You could go back to a previous save to rush things and spread out your actions before finding Miki.

Still, it's definitely possible to beat Masamune without Sill, but you must be roughly lv60, at least 4 actions, learnt Rance Attack and learnt the secret of his eyedrops, so the pattern will be:
Rance sword > Masamune uses eyedrops > Rance sword > Masamune attacks > Rance sword > Masamune attacks > Rance Attack

Masamune can use either a regular attack or a strong attack, and if he uses the strong attack twice you're dead at lv60. There's also a chance he will not use the eyedrops after you attack him the first time, after which you're fucked if you have only 4 actions

If you don't care for points you could raise his level to 70+ which will make his fight and the rest of the bosses easier

Not him, but remember to use Rance to deal finishing blow to the last target. Equid all XP items to Rance - Patton and give spare ones to Magic - Sill. Also, the character has reached their lvl cap will not reduce the % XP the party could get, so try to use as much as possible for max xp.
The hard forest gives you 3k5 xp after one fight, the beginner and advance only give you 2k5 so you should grind at the hard forest. Beware of Hitler if you are several underlevel.
Bring Rance - Sakania - Rocky (Patton) at frontline, Shizuka - Maria + 1 at the backline. I prefer a healer, but Magic or a stunner should be fine, because you will get to fight 2x Stone Guardian there.
1 run should give Rance/Patton 50-100k xp, depend on %XP in your party.
Dump all your stat boosting items on Rance (except Magic of course). You should easily clear everything at lvl 70. I'm at 71 and feel like I'm overleveled in the last battle.

chances are you won't have many units that have enough troops to use the permit until turn 40 where the troop size goes past 1000

they are however useful in helping you quickly steamroll multiple houses although they will prioritize reclaiming lost territory first, and if your money is tight they might cause a strain if they lose too many units consistently

if you do want to rush at least one unit to 1000 you could get the popularity staff as a bonus and recruit Kanami ASAP who comes with around 600 or so troops at first otherwise you'd have to dig through east and west to take over Takuga to clear Ryoma and one of the siblings so they will merge their units

if you're short on points, items like the ryuuguu sword, stat boosters or guts armor can help you win your battles more easily, and the popularity staff can help you boost the troop size of squads that are expensive to increase its size like musketeers or Maria
