Desert Arrow/Lightning missions the most long and tedious.

There is a place for them, but I really liked the shorter, more narrative missions, especially toward the beginning when the war starts to ramp up.
>>
>>166231158

Interesting, but it already does this when you press Triangle, doesn't it? Targets close to the centre line/angle of attack from your nose get selected first?
>>
>>166231419
Not always, in several of the games, clicking triangle changes to a completely random target, whereas with the boresight >>166231158 described, activating it and then moving it over a target highlights that specific target, rather than having to mash triangle until you get the one you want.

Having one of those days again. Haven't done AC Zero in full for a few years. Destroyed the XBO, no problem. Got through B7R, no problem. Then I crashed like immediately in the Valley of the Kings and got killed by Pixy like 4 or 5 times before I destroyed him sustaining no damage myself.

You like to think you're [ocelot] pretty good [/ocelot] but I think if you don't do certain levels for a few years you do need to practice to get good at them again.

--June 6th, 1995

I was still in school at the time, but I’ll never forget the images I saw on the news that day.
The Belkans set off seven nuclear explosions on their own soil.
Maybe their old, militaristic leaders couldn’t stand the idea of Allied forces invading their land.
And declared to the world that the land to the north was the Holy Land of Belka.

According to the records, more than 12,000 people died.
It was a grand self-sacrifice that engulfed all.
The only thing remaining was the desolate landscape.

How did the people of Belka feel about what they saw?

What did He think of it, when He looked down on it from the sky?

seems reasonably intuitive. Just squash things in a given view until they look right then sort out the hard part with texturing.

Modelling a cockpit sounds like a nightmare, but for a purely exterior model where you can just make the windows opaque AC2 style it seems doable.

I've got about 300 hrs into it and I honestly cannot recommend it. It's fun to grind up to like tier 3/4 planes which can be done pretty easily if you just stick to one branch and do consistantly well. But the developers are actually cancer and they're slowly driving the playerbase away. They are constantly adding more P2W shit into the game to increase the grind for free players, and the grind is still an issue with Premium players. Give it a try, it's free and the models are really nice to just admire. But don't expect to be satisfied with the pay model or the playerbase.

Interview #05
‘The Witness’

Oured, Osea
31 Oct, 2005

Sorcerer 1
Anthony ‘Bedivere’ Palmer
Osean Air Force / 8th Air Division / 32nd Tactical Fighter Squadron

He’s been missing for sometime, along with Captain Bristow of the same unit, since the decisive Battle of Waldreich.
Captain Bristow is rumored to be one of the founding members of A World With No Boundaries.
Palmer’s ties to the Captain have led many to believe that he is a high-ranked individual within the group.
He currently works for an insurance company based in Oured, the capital city of Osea.

“‘Demon Lord’ was right.
Everything he touched fell apart.
I thought I was watching magic.”

“When I was in the military, they called me an ace too.
I got medals for my actions on numerous battlefields.
I’d never felt fear towards an opponent.
The same went for my ideals; I wasn’t afraid to take on even an entire country.”

“But when I was fighting him, something felt different.
At first I didn’t know what it was.
It wasn’t until I looked down and noticed my hands shaking on the flight stick that I realized…
It was fear.
It’s embarrassing, but once I felt that, I couldn’t fly anymore.
I felt guilt towards my companions at the time.”

“There’s always a war somewhere and I’m sure he’s on some battlefield somewhere fighting, even now.
He’ll always have a place to live.”

Since work isn't progressing according to a strict schedule I'm going to backlog some progress so that we have a gap in between what's being unveiled to the public and what we're actually developing so that we can have some room to work with if development has to stop for whatever reason. All of the dogfighting in the game is done through an "on-rails" system, that was meant to be the airplane version of aiming down the sights on Call of Duty, but it just a bunch of overly QTE segments.

There's also fucking helicopter missions that are just glorified turret sections. Also the plot takes place in our world, and is the most "Mid 2000's COD copycat middle east trouble" shit in the entire series.
