I've spent the last few days just doing training mode and I've done about half the trials for each character. Finished the story mode and all the character stories. When I get into a game though I just freeze and start spamming HP like a noobshit

Also he got 1st because he teamed with his brother Fenrich. He didn't actually win a single match, Fenrich just beat every single team alone since Iwashi lost every game. Season 2 patch, lets gimp the game more. Lets take the top of the offensive game, The invisible reversal, and the top of the defensive game, Blocking, and nerf them both so that the whole thing is one smaller easier to deal with package. No more free reversal DPs, watering down the cast into more the same design decisions, and lets power grey life so we can think of less blocking all together and just manage how the characters smash eachother.

Sticks are priced at a pricepoint that makes sense for business. It seems expensive and it is but that's what they need to cost. It also basically gets to a point where you're already paying X amount in parts to make them quality, you might as well spend the couple extra bucks per unit to make the cases nicer and if you're doing metal cases you should also probably do plexiglass so that it doesn't look like a metal hunk of shit, etc etc etc.

Like it sounds like a ripoff until you try to make a business out of it. Can you make one for yourself for cheaper? Of course, but that is literally every fucking product ever. My dad started building guitars. You can go down to guitar center and find some guitars that cost multiple thousands of dollars, especially when you're looking at custom stuff. What my dad has been doing is pretty much on par with custom shop stuff, not as perfect because he doesn't have giant supercomputers that make perfect laser cuts, but pretty god damn close for hand made stuff, and even when you're using absolute top of the line best equipment on the market putting as much money as you possibly can into the project, you can make one for yourself for a third of the price. Keeping a business afloat takes more money than just the cost of materials.

Depends on my assessment of the character. I switched mains a few times in SFV. Ken, Vega, Karin, considered Ibuki, but eventually settled on Karin. And I've come to understand the game better and realize that now it's definitely not the character. She's definitely for me, but I might need to work on being a bit more for her. It's rare to find a character that's 100% everything you'd want, because probably that character would be OP as shit. So you've got to find a character who suits your style, is mostly what you want, and doesn't have glaring weaknesses that you know you can't play around.
It's more about game plan than specifics. Karin for example is all about controlling the pace of the fight. You fight from medium distance poking and punishing, and then you switch into close up rushdown/pressure, and if you can be the one to dictate that switch, who can decide "ok now we're playing at this range, oop we moved back to medium now" etc... then you'll probably win.
That's what I like about her. That reliance on controlling the space and dictating the fight on your own terms really appeals to me. I've had to learn a lot about her. How to play as her, her strengths and weaknesses, how to make that appealing game plan work with her moveset. You have to meet your character halfway. And I'm not saying that in a waifu-y kind of anthropomorphication sort of way. Just that you'll always have some learning to do, and if you drop a character at the first hurdle/period of adjustment, you'll drop every character.
Which isn't to say you should just play the first character you ever play forever. But you've got to find the gameplan/style that suits you best, and then I'd say stick with it as much as you can.
Also some characters require matchup coverage more than others. For example Karin can beat anyone. And lose to anyone. There's not that much point (in my opinion) in having a secondary because there's no matchups where she just gets dumpstered. So depends.

Yeah most players in KI are jerks. I only play exhibitions and even then people will act like retards and not give sets, win or loss, because I play Rash and Gargos. I've never even practiced the ultra extensions because it's just not necessary and you have people who suck ass at the game and scrape by with a win barely and will pull off the 150 hit combos and all that bullshit. Fucking SFV stages are goddamn tiny and this is an issue twofold
One it makes jumpins even more dominant because you can practically whiff punish nomals with a full fucking jump in combo, and two it makes zoning and range of normals way to fucking important.

S1 was a prime example
