I'm brand spanking new to Stellaris.

Are the regenerative hull research from Space Amoebas as awesome as it sounds?

Is uplifting species worth it? Will they end up being your bad ass BFFs, or can you control them, or do they end up just being an expensive tumor on the edge of your empire?

I have a million other questions but I'm having fun figuring most of them out myself. I just don't know if I should invest the time in those two or not.

You stop producing mana as well, so it can't last forever unless you have a specific combo.

Should I colonize all these 40% worlds or wait until I get atmospheric manipulation tech to terraform them?

Also should I put some of these worlds into sectors so they get the governor bonuses and more happiness or is it not worth it? I'm playing as peaceful bureaucracy and have 19 worlds under direct control but I can't put governors on them all.

>>
>>164983008
So I looked up vassal and it seems like something I'd like to play with. Is there any way I can actually allow them to colonize planets on their own, or can I tell them to build colony ships and direct where to settle myself?
>>
>>164983834
I usually wait. If it's absolutely necessary that I colonize a red world, I send a droid colony ship and turn it into a mining colony. I miss being able to terraform colonized worlds.
>>
>>164983834
Unless you desperately need resources, I'd wait, you can't terraform them after you colonise them and the happiness debuff from being on a shitty planet is noticable.
>>
>>164984084

The perspective is weird when there is a system beneath the plane 'north' of one that is above the plane so its too different systems

What if you migrate all your pops off-planet or purge them?
>>
>>164982749
Regenerating hull is a small amount of hull regen PER MONTH. You don't need your ships to heal on their own after the battle. You need them to win the battle so that your species isn't driven to extinction.

Uplifing is awesome because they have a +20% bonus to happiness. Other kinds of interacting with lesser species depends on their ethics (which you can check by looking at the tooltip of a pop).
>>
So, I have an (hostile) enigmatic fortress within my empire. What do I do with it? It doesn't do anything beyond attacking everything within its reach. I even have a world in the same system.
>>
>>164983834

If those guys to your left are those grey worm collectivists (one of the pre-made empires) might as well arm yourself to the teeth right now and prepare for war.
>>
Are federations stronger than empires?
>>
>>164984550
I don't know, i haven't tried it yet
>>
How many ships do you need once you reach the Battleship stage?
>>
>>164984750
A federation is just a collection of empires, like an alliance.
>>
>>164984884

Your navy cap should be full at all times (or at least you should prepare to match it fast) and you should always be in equivalent power (at least) with all your neighbours. Open the contact list and check their power comparison (over your mouse over it and check the fleet).
>>
>>164984750
No, a federation is a group of (usually) weak empires that join together so the more powerful empires don't bully them
>>
What should I do with the Enigmatic Fortress?

Say I get someone with the Spark of Genius trait. Would it be better for him to be an actual researcher, or should I put him in a science ship and have him assist research on a colony that's super research heavy?
>>
>>164985865

All scientists should go at some point to a science ship to survey new systems and anomalies. Thats how you train them.
>>
>>164984572
Living metal is disappointing as fuck. You have to defeat a FE to get it half the time and the description says it's a powerful technology and all it does is give you a slow as fuck passive recharge on hull.
>>
>>164986126
>You have to defeat a FE to get it half the time and the description says it's a powerful technology and all it does is give you a slow as fuck passive recharge on hull.

I'mma tell you a story.
I was colonizing and expanding, as usual, until i got ~60% of the galaxy.
I had a FE, but it was dormant and didn't du nuffin, and i had more important things to do, like terraform and shit.
Suddenly, i notice that there's a unsurveyed in the middle of my territory, which surprised me. Did i forgot to survey that piece of crap? Or was there some retard inside that scared my science ships?
I send ships to take a look and i found a fucking ringworld. Then i take a look at the system and the system number: Cybrex #999.
The cybrex homeworld had appeared out of nowhere in the middle of my turf without recieving the mission. I got 4 living metal out of that, which was neat.

And then, a couple of centuries later i found out that some retards across the galaxy had found another ringworld with more living metal, but that didn't help them anyways

Most of them were already there. Very few factions flourish later on and most get swallowed shortly after a late appearance. You can give robots citizen's rights in an event chain once they become self-aware. You can even end up with a robot president.

Helps to be materialist and not a xenophobe otherwise you'll get a negative happiness debuff to all organic pops.

They'll still potentially betray you if a robot rebellion occurs in another empire though.

My own modified blend of Elite Militaries, ISB Balance, and New Ship Classes.

EM is outdated and isnt compatible anymore with the other two so I had to edit it a little bit. Basically gives you policies depending on how you play. Using a policy that cuts your fleet strength by 90% but makes all of your ships extremely strong. Theres another one where it cuts your damage and HP in half in exchange, but yo end up with a massive naval cap boost and 12x build time for almost every ship.

Unbalanced as shit but fun in a way. A single ship can take on an Awakened Empire fleet for a while if you stack on enough regen.
>>
>>164994146

It means we're the adults.

We're all that is, and there's no one to help us or carry on if we fuck up.

It's scary that there might be other life out there, but the scarier thing is the responsibility of being the only sophonts in existance: We must tame the galaxy alone, and once we have done so, we are responsible for it forever.

