You can run Bone Chimera as well, but I prefer the early-game Ward Soldier brings to the party. He also eats bats and fairies alive and has a pretty nasty stat spread if evolved. That said, his base attack is dogshit and lets non blood/elf enemies get away with ez trades. He's also a solid Urd target if you didn't draw any of your Lurching/Attendants before turn 4.

As blood you should be saving all your direct burn for turn 6+ because that's when you lose the ability to have any board control anyways.

Shadow isn't really a hard matchup for aggro blood, especially with all these shitty Nep-decks and their terrible early game. Shadowlog showing shadow being blood's most favorable matchup in both Master and AA right now.

Wards on turn 1-5 are what fuck aggro blood up. Finally getting a ward out by turn 6 is too slow.

Spartoi goes a long way towards giving you time to stabilize vs. bats, but very few japs and even fewer non-japs ever run him. He does a great job of easing a rough matchup.

And if you've gotten a Conversion or two off, having 2 out of 3 Death's Breaths by 6/7 isn't all that unlikely

I'll definitely grant you that blood in general is a rough matchup for shadow, due to all the direct damage blood can pull seemingly outta nowhere

Is Nep actually random? In a sample size of 30 games, not ONCE did I ever summon a Mordecai after playing Nep with one other follower in play. It feels like it just pulls in order of lowest to highest. She also never seems to pull herself.

I had a similar reaction when I fought an actual Forest deck for the first time but it's not that bad. Forest in general though is kind of a poorly designed class that's completely carried by like 3 or 4 cards, hence why all of their decks look the same. It's not a super versatile class overall.

It is more likely to pull low cost followers of you have more of them in your decision. Let's say you have nine 2-drops but only two Mordecais. In this case Nep is way more likely to pull a 2-drop from your deck. Only way to guarantee Mord is to have only followers of 4 different costs in your deck and play her on an empty board.

I guessed right on Aggro Blood, Roach Combo and Spell Tempo being great. I was right that Discard Dragon and Nephthys Shadow would fall off pretty quickly, though I suppose the latter is still waiting to check out.

Bro, with a hand like that you really shouldn't even bother calculating it thoroughly. Getting the exact number on roach takes some work but playing your optimal roach for the turn is extremely simple, you just follow the basic rule, bounce if you can afford it, don't bounce if you can't.

I mean it's important to know what you're doing if there's a decision on board but here it's do or die.

Each card you will use before "roach guidance roach roach" is +3 dmg, with angelic +4.
It is +3 dmg because it will affect 3 roaches. Evo is +2.

If you have a hand with roach, gob 0PP, fairy 1PP, angelic snipe, 9 mana and an evo, I calculate like this :
Gob 0 = 3 dmg
Angelic snipe = 4 dmg (3dmg +1 dmg)
Fairy = 3 dmg
Combo "roach nature roach roach" = 8 dmg
Evo = 2 dmg

3+4+3+8+2 = 20

The tip here is to not calculate what impact each card has on each roach, but to consider each card as a burn with X dmg, X being the number of roaches hitting face in the turn.

Face Dragon always played a lot of extremely garbage cards for the sake of being fast. I still contend it was just a bad version of bats. I'm not surprised it's completely dead with the new expansion.

Aggro Sword has different good and bad matchups from bats, I don't think one deck is outright superior, though Bats does usually win if they play.

Face Dragon got fucked hard by RoB since everybody and their mother runs spell and effect removal now. Your Can't be attacked followers can barely get an attack off, so you have no way of softening people up for Forte burst since you don't have a shitload of burn/storm like the other two classes.

That's why you run wards and removal. Between Snake Priestess, Unicas, Tribunals, Lions, Priest, Radiance Angels, Sarissa, Themis, etc you have a lot of things to keep yourself together and burn the opponent of resources. Healing doesn't really mean shit if you can't deal with the threats the opponent has. Trying to heal yourself until you can get Themis out feels fucking retarded and is a crapshoot, you need stuff to impede the opponent as they get there. They can't hurt you if they don't have cards to play. Moreover most of our healing cards have very little value on their own and depend on Elana to pay off.

Not really, no. Face Dragon has a bunch of board control tools and a much more consistent way of gathering finishing damage in exchange for being slower (not just slower than Aggro Blood but most aggro decks in general). It has different good and bad matchups than Bats just like Aggro Sword does.
