I find the mid tier jap destroyers a bit slow although the fubuki is pretty good. I would avoid the jap destroyers past t3 fubuki for now. The atlanta t4 usn cruiser is the best ship in t4 so you should aim to get that. The wyoming has the most guns in it's tier and are useful in novice fleet battles. The german destroyers are really good in general and also have magnetic torpedos that detonate on proximity but do less damage.

Japanese if you want to kill people, at the expense of having no AA, best turning but lower hp per plane. Has more mitigation (dodge)
USA if you like a lot of hangar space, and fast planes that can survive more consistantly due to higher HP but almost no dodge. Also best dive bombers but they are tricky. Fighters have highest damage and speed, and hp. However they cant usually compete in turn fighting compared to Japan (use two squads or try 'boom and zoom')
Brits if you like tea and crumpets. A mix of the two other nations it seems. They wind up with the best top tier damage torps. But I havent done them much, just T6.
Of them, I love the QT flats of the Japanese line for regular use. Cant stand US as I prefer to kill people versus afk fighter/spotter-pure that most pubs do when going CV. Brits are odd but I liked them a lot more than US.
Get to T4 before judging a CV line as most T3's are suffering.

Yeah, summed up, WoWs has better graphics (really, they're gorgeous), a less arcadey pace compared to SO (not that it isn't arcadey itself, but less so than SO) and population, while SO shines in the actual gameplay, features, choices of ships, humane grinding and very low jewing. But the marketing department is quasi-nonexistent due to internal issues.

It's the closest SO has to a ranked mode.
2 teams of 5 premade players fight in small maps and the winners go up in ranking. Everyone brings their best because the end of season rewards include loads of gold so it's the best way to farm it without giving a cent to the rice jew.

DD is the easiest to grind line in IJN, not only for the lower XP costs (lower than SS even) but also because you get so much XP from spotting it's not even fair. Don't listen to the lies of /sog/, almost every DD in the IJN line is enjoyable to play with, fuck I had fun wrecking lafos with my lolibote or seal clubbing with pic related even when people told me she was too slow to be good.

In my matches with no DD and CV, both teams usually rush. Torps help a lot with that to make them brake and turn, or to make the enemy cruiser to leave the smoke he's in. Also, you don't use them when they are in the 4km range, you use them to deny them entering the 4km range, same way as DD use them to block the advance of the enemy DD.
Groggy please, I like USN cruisers too, but you can't deny torps are pretty damn good and versatile.

Tier 1-3 has AI players added and set to TDM (12 lives) if 16 players are not available.
Reasoning: You probably got to T2 in a single match. And if you did well for the daily you probably could reach T3. So brand new players previously had to wait ages for matches at low tier because everybody jumps past T1&2 so quickly.
And people don't tend to enjoy waiting 2-5-10 minutes for a match for a game they just spent time waiting for it to install. So AI was added and that's been a major help to numbers acquisition..

They released some things to try and make it better but made it worse in ways.
A patch is coming to revamp the talent tree but there are a few things that are broken as fuck about it (Pay $$ to level commanders, a top tier skill is basically a 'Nearest enemy is over there' pointer so DD's will be fucked.
British CL's were added but they don't have HE and have citadels that are comparable to the Tenryuu so most BB's turn and remove.
German BB's are broken as fuck because they are WG's first attempt at making the game that to now has been "Tanks on Water" mechanics into actual ships and so is top damage for effectively every tier.
And WG's been raking in the Goybucks despite servin shit that their playerbase laps up.
Oh, and their Super Test Coordinator that had been stripped of his position after being caught red handed using the Aim Assist cheat? He waited a bit, changed his name, and is back in that position again.

If for example you despise DD's and spotting, but enjoy longer range bombardments then a DD or CL'd probably be bad and a CA/BB 'good'
Or if you like subs, hate subs. etc.
there's more to it than just "The best"
Free Premium T5 BattleCruiser "Repulse" is listed in the OP. Glass cannon but works well enough for Challenge/Overlord mode and prints quite a bit of credits. Also if it's your first T5 BB then it gives like 15 commander rolls or somethin like that too.

Alright, first, try to be atleast average looking to have a chance.As you expect, grills judge based on looks and the first opinion that they have of someone can be nigh impossible to change.
Second, introduce yourself to the group in a non-autistic way.Dont drop any pasta or instantly isolate yourself, integrate to the class even if its fucking annoying.
Third, join group activities/clubs that are atleast vaguely intresting to you, be it a band, a sport, the student council or anything.The anime club is a high risk and the videogame related ones are full of dudebros.
Fourth, "be yourself".Hardest part, you basically have to behave like a normie while adapting your intrests to it to a degree where it doesnt seem exessive.
Fifth, aquire targets.By joining several social groups, you will meet grills in them so pick the ones that caught your atention and the vaguely intresting ones to have several options.
Sixth, stablish contact with the targets.Get their number for texting, chat over goybook, doesnt matter but talk with the target,start with something related to the activity you're doing with her and then start adding things out of it. Dont go full love letter under the cherry tree or 8 paragraphs long facebook declaration because it actually is the most UNRELIABLE method, keep a conversation and develop a bond. Do this with all the grills you could get their contact info.
Seventh, separate the wheat from the chaff.drop the ones that dont fit your criteria, the ones that dont talk a lot to you (even the silent shy grills will start talking if they're intrested), the ones with bfs (you'll have to out-chad the guy and get him out of her mind to have a chance, nigh-impossible unless you're a smart motherfucker), etc.