Is it not terrifying, to find the mantle of God draped across your shoulders, with neither the armor nor arms of divinity? How horrific the duty of care, when man who barely can handle the atom is now at the reigns of the galaxy?
>>
>>165012103
Yes. ISB Balance, or if you just want the superweapons, ISB Doomsday Weapons and Ships.

You get a Titan ship, which is just a fuck huge battleship, Leviathan, fuck hugeship meant for killing capital ships and has massive evasion for a vessel its size, Erebus supercarrier which spawns its own combat drones, the Ragnarok which has a fleet killer spcial weapon, and the Avatar ship which kills planets.

Also doomsday weapons that you activate via edicts and fucks up planet pops on at time per month until its rock is either sterile r everyone dies.
>>
>>165012373
>It's scary that there might be other life out there, but the scarier thing is the responsibility of being the only sophonts in existance

But answer my question!
>>
>>165012373

This. if we fuck up with nuclear war, climate change or simply exhausting our resources on Earth before founding viable colonies there will be no sentient life left in the universe. Just an empty mechanical shell ticking down to Big Freeze without anyone to observe it or assign meaning.
>>
>>165012973

Nope, it's just building working FTL engine is much more difficult that games and movies lead us to believe and either nobody manage that or didn't reach us yet, space is really vast and it's impossible to tell where you might find something worthwhile.
>>
>>165013816

we are biological transforming drones
our makers wont let us fuck up the earth too bad

the only way of being sure that we have free will as species is by making sure that no organic life can live in this planet but like i said they wont let us do that
>>
>>165017035

We see no trace of stellar engineering or anomalous signals that could point to life except the gamma bursts. So at the very least we could be sure that no civlization is climbing the Kardashev scale out there.

But what you said is the rationale behind the "ascension" arugement. FTL is impossible so alien civilizations turn inward and focus their research on cosmology, particle physics and multiverses instead of expanding. Who knows how advanced some alien race, formed 8 billion years before humans could be.

>Just an empty mechanical shell
That's exactly what it already is. All meaning we assign is literally arbitrary bullshit we made up because we had nothing better to do. The universe doesn't give a fucking shit.
>>
>>165016185
>horrifying
Let's go through them because no it is not.

>being a simulation
I'm going to borrow the word of Johnson and say "I refute it thus". Reality is not some objective thing, it's what is percieved. If everyone in the world were to percieve that the sun is glowing lime green, then the reality is that sun is glowing lime fucking green. Basically, it doesn't fucking matter if we're in a simulation or not. The entire endgoal of physics, the theory of everything, was literally to create a model that could simulate the entirety of the world we live in. A perfect simulation is indistinguishable from, and therefore equivalent to, reality.

>ascension
This is not part of the Fermi Paradox.

>life is fluke and never developed elsewhere
If life were a fluke then it would've certainly developed elsewhere, since self-replicating proteins are hardly insanely improbable.

>so advanced
In which case it doesn't matter, they're fundamentally godlike and we ignore their presence or lack thereof until they choose to make themselves known.

>completely different from us
i.e. we should not be concerned about them until we interact.

>endless, lifeless void
It's certainly mechanical.

>we are alone
Well, there are plenty of molecular structures around.

>>165033897
>There is no FTL to invent
FTL is not mathematically impossible depending on what version you use. Not to say that it's actually possible though.

>We will never harness the weak force
There is nothing special about the Weak Nuclear Force compared to the other two of gravity and SNF. Why did you even bring up the Weak interaction?

>no portals to everywhere
Superstring theory's 11D shit fundamentally says that we live in a spatially 9 dimensional world but only 3 dimensions are of significant size, similar to how a paper drawing is technically still 3D but the third is so small we call it 2D. That being said, a portal to a higher dimension would hardly make sense since we're already in that higher dimension.

If we are the only thing that assign meaning, it's even more important that we don't fuck this up.

People always forget that the conclusion of Nihilism isn't "None of this matters", but "There is no objective point to all this, so care about whatever you like."
>>
>>165037839
>People always forget that the conclusion of Nihilism isn't "None of this matters", but "There is no objective point to all this, so care about whatever you like."
Actually, nihilism is saying that the two are equivalent. That "everything is arbitrary bullshit" implies "you should find meaning for yourself because humans become untermensch without meaning to their life".

>If we are the only thing that assign meaning, it's even more important that we don't fuck this up.
I don't see why it's important at all. Nihilism doesn't say anything about the world proper or even about society (although the Ubermensch ideally has quite a bit to say about society). Nihilism is a way of PERSONAL life. The universe doesn't really give two shits about your personal life and what you think.
Sentient life is not something that's somehow precious or special compared to every other structure as far as the universe would be concerned. Oh sure, philosophically, the world simply would not exist if there were no observers; but then again, the world doesn't particularly mind not existing. Everything we do, assigning meaning, observing, and assigning meaning to observation, is an arbitrary meaning that we give to ourselves, and not in small part because we'd like to reassure and comfort ourselves now that we've gone and contemplated things way beyond our scale. This doesn't change the fact that, spiritualism and/or religious faith aside (a certain amount of which may be healthy), the universe literally is an empty mechanical shell.

