At the end of Rance III/03* Rance gets rid of Chaos so he can fuck Gele.

After Rance is stuck in the void, Sel takes care of Chaos.

Rance doesn't met up with Sel again until Rance VI when Kamilla's invasion reminds him that he needs to get Chaos.
He brings it with him to JAPAN because he heads to JAPAN straight after the events of Rance VI.

After Sengoku Rance, Rance spends a long time in CITY bumming off Copa and not doing anything at all. So he gets rid of Chaos who Matilda gets hold of.

Later he gets Chaos off Matilda and keeps it for the rest of Quest and Magnum and then keeps Chaos in Rance IX (though doesn't use him in battle).

Disappointing stuff in Rance 6:
The music, Kichikou, 5D,Sengoku, and Quest's ost are much better.
The SP system is annoying as hell, in Quest at least when you're high level enough the number of moves becomes irrelevant, in 6 you can be lvl 40/50 and still struggle with the SP.

People talk like you have to go back every 2 minutes for running out of SP, but you can easily explore the whole map with your full party and most of the time you'll either run out of SP right before the boss or not run out at all and still have your A Team for the final battle. You don't need more than 2 runs to explore the whole thing, 3 at most.

SP is what keeps the game from just being a generic dungeon crawler. I admit it's kinda a pain in the ass to get all the way to the boss only for your good party members to run out of SP. But this makes you put more planning into who you want in your party and when you want to use them. The dungeons are designed to be easy to exit and reenter with very little punishment if any, so as long as you're not a retard who can't change out active party member you'll be fine.

Orbs keep the pace of the story so you don't do it all at once... but they are a pain to grind.

I dunno, that doesn't sound like a very good idea to me. The characters that are actually supposed to be strong wouldn't stand out if it was like that.

And the enemy encounters/dungeons would have to be redesigned now that you're always fighting with your A team. So exploration might still be tedious just because every fight is now either much more difficult and requires your best all the time, or the fights aren't hard enough for your super-soldiers and it's just boring cutting through them.

Stun cuts the entire difficulty of this game in half, most of the characters are bottom of the barrel tier only serving as meatshields for you to explore (since grinding in VI is easier with Rick alone than an entire B team) that aren't even that useful anyway (since Rocky, Rance and Copandon can retreat with a 100% rate).

How do I deal with the time restriction in 5D? I'm on Chapter 3 and even using a guide to skip everything and throw myself into the dungeon with max time, either I can't grind enough to get Rance Attack for the boss, the unavoidable Elephant Midboss fucks me up, battles and EXP are too infrequent, Timebags are bullshit that only give me a pittance, and all my treasure chests contain downgrades and no armor. I wouldn't even mind the no control battle aspect if I wasn't restricted to a time limit or that battles didn't pass time, but they do.

Also I feel like so many scenes are missed because I can't interact or check everything because of this goddamn time limit. Like I've only seen 1 soul for Feliss so far and I'll never be able to get her all 5 for whatever reason before those dirty penguins show up. Maybe I'll just go straight to VI and accept what I already know: Rizna is a baka and Rance fucks her after they get out.

Go Regular Rolls all the way. That's usually the best way to do it. The three and fives don't increase the odds of event orbs as much, so you're cutting out too much fighting by depending on it.

If you finish the earlier Chapters with a lot of time left, you should have bucket lots of EXP from the Time Bonus, so try multiple level ups.

I think the gameplay in SR was fine. Rance doing what he wants while other houses do their thing is fine. Even when you get extra action fans, Rance says that he'll work harder, meaning he'll be less lazy and put a bit more of time into taking action.
Also, the battles were fine since, because you deal with territories, it's not all about who has more troops, but who ended up with the most advantage in the field.
