How common is it for commercial shmups to legit drop below 60 fps (low 50s for example) during heavy bullet storms? And I don't mean the pre-planned, calculated slow downs that are intended (or passed off as intended) for gameplay balance.

How acceptable is this really? (say it only happens on the last phase/minute of each stage boss)

Didn't get much done, but I've accumulated 110h in DBCS, I no-missed every standard arcade route and played through most of CS mode. Still not able to kill GT without dying or getting hit, b-but otherwise I think I'm getting pretty good in shmups and Darius specifically! I think it's time to train GT! I just never did because I felt like I "beat" the game if I can kill him easily, but it's not really the truth...
I'll optimise my scoring routes for arcade mode until I'm happy with them and see how they stack up to the pros I guess!

Other than that, I no-missed top route in G.Darius and I shall continue no-missing all routes and getting the Silver Hawk ranking on all of them!
And then I'll play a lot of Darius Gaiden!

I'll definitely play ALLTYNEX Second a lot in the near-future! And the rest of the Tale of ALLTYNEX too!

my problem on stage 2 is the midboss since it has sometimes nasty rng and i have yet to make a set in stone route because right now there is always a little bit of variation in every run

when it comes to stage 3 im trying to do pretty much the same iconoclast does exept the death at start but i dont know when to exactly use the first break mode and right after the midboss i feel like the medium ship sometimes spawns based on rng and blocks me from getting the energy drop and therefore i cant get double break going on in that section. anyway those 2 are my biggest concerns of stage 3 because so far i have been getting trough the worm thingys and other troublesome parts after midboss pretty consistently

I'm pretty much doing sit-ups, push-ups and running as applicable, currently can do little at a time without exhaustion, but I expect that to change. Hopefully this shall allow me to quit my antidepressant prescribed to me by the big pharma in my moment of weakness, which in turn will increase my will to play shmups more, enabling me to explore my potential in full.