Also, from a thermodynamic point of view, energy gradients tend to slowly level off over time (2nd law and all that). The implication is that life will eventually become impossible no matter what means we go to to preserve it, because life itself requires a certain level of energy gradient to work. That is, unless you manage to find a way to introduce another closed system's energy by smashing them together (i.e. merging universes).

Is 8bait Invasion any gud?

Pros and cons?

I felt Planetary Analiation got a bit boring after a while.
>>
>>165042396
>Is 8bait Invasion any gud?
It's a good introduction to RTS, and it's simple enough so that you can play a game in 20 minutes. Compared to SupCom's 45 minutes game, it's really quick.

>Pros and cons?
Pro :
- the factions are pretty differents but the fundamentals are the same,
- "cute" cartoony graphism that can run easily,
- really simple to use
- a total of six factions which allows some crazy fights, and you don't need to have all the games installed
- it's decently balanced
- the damage/armor system means that a basic infantry unit can be quite the effective anti-tank unit, evenif it's vulnerable to crushing
- having more barracks doesn't let you train more units in the same time, but it gives you a boost to unit creation depending on how many barracks/factories you have

Cons :
- there are actually three games : 8 Bit Armies, 8 Bit Hordes and 8 Bits Invaders. They're all at full price instead of being DLCs
- it's really simple, units don't have skills that you can activate, wizards are just ranged units, no shields or sprint or anything
- it relies on micromanaging and health management to get the edge, so it can get annoying
- no artillery, no ressource generating structure, nothing fancy. Just different kind of barracks/factories, two kind of turrets, and two super weapons
- some infantries are immune to crushing, so you need to know your shit or you'll lose your army very easily

I post a lot about it because it's easy to get a screenshot and I'm good enough at the game to goof around. I can't do that in Red Alert 3.

Unless you box them in, they'll tend to expand on their own. Even if they are uplifted mid-to-late-game with all the good viable nearby worlds taken they'll start whacking upUplifting early on isn't a bad idea, early game vassals are worth their weight in gold simply because it's like -building- an ally of nearly equal strength.

They'll be disloyal if you're not very advanced, but I've never had it so bad that they've tried to break away violently. The trust generally builds up quickly enough to keep them in line. Late-game when you're packing fleets in the 50+ Ks you can even uplift races totally opposite to you in ethics and not have too much trouble. You can integrate them later and swing them round to your way of thinking without to much hassle, by that point players should be swimming in influence for edicts.
FYI, if you're in a federation that's whingy about ceding planets through war philosophy, you can cede them to your vassal instead. One playthrough I actually ended up giving my HONARABU WARRIOR vassals so many prizes they owned nearly a 30% of my total territory. They were always total bros about it. Be careful doing this though as it sends the cost of integrating later rocketing way up.

TL;DR Uplifting is good. Either integrate them down the line or use them as a sneaky way of cedeing planets instead of liberating them during war.

Not sure if this question is welcome here.

Should I get Civ VI in the current state or start modding my Civ V?
>>
>>165048452
You should've started modding Civ V a long time ago. That's Civ V's only good point over Civ IV.
>>
>>165048452
why wouldn't it be welcome here? and if you still enjoy civ 5, mod it out and keep playing that. Civ 6 is okay but not good enough, and mod tools probably won't be out for a bit longer.
>>
>>165048578
So what you're saying is that both are still shit?

Civ VI wont be playable until expansion nr 2, maybe nr 1, but just maybe.

Or maybe its just me that is spoiled by superior games like EL.
>>
>>165049273
Civ V has mods that make it fun.

Civ VI is legit retarded.
>>
>>165049273
I can't really answer that. I like Civ 5, but everyone keeps saying Civ 4 is better.

The few I saw from Civ 6 and the fact that we're struggling to stay alive even through it came out recently suggests it's really bad.
>>
>>165050170
I don't think 6 is bad, but it doesn't have the same level of polish that 5 does and suffers from it. Civ 5 suffered from the same thing when it came out. Give 6 a couple of years for mods and expacs to come out and it will be solid.
>>
>>165051321
Civ5 lacked polish, but it did something very new so it was still fresh.

I think the district thing in civ6 is pretty new, but maybe it's not enough to make it distinct from previous games like civ5 was.

>I spent months hearing that Trump was worse than Hitler, so it was a real surprise that he was elected.
Well that was part of the problem, people spent so much time and effort demonizing Trump for real and imagined slights, that they became overconfident.

Say what you will about Trump, but he had a message that resonated well with people who were economically hurting in the Rust Belt. I figured if Trump was going to win, it would be by flipping Wisconsin and/or Minnesota, especially since Hillary was basically ignoring that part of the country outside of Pennsylvania.

Low and behold that's what happened. Though I didn't foresee Hillary losing Michigan and Pennsylvania, that one really surprised me and underscored just how much Hillary and the Dems fucked up.

Any pleasute you feel comes from the endorphin generated by your spinal cord (if I remember my biology lessons right).

Pirate it to try it, but you should pay em if you like it so you can show them that there is money in this genre.

