On second thought. I think in theory it could be useful when combined with Pickaxe that can destroy walls.
Enter 1 wall layer, cost 10 HP.
Pickaxe on the wall layer behind it, cost 10 HP.
You now essentially have a free Hiding Pot.
It just costs 2 inventory space, and 20 HP to initiate.
You will be safe behind the hole behind the wall and can regenerate the HP.
But I guess you would also become a sitting duck for Ghosts, unless you use the Pickaxe to make the hole bigger.

It might be useful, I'm still not sure.

If you're talking about building a sanctuary/hiding, you could do the same thing with the wall creating staff, binding staff, or just the actual sanctuary scroll, at no HP cost.

If you're in a dungeon with the unbreakable pickaxe, you probably carried it in, which means you also have whatever else overpowered items you want, so in the end it matters very little what items you choose.

It's too situational, I just tested it, and it down't work on bushes, only walls.

Gen really doesn't seem to do much, Jiro seems more useful since he saves some of your items when you die. Fox girl that transforms into monster is pretty useful since she gets a gazer as her second transformation which inflicts confuse regularly.

I was underpowered and had to take defensive position ad a doorway to heal HP. And having Jirokichi next to me pretty much double my DPS against anyone who entered through the doorway.

I'm not saying he's more useful than Tao, just Gen in general since they both seem to do the same things (why even give Gen a gun he never uses?). My favorite party is probably fox girl sister that changes to monster + Jiro + Tao.

Richfag is probably the worst one to bring since he always separates from the party to fight any monster that appears in an area and will regularly ditch your party after going up some stairs. His only positive is his ranged money bag attacks but even then those aren't that useful if he quickly approaches enemies instead of staying behind.

What's the best way to deal with Foly in Shiren 5 Tower of Future?

There are no commentary Let's Plays too. If I want to look into a game before buying it, I usually just type in the name of the game to YT with the word Let's Play, and just find the the third video in a series to watch.

The third one is usually farm enough in that they don't waste half the video talking about themselves, and they are usually familiar enough with the game by that point to give a good impression of it. Plus, watching a Let's Play gives you a much more honest review of the game than actual reviews.

Ohhhh, now I finally understand the full purpose of the Storage building in Nekomanki village.

There's the standard testing your attacks and throwing around pots to brak them and get their content, etc.

But in addition it's also useful if your 80 slots at the storage clerk is full, and you need emergency spareroom because you want to try out the mini games where you will / or risk losing your equipment, So that space is good for dumping your most important equipment. And they are easy to get again because you just need to walk over them.

The basic concept is all the same (I think Fushigen is based on the mystery dungeon series) but details are quite different. There are elements that resemble hunger, pots, wepon growth, strength etc.

Shiren is a lot more challenging and interesting (in the sense that many weird things can happen).

Fushigen on the other hand is much easier to play and better, resource wise, in the story part. In Fushigen you don't lose your equipment when you die, so there's less risk involved. It is fully voiced and has 3D cutscenes, events with characters has portraits and CG.
