You can easily kill it with a Grigori bow, 4 periapts and blast arrows. With some luck, gorecyclops drops level 2 weapons quite often.

1-10 Mage and 11-100 Sorc with whatever augments you get along the way is a good start.

Eventually you'll want Stability from Ranger and maybe Bastion from Warrior, Bastion I think you can buy right off the bat but Ranger you'll definitely have to farm vocation levels for. Other than that fill out the rest of the Mage augments then equip accordingly.

I tried to assemble a combination for my pawn that looks the most like she's wearing a short surcoat over actual armour (i.e. mail with bits of plate), which is difficult on a Sorceror.

The Brigandine Jacket has mail sleeves, the Ancient Bangles are more or less splinted braces, and the Braided Hosen look decently mail-ish at least from the front. The Plebian Shirt substitutes as a very poor man's surcoat.
Any suggestions for how to improve on this?

Don't bother using the armour sets given to you at the inn, they're mostly crutches that are hard to upgrade out of because you'll constantly be comparing the defense of one piece of armour to the defense of the mediocre voldoan set. So it's best to just forgo using them at all and use the regular pieces of armour you'll find in shops and around the world.

Money is pointless throughout most of the game, but when you find the shops in the everfall some of that equipment costs around 1mil and is the best you can get at that point in the game. After that money becomes pointless again. Gold cost of enhancing isn't even a factor since you can dragonforge with no enhancement easily on cursed dragons.

MK because you can't just spit arrows at everything and you actually have to plan your shit. Block enemy attacks over time and use the combined energy to devastate them (seriously Demon'swrath is GOAT skill - fully charged it can knock prisonerclopses over). Plus you still have a decent ranged option.

MA you can set yourself on fire and cling to bosses while shanking them rapidly to destroy them in seconds, and your bow pretty much has an answer to anything. Quite overpowered in BBI. Also you can make your party immunie to status effects with a single bow skill.

As the other anon said, Guardian makes your pawn just stand around you being useless. Nexus does pretty much the same, except they hang around other pawns.

Scather or Mitigator would be my suggestion for a Fighter, mixed with Utilitarian if you've got a bit of monster knowledge.

Anything combat related like challenger mitigator scather or utilitarian depending on how you want them to act. You just don't want guardian or nexus because it makes them stupid. Aquisitor and pioneer are debatable but generally unpopular.

A'ight, scratch that. Anguish and Warrior skills are reasonably murderous, just had to give it a bit more play. Anguish still does better with Gouge or Skewer though, and of course MA or Yellow in general toss the shit out of this game better than anyone else can regardless. Lol.

Yes, but it's nothing to worry about since each level starts off at zero xp rather than keeping a total of all xp earned, so the extra exp aren't going to change the Lv that much when the pawn gets hired, a couple of extra levels aren't going to bother anyone.

I think Assman is only good for mountable bosses because of gouging perk when mounted, otherwise it is an advanced swordsman class that has unique high damage and zoning strikes/counters which is very useful for a melee pawn if they know how to fight and be more aggressive with higher combat skill.

People will say 1-10 Mage > 11-200 Sorcerer, but this will make your character way too glassy with too little stamina. At the very least, consider getting in some Ranger levels because they have the best stamina growth. HP isn't that big a deal since you're not gonna be in the front lines anyway, but definitely get those big stamina increases while you can. That way you're not out of breath after casting a couple spells.

I remove them when I go to rest to the inn but I tried and I'm trying them, as anons said pawns can't use them very well and without them they perfect block more. When I see him use one of those shied skill well enough I leave it when I rest at the inn, that's what happened with Divine Defense which is the only one he has actually used properly so far.
Not that fighter's shield skills are that great in the first place, a couple are useful only if you have a shield that has status effect, sheltered assault is pretty good (it also consumes very little stamina) but my pawn can't use it properly, and so on.

How nice would it be if there was a "Wait" command for your pawns? Trying to withdraw from a fight is a pain in the ass because one of the pawns gets knocked out so when you go in to carry them out, the others follow you in and get knocked out.

Yeah, burst strike+dragons maw(+proficiency) is absolutely essential, burst strike really makes the difference between fighter and warrior, especially with the ring. So far I've avoided heavenly slash because I thought it worked well only in some specific cases (harpies flying low enough, some peculiar monsters with weak point placed at that height, and so on).
