Yes, you did. The AI on the other hand fucks up every time and ends up being good in keeping a shithole a shithole instead, pretty much like when you completely fuck the shit up of Prussia during the early game in HPM. The country hardly recover if it ever does.

Putting 100 NFs is a shitty way to bypass the shitty AI, but still that's the best what I've been able to come up with to avoid updating the mod because Simsulla fucked it up badly. He actually reduced the number of regions drastically to bypass that. China has only 7-8 regions on this shitty update.

EU4 is easier than EU3. Without minting and inflation it's a lot harder for new players to fuck up their country.

Vic 2 is only easy if you play as the UK and Prussia. Making something out of a secondary power (or usurping the germanics as another GP) requires a bit of skill.

Even though you're taking the same basic actions over and over, the context is constantly changing. It's like Chess - a small number of moves, a huge number of possible game states.

/gsg/ and /4x/ style games are actually very addicting because you're constantly moving towards a goal, amassing power/resources/technology/etc and thus being fed a steady positive feedback.

The games also have a high degree of replayability because you can choose any nation to start with, and organically define your goals over the course of the game. Like a sandbox, basically.

This isn't about "which is smarter", it's about which game is a more enjoyable experience. Spending mana on everything doesn't feel like a proper history game at all, but teaching your people to read and building factories for them to work in does. In EU4 you build a (manu)factory and what happens? It just generates money per month. In Vicky it's profits can go up and down, it needs expanding, it's a more accurate representation of how it would be in real life and feels more meaningful to control because it actually has multiple elements past "spend mana to make mana."

The kids on /gsg/ aren't NASA material whatever game they play, but of the "special"ists we have the EU4 players are the most stunted. EU4 simply doesn't even try to be an intricate game, it's like civilisation, it's just about blobbing and blobbing and blobbing and then occasionally spending mana when people are angry you blobbed too hard.

I'd argue there's an element of roleplaying in all of them depending on events. CK2 is richest, obviously, but KR mod for DH adds plenty of them as well.

The problem is the modding community for EU4 is pretty shit and just does 'improvement' mods. EU4 doesn't have its 'Kaiserreich' otherwise it would be a lot more favourable. DH was just WW2 simulator until KR came out and inspired more event-line mods like it.

And intervene in wars is useful too, if the situation calls for it. It also makes you think twice of starting a war with russia if you know Ottomans hates you. Here it is, the end product.
It wouldn't let me name them Reichskommissariats, it considered the name too long. The only way to make them Prussian primary was to convert one province per territory and then make that their capital and now it isn't playable as they all have high liberty desire. EU4 is pretty much shit no matter how you look at it.

Any area not given to them is being culture converted to Prussian.

It is kind of annoying. One plan I have in a game as Livonia is to end at blobbing into Byelorussia, Pskov and a bit of Teutonic/Prussia and a bit of Poland, and then be a bastion of the Reformation. So one of the main things that makes Belarussians different and divergent is that they're the main Rus group that adopted Protestantism and were part of the Order, and the Livonian Russians would be maybe at 1836 like the Silesians, half and halfs. And colonize a lot and even lose some of those colonize.

At least that's the plan, and then maybe make it a V2 scenario if we make it that far.