We need more GOOD MP 4X games, and so far Amplitude and Paradox are some of the few who are able to do something decent.

Playing Civ V. I beat King difficulty once before, but am having trouble doing it again. From my understanding, you want to really focus on science to get ahead, right? Build a monument first in your cities, then scout, then worker, right?

Last time I was the Koreans and I was stuck by Montezuma, so I had to deal with his warmongering, but he was also attacking everybody else so it wasn't too bad. Siam got close to a cultural victory so I nuked them a few times and took their capital to try and slow them down. After that I just kept knocking on Siam and India to halt their progress and got a time victory.

This game I started put me in mostly tundra, and my closest neighbor is backstabber Alexander the Dick. He has like, 8 cities, already took a capital, and already tried to wage war once (which was kind of a fail on the AI, given that he had the strongest army and i had a weak one but he still couldn't take my cities). My civ is Russia.

What do? Should I try to explicitly pick the really strong Civs to start out with? I find this a bit less fun.

Keep telling yourself that.
It doesnt really matter if the game has 1000 daily players or 50000. You'll find a multiplayer game instantly anytime anyway.

Just because Civ is older and a lot more people know about the series because of heavy marketing doesnt make it good.

I prioritized writing and library. After that it kind of depends on what resources are around me. So scout, monument, then worker? I do have ruins enabled, btw. I don't try to get rid of game mechanics.

I tried to get some wonders built first to get culture up a bit and get the free buildings with them (great library, great lighthouse). I usually prioritize tech that gets me into another era or ones that help science.

Are some Civs just death sentences if you start next to them? Greece always starts a war with me in the early game, and it is hard to focus on building up good cities and science when you have to deal with a warmonger that cares about neither except when they help his military.

Is religion actually worth it? And how can you tell if you can still found a religion? I don't want to get a great prophet just to have it be a waste.

How is Master of Magic? I'm thinking of buying it off GoG, and since this seems to fuse together civ and HOMM.
I've read positive comments almost everywhere, even here on 4chan, however i have some questions:
>Is there a "just one more turn" button?
As on, can i first cover the entire map in my wizard's colors before deciding to win the game? Or does the game end as soon as a victory condition is met?
>Is it challenging?
Or are there difficulty settings, even. If the AI were as difficult as civ4's one it'd be fine, and artificial difficulty is fine by me as well, as long as it can be actually challenging and not a cakewalk even at the hardest difficulty.
>Can i cover the entire map in my own colored blob?
This is autistic as hell, but can the map give you the civ feel of seeing an entire continent covered in your civ's colors? Or is it like Master of Orion where the system always looks the same?
>Can i go full necromancer and raise tons of skellies from my enemies corpses?
This one would be very nice since i loved necromancy in Heroes 3, but it's not a deal-breaker.

Build orders are a subjective fair. Generally you want 1-2 scouts, 1 worker and a Monument asap. After that 1-2 extra workers, 3 slings, 1-2 warriors. This is what you need to have a safe and stable early game in my expirience.

Wonders are kinda crap if you aren't china.

No, defense is trivially easy if you know what you are doing, you just need to stop trying to play as pacifist yourself.

Religion is in dispute. Some say it's a waste of time and resources. I think it's worth it simply becaue holy site isn't a bad district to have early on. But generally it's not nearly strong enough to worry about outside of religious victory conquest.
>>
>>165083758
Nevermind, I thought dialogue was about civ6. You need less military presence in 5, tho idea is basically the same. And religion is more important in 5.

>Implying they ever mattered

>>
>>165081341
>>Is there a "just one more turn" button?
Nope
The victory conditions include casting the spell of mastery and physically killing off all the enemy wizards. If they generate eough power and still have cities they will try to resummon themselves after you banish them, so you can let them live off in one or two useless cities if you want to sim city after a while.
>>Is it challenging?
Some of the unofficial patches improve the AI.
On impossible they have a lot of bonuses that can be hard to catch up with if you don't work on it. I tend to use specific wizard builds that help overcome that.
I've played 5 games since december and lost 2 when I strayed from those safer strats.
>Can i cover the entire map in my own colored blob?
On the map you see cities marked in different colours, and on the overworld view you see your cities with flags of your colour.
Controlled nodes of power have sparks of the wizards colours that cover up to 20 tiles, but there's no coloured border like later civ titles.

>Can i go full necromancer and raise tons of skellies from my enemies corpses?
Yes.
The death school deals with undead.
Ghouls a summoned creature from the death school have the "Create Undead" ability, so units they kill have a chance to appear as undead version of their former selves after combat.
Black Channels is a buff that turns the unit to an undead, or just buffs it if it is already undead.
Undead don't gain experience the usual way and don't regain hp though so be careful about turning heroes into undead. Regeneration is the one way to get undead to heal.
It's a nature buff, can be found on items, and almost all trolls have regeneration.

You can also summon skeletons and zombies, there's a Global Enchantment called Zombie Mastery where every unit that falls in combat returns as a zombie if you win the fight.

Some units and spells have lifedrain, and if a unit dies to primarily lifedrain damage they return as undead.

