Okay to explain, what ya do is ya make Grand Columbia a thing, as well as the Andine Federation and La Plata(Make sure to give them Chile) , make sure the FRCA is also a thing. And then, just let it roll from there and just watch the South American countries battle it out for supremacy.

I find it kinda interesting. It turns the literally SHIT TIER nations into actually pretty good contenders although I wish more of their borders conflicted so we could see constant war.

I tried it once while playing as the USA and it was pretty cool seeing the south american countries actually doing shit and watching how they just battle it out.

The map files need to align with each other perfectly so even if you didn't make any changes to rivers.bmp chances are you made other changs that caused it and provinces.bmp to no longer match each other pixel by pixel. Check for bad pixels, i.e rivers going where no rivers should be or the other way around.

Get any non-shit image editing tool, both GIMP and Paint.NET are free, the latter is easier to use. You should have done this from the start since the .bmps should always be edited and then saved as a 24bitmap .bmp to prevent data loss, paint cannot do this.

Open both pictures in separate layers and just tweak the opacity to make one transparent enough to see the others, then temporarily paint the provinces.bmp in the same colour so it'll be easier to see any irregularities.

First off, Russia makes the map look horrible.
Secondly, with all that land they can bide their time so that one day it will come of use. It's far from worthless. It's one of the best investment any country has - land. I think alike about USA and China too. Too big for the map to look aesthetic. India is big too, but it actually looks aesthetic that way. So does Brazil, and they have all the rainforest they (should) take care of.

Another thing that bothers me a lot about usa, is the fact that their states are square-like boarders. FUCKING HELL, so ugly.

I would have every single country (Except specifically gommie tags) start out with a state religion.

Every communist country and countries with over 20% literacy will get an event that switches their religion to secularism, then all countries with literacy over 10% will get an event severely hindering pop conversion. All countries under 20% will keep their religion and if low enough will be able to convert pops (Ill probably add a modifier adding or lowering conversion rate so atheism doesn't convert all your pops to your religion.) If you go gommie of get 20% literacy later on you will also get this event.

You will be able to change back to state religion if your literacy is under 20% and you have state religion, although I would have to make a lot of decisions for that and it might take too long.

Other than that I'd probably make religion a bigger factor in population growth in Europe so a 100% catholic nation will get a bonus compared to a 100% secular one, protestants would get a smaller bonus and orthodox would be the same as catholics probably.

You can control the trade province and have fun diverting the trade flow. That is the only thing I done when playing EUIV.

EU aside, Vicky would really fucking benefit from a flexible treaty system outside of warfare and a more moddable economy system, one that might even be disabled or much more controlled if necessary for earlier periods or more closed lands. Especially the retarded world market system without any simulation of transport costs of regulatory systems. The flexible treaty system is already mimickable through multiplayer console usage I guess but I'd like a built in version. One where, say, PRC can say "okay how's this I'll stop talking about Senkaku, but you join that Asia Bank thing I just made" or the US can say "okay so if I step out of Taiwan you will give me some favorable trade treaties".
