At least in yugioh you can customize your deck and make use of searching. In poker everyone takes from the same deck, and you have no control over the cards you might draw.

Just happens that the Spells can't use him because of "MUST HAVE ORIGINAL NAME OF BUSTERU BURADU".

And from testing. The deck is consistent in it's lock. Just not sure why Cradle does not protect The Buster Blader fusion or anything that isn't Whelp and it's many incarnations.

So don't mock till you try it.