You can settle on most tiles.
You can't settle within 3 tiles of another city, so a 7x7 square around an existing city is off limits.

You can't settle on some Encounter Zones(Sorcery Nodes, Nature Nodes, Chaos Nodes and Towers of Wizardry remain after being cleared).

I think you can play the game with just a mouse. I don't use that many hotkeys in MoM desu,

I hear that especially Germany is hard on this and local population is kind of retarded when it comes to piracy.
In Londonistan there is come back of real old school piracy when some paki or oher faggot sell you dvd/cd in some shady corner with movies and shit. You know the real piracy were actually money are involved and support crime or illegals. Seriously we are going back in time.
>>165079823
What exactly?
The game is fine(didn't notice any bugs) unless you count Hive and Parasites.
Management model is not direct are you can't switch or replace single governor but rule by edicts(like purge incompetent or disloyal ones etc). Planet(economy) management is fine and seriously is much better than Stellaris and feels better - kinda like Distant World where its do their thing.
Military control is decent. Composition of units and numbers win wars - logistic is the key as you want replace losses fast or don't want to broad border as you have limited fleets and squadrons.
The only things I can complain that its relatively easy at this point and I don't see any imminent danger for my Empire.

There's always a fight going on, sometimes that fight is called war, sometimes that fight is called peace.
If you're winning at peace, you may not need to start a war.
If you know you can win more by doing war though it could be worth it.

it depends a lot on what you are trying to achieve. There are 2 main lines of research. One that gives you access to Science National Wonder, it's called National College, I think. can't be arsed to look up names. The other one is CB/XB/Arty rush. Composite Bow/Crossbow/Artillery that is. Basically building archers for early aggression/defense.

Everything beyond that is IMHO situational.

Granary, Monument, pretty much anything that raises production or local happiness so long as you can afford maintenance. Buildings that boost local luxury/common/strategic resources output.

Beyond that it's all situational. Generally it's not hard to decide what to build once you know what your strategy is for the city/game.

Immediate positive is +4 bio research to whatever gas giant they decide to settle on, may not be in your territory.
They can give 500resource, a +5% empire bonus to physics, or just be really annoying with their civil war. Most likely is that civil war where you'll be sending a science ship as a taxi until you get bored with the idea.

I've honestly never fucking understood this picture
1. The President of the United States of America is not decided by your ballot, but by the Electoral College. They generally vote with their states, but that doesn't mean much considering that 'abstain' is actually a choice that is given to you, albiet implicitly.
2. Most people recognize that both candidates are true imbeciles who have no idea what they're doing and that this campaign in particular was just a pathetic show of shit-flinging; to them, the problem of who to toss the ballot for was who was less shit. According to you, the one that is less shit is immune to criticism otherwise you're 'blackpilled' and a 'cuck'. Way to show that American spirit that crosses party lines right?
3. The post you replied to didn't even say he didn't vote for either one. In fact, he didn't even say he was American.

>The President of the United States of America is not decided by your ballot, but by the Electoral College.
Electoral College didn't appear out of nowhere, in fact (((media))) praised it for voting for Obama back in the previous election.
>Most people recognize that both candidates are true imbeciles
Who are the "most people"? Both candidates had 40%+ of popular votes, so clearly people didn't vote just because the other candidate is an imbecile. Besides, they could always vote for Jill Stein, since her track record only became worse after the election, before that she was squeaky clean compared to both.
>According to you, the one that is less shit is immune to criticism otherwise you're 'blackpilled' and a 'cuck'.
"Blackpilled" is not a thing, but nice try, libcuck, way to show your racism. And I didn't say anything about being "immune", just pointed out how people like you are pathetic cucks who think shitting on all candidates somehow puts you above everyone else.
>The post you replied to didn't even say he didn't vote for either one.
Yeah, he just condensed everyone into one word, instead of calling them by names. Sure he didn't try to show everyone how he was above it all.
>In fact, he didn't even say he was American.

Just say media, whether or not they are controlled by the jews is irrelevant.

>Both candidates had 40%+ of popular votes
I don't get it. Both candidates have been some of the least popular presidential candidates in US history. that they've been voted for is hardly a big deal, since third party candidates are, to most people, literally nobody.

>Jill Stein

Why shouldn't he be above it all, esp. if it doesn't directly affect him? For all we know he lives somewhere where he can't predict what'll happen either way, or he lives in a place where the policies overlap.

>You don't have to be american
If you are not American, then there is no pressing reason for you to care about who is the President of the United States of America, and even less reason for you to pretend to back a side now that the victor has already been chosen.

From what I've gathered, most people don't actually understand what nihilism means. My stance: It's been 70+ years since Nanjing and all that, and almost everyone involved is dead or dying. As long as Abe doesn't pull shit like running off to the Shrine publically and pointedly refusing to apologize, relations will be rather easy to mend. Hell, for 1500 fucking years, China and Japan were on rather good terms, with that Korean being a slight blip.
Also, if both sides eased up a little on their educational propaganda and perhaps even encouraged analysis of how we're historical friends, not necessarily enemies, it'd be trivial. Then again, the Americans wouldn't like that.

In the context of the current election, you prefer Killary being elected just because she had 2% more popular vote. Btw, the "popular vote" can be easily gamed by importing a shitton of illiterate shitskins, exactly what Obama & Co. were trying to do.
>Just say media, whether or not they are controlled by the jews is irrelevant.
It's super relevant, because most of "anti-trump" articles were released either by jewish-owned companies, or by the authors with jewish surnames. The hit rate was too high for a mere (((coincidence))).
>I don't get it. Both candidates have been some of the least popular presidential candidates in US history. that they've been voted for is hardly a big deal, since third party candidates are, to most people, literally nobody.

It is not relevant. That they're jews doesn't suddenly mean what they say is invalidated because they're jews. Dismiss their articles and their viewpoints because they're factually incorrect or because they're not logically coherent, not because of their last name.

>they are not popular if 40% of the population vote for them
Did you miss the part where I said "because the other choice is even shittier?"

>way to miss the point of that crudely drawn image
I'm not missing the point of the image. The entire point of the image is that the poster is unironically pissed off at people not unequivocally supporting him, yet not taking the other side so he can call them with her or whatever else it was.

>expose yourself
The use of "triggered" unironically is only bad if you're referring to yourself. Otherwise, it's a perfectly valid usage; certainly no worse than you saying 'cuck cuck cuck'.

>Why should he be above it all when the USA is the closest thing to a "true democracy"
It isn't even though. It is an elective ogliarchy like so many other nations. Hell, considering all the referendums going on? You're behind even Italy.

>(whatever you meant by that)
Democracy has a definition. As an example, Ancient Athens was a democracy, and one of the only examples of a consistent democracy (instead of a democracy only when a referendum is called).

>which means he lives in a degree of shithole
I fail to see why this is relevant in any way, shape or form.

>maybe Trump will be the one who bomb your country in the next 4 years.

As a chink, you don't have any say on shittiness of any US candidates, because in your country there would be no choice. In fact a person like Trump wouldn't get anywhere in China, he probably would be shot long before whatever facade you have for the elections. I CAN understand, as a fellow snow nigger, your line of thinking, since it's easier to brush any problems off on the shittiness of the currently governing figure and absolve ALL personal responsibility for said figure's actions.
>The use of "triggered" unironically is only bad if you're referring to yourself.
Did you just invent a new rule? It doesn't work this way, you faggot. Also "cuck" is applicable to you as a whole, unless you are a son of Triad's boss or a high-ranked party member. But then it would nullify your reasoning about democracy.

The point is that voting, itself, technically decides nothing insofar as the presidential candidate is concerned. The College can technically vote for whoever the hell they want.

>Electoral college exist EXACTLY
To choose the candidate that lost the popular vote? Or to split the vote in a winner-takes-all fashion (or nearly that) on a state-by-state basis? What an intriguing system!
It's actually to make educated decisions; Jefferson himself detested the idea of actual democracy.

>Ofc you wouldn't understand it, because you live in a country where...
I can read about it, and I can do so with American texts.

>You don't say, the jewish articles are also the ones
Well, I personally don't know, but then you should simply say that the media is lying and skewing the statistics and therefore unreliable, instead of saying the media is jewish. The terms are obviously not synonymous.

>Why are you bended [sic] on defending the jews anyway? I thought you said you was [sic] racist.
I hate black people because I think they're ugly, and don't mind white people because they're not. It's pretty simple. I'm neutral on the matter of jews and whatnot. They are special in relation to White Nationalism, since they:
1. Have an ethnostate built around their race and religion.
2. Somehow are exempt from white privilege, but can shapeshift into whites when needed (mostly for propaganda purposes).
3. But are religiously opposed of white ethnostate for some reason.
Quite a high amount of "anti-trump" publications have been posting about anti-white stuff before the election. The ones which weren't affiliated with jews, were put into "fake news" list later on.
And don't pull "go through them one by one". Shillary didn't bother to check the meaning of nazi frog, neither her CTR cronies on payroll bothered to "fact-check" a shit. It also upgrades food before building mineral stuff despite having all pops in said planet

>>165147895

You have a real -16 deficit not counting with colonization under way. Dismantle 2 or 3 construction ships, make trade deals with allies (minerals for food) order 1 or 2 sectors to focus on energy only (and allow to replace buildings) and if possible upgrade the infraestructure on your core planets (excess food farms, make the building that give a general boost etc).

Also all fleet under one admiral and stationed at the port with the add on that decreases upkeep.

Activate grand fleet edict.

By excess food farms I mean you dismantle them, but be careful. Even if you subtract the farm ammount to the planet summary and it equals zero it doesnt mean you will be perfectly matched (the real number is not an integer).

Also fanatic militarists can just dismantle a portion of the fleet and at a later date when threatened or going to war you just activate the arms race edict in your production planets and quickly match the cap.

Yeah, my home world is setup as a naval base with a station with crew quarters+engineering bay. I'm setting up more and more trade deals but it's slow going finding empires willing to trade for energy.

Can't use the grand fleet edict because I rely heavily on my 150+ year old leader who's got the shipright mandate, which means if I keep within 75%+ naval capacity I get 250 influence every 10 years.

I feel like I'm playing xenophobes wrong because I'm signing non aggression pacts and trade deals with every alien I meet. Still haven't declared war on anyone. Had a great start since 2 of my neighbors were Stagnants blocking off enemy empire expansion. Got 1/4 of the galaxy to myself.

Got 150+ Droids in my empire and I'm noticing that other empires are starting to have Synths which causes me to look at "Outlaw AI" policy and think that it'd be a big crowd pleaser in my empire. On the other hand, replacing 150 droids with people is going to be a pain.

Droids do all the menial labor in my empire, grow food, mine minerals, run government, operate statues of purity, run virtual combat arenas.

I wonder if any real world government would ban automation just to get more votes.
>>

>I wonder if any real world government would ban automation just to get more votes.

>>
>>165163853

An early rush is still possible. If you pick despotic empire with fanatic xenophobe or just mildly xenophobe with either plutocratic oligarchy or military dictatorship and good traits (industrious, strong and thrifty) you can scout at the very beginning, spot non advanced AI factions (those with only one planet) decide your target and instead of expanding with colony ships you just declare one of them rival and build outposts on very rich mineral systems.

Once you have 1k or over fleet with either blue lasers+armor or coilguns+deflectors you attack, wait for their fleet to leave the port, defeat it and place it still (neutral stance) while you reinforce back to 1k). Attack the port, reinforce a little again, build a 8 unit army with hunter killer drones and take the planet for the warscore. This is made around 12 - 20 years after start.

Now its a little late, specially if you are on insanity. If not you still have a chance.

Oh I can totally curbstomp my (non fallen empire) neighbors with my 60k fleet and I've been churning out psi warriors for the past 40 years (a feat since I'm materialistic). It's more of an inertia thing.

I started next to two fallen empires, and it took 20 years before I met the first "real" empire. They wanted to be my friends even though I was xenophobes and I said yes because I wanted a research agreement. That was a good 80+ years ago and I'm still building up my forces for my first war of the game.

Problem is I'm in the most peaceful game I've ever played, there haven't been ANY wars in this entire galaxy that I know of and it's 2311.

I don't even have a rival, closest is a couple empires have closed their borders to me.
>>
>>165165780

The game strongly encourages playing according to NPC archetypes. If you're a xenophobe then you're either isolationists (who just chill and eventually get conquered) or fanatical purifiers (who play like militarists and conquer everyone and have lots of fun).

Would anyone know why certain mods for Stellaris simply don't work? Many custom species, some extra traits, and custom name lists mods especially won't show up in the game.
>>
>>165174369
Stellaris mods have a version number associated with them. Even if it's something trivial like name lists, the game will assume it's incompatible if it was made for a different version.
>>
>>165170876
Dark Elves and Dwarves give the most per pop.

High elves have the most yield per pop of the arcanian races.

Races have different infrastructure tech trees though.
So High Elf cities produce more power than Nomad, Halfling, Orc and Halfling cities at pop 15-25, while it's the reverse at pop 1-13 since High Elves don't have access to Parthenon and Cathedral.
>>
>>165173304

Its just a way for you to gain influence and power faster. You can always conquer them, but by having them your allies you can maintain a big military presence (yours and theirs) a lot faster since a war will surely result in losses and force you to a recovering period or building ships and controlling revolts.

Ah yes. On insanity the AI researches 100% faster so its not a bad idea to trade research. It really depends on context though.
>>
Can someone give me a list, from most to least, of /civ4xg/ games regarding level of customization?

Most space4x games have about the same level of customisation as Stellaris so long as you are willing to spend your time on it.

Depending on what you seek, exactly, when you mean "galaxy gen". I'd advise you to check out GalCiv2 or Sots, since both of those have pretty nifty map settings options while being good games in their own right.

Civ IV kind of encourages it too though, and it is hardly "tall". I mean it doesn't break the game in two, but capital wonder whoring is still pretty effective, esp. if you just whip the settlers and workers out in one (technically 0) turn.

>>165223608
If they're next to you you need to either have a strong ally or two or a strong military, you might not have time to wonder whore.
>>
>>165217367
I have honestly never built a wonder since Civ 4. Normal buildings and units are more fun and more effective unless you really know what you're doing.
>>
if china could use workers to fuel wonders in all ages, would they be good, op, or still fairly mediocre
>>
>>165226835
They'd probably be OP because later on, Chinese workers can have 7 charges. They complete 15% of a wonder when hurrying. This means that you can literally finish a wonder in 6 turns for the price of a single worker and have a build left on your worker. You become able to essentially buy wonders.
It's already kind of OP if you rush Petra on a desert 1 pop city with 2 workers.
>>
>>165227667
You already can buy wonders with them, at least early game. One balancing aspect is that worker cost scales with workers created, and every worker you spend on wonders is one you don't spend on improvements. Pyramids and other sources of extra charges helps a lot, of course
>>
>>165228013
You can buy wonders with them but you buy them with multiple workers, esp. on longer turn times.

There is no point in playing that game.

If you have strategy where AI cheats so outrageously it defeats the entire point of STRATEGY and turns the game into "how can i meta or exploit the AI the best so i wont get raped" bullshit.

Kinda like Homeworld 1 and 2.
>>
>>165250480
Why do you think that most competitive players can easily fight against 6 or 7 cheating AIs?
It's all about exploiting the AI's stupidity.

This is why it's not recommended to play against the computer if you want to be competitive.

but when AI utterly disregard rules of the game ( free money, no supplies needed, one his planet can outproduce ten of yours thanks to bonuses and not improvements etc ) it just utterly kills any strategy in game because it strike into the BASE of what strategy is about - cutting supply lines, wrecking enemies infrastructure, wearing him down through attrition etc and then its just turns out game into some meta-game bullshit breaking the fourth wall.
>>
>>165251046
>I too dont mind playing against the AI.

Sadly, strategy games are maybe the hardest to get a good AI for. There are so many things to consider that the AI is bound to be retarded. Or to cheat.
Usually both.

>>
>>165251175
>So, yeah. You do mind playing against it.

No i dont mind playing against AI that cheats as fuck.
AI in Balance Mod for Space Empires 5 was awesome without cheating/cheating as much as in Stellaris/Homeworld.
AI in Distant Worlds is pretty competent, Aurora 4x also has some smarts in that departament.

If i have AI that gets 95 % of its shit for free = shit game plain and simple.
Its like playing a game of COD with someone who wallhacks and aimbots - it might me possible to kill him but its a fucking chore not because he is so good but because he gets his shit for free.

Pure purgist empire, that cleases all aliens and fills planets with their species.

>>
>>165251904

>>
>>165252337

Keyword here is "LITTLE" cheating.

Shit like AI getting free fuel or not needing to retool shipyards in Aurora is little cheating for shit that AI cant handle.
Stellaris AI getting 100 % bonus to research and production or Homeworld Ai scaling fleet size to players for free is not LITTLE.

Yes, it was impossible. yes, it was a bug. Yes, it was hilarious watching it eat skydrakes.

MoM is a game where you play until you get bored, summon Torin the motherfucking Chosen One and conquer the entire world while time stands still, to a backdrop of falling meteors, rising volcanoes, and the wails of your citizens being sacrificed in black rituals.

I already googled as much as I could. No results on the aurora_wrapper issue. The python issue yields nothing but suggestions for updating certain service packs and shit, and I am not doing that for this one game.

I guess I was just hoping this was one of those issues that maybe other folks had and devise a painless fix for, hence why I asked here. But fuck it, if I'm gonna need to do specific updates and windows and what not, I just won't bother.

a) By playing the beta (I wasn't aware of that fact at the time, I couldn't read English)
b) By stacking it with 6 champions who were on a dragon-slaying competition.
c) It was over 20 years ago, and even then I didn't understand what happened.

At some point the red dots that represented its rank started increasing, until they span the entire screen and started a second row.
The end turn button stopped working at that point.

When will Stellaris be worth purchasing, do you think?
>>
>>165279686
Meh. I played worse.
Do you know of a game called Fire Department?
Let me explain really quickly.
>missions are all about taking down big fires and saving victims
>each time a new objective is revealed, you have a cutscene
>said cutscene interrupts what you are doing
>moves your camera away from the action
>blocks you in place for 20 seconds while you read subtitles (voices are too expensive)
>and then leaves you here
AND
>they trigger seemingly at random, so you bet your ass it'll always trigger when you're doing something
>they're often emergency, so you have to interrupt what you're doing to do it
>>
>>165280023
Yes I remember that game
I used to have a Gamestar disk with a demo of it on it
It wasnt bad from what I remember, it just had the habit of restarting fires at random without telling you where it happened
>>
>>165279542
I'm on w7, just as a standard dosbox game, no compatability

Not sure how the abandonware version differs from GoG version.
>>
>>165280383
Na, fire just spread.
But the cutscenes, dammit. Even years later, I still remember how much I raged at these. It was like a forced pause in the middle of your action.

It was like having your mother decided to use the vacuum cleaner while you're in the last Death Egg Zone.

I like it better than es1's card game. you pick your strategy at the start of the fight, it shows you %'s for each side's efficacy.
say the enemy picked medium range, but you've spec-ed your ships for long and they didn't. you pick long, your % for picking long range will be better, and theirs will be weakened.
I'd bet there's a vid on the youtubes that illustrates it cause my food coma prolly isn't allowing me to explain it too well.

They had an alliance, but not they only have a wizards pact.
Tauron will possibly just crush Ariel though.

Been trading some spells with Merlin.
He's Nature/Life, and the only other wizard with nature magic, also he's down to one city so I don't need to be afriad of teaching him any dangerous spells. Still held off on giving him Cracks Call though just in case.

Any mods that lends itself to that? And specifically, without letting the AI do the same thing. I already play with a bunch of mods that buff the AI, like letting FEs build fleets and giving them custom ships. FEs typically have 5-600k fleet strengths, for example before waking up.

Also, i'd want Myrran and Warlord, but i ALSO need the spellbooks in life and nature to get the town enchanents. Is it more reliable to get talents in wizard creation and spellbooks in the overworld or vice-versa?
