The soundtrack is 90% of it and the rest is pacing,prestige and the over exaggerated "complexity". The game is easy as fuck until stage 6 so even the shitters feel like they're good for getting so far and contrary to belief a majority of scoring tricks are not complicated at all.

I've been told that the slowdown inaccuracies on Deathsmiles Steam version make it especially hard to play on Canyon or Death Mode. I'm going to spend some time playing the 360 port's Arcade version and see how much of a difference there is. Sucks though, I can't stream the 360 port.

I don't think it's entirely absent from vanilla Deathsmiles, though. MBL1.1 yes, doesn't seem to be any slowdown anywhere, but on vanilla, for example, I can feel the slowdown during the more intensive parts of the Forest stage.

It may be correct to say that it's entirely missing from certain parts of the game though, which is what I meant by "inaccuracies". Not a case of "It doesn't slow down as much as it should at so-and-so point", but more "there's slowdown at x point but then there's no slowdown at all at y point".

There's nothing wrong with Adventure Rebirth. From a gameplay perspective it's on the action side but it is still a good game and does not betray the castlevania feel.

I'm pretty sure that's *almost* true for r-type until you enter negative Bydo dimension. That's only one ship.

In Metal Black if you die an entire fleet of Black Fly mobilize by people who were inspired by your courage. though given how it goes when you win, I'm pretty sure that's not a good thing.

Border Down has 3 ships flying concurrently through the same area performing different missions and that's reflected in the gameplay.

I think the only exceptions we can make to this are the games with a single set protagonist.

desu I can kinda see why it was overlooked, game feels kinda rushed. The levels feel too short and don't have nearly enough interesting stuff going on and bosses range from fucking awesome and difficult like the red mechs to lazy easy fights like the level 5 boss. Gonna play on expert once I get through normal, hopefully that'll make the game feel more satisfying.

Finally got a chance to practice some Deathsmiles on 360. I feel like I do a little better on 360 than on the Steam version, and I think I do notice a little more slowdown on the 360 (Arcade) version. I'm not sure how much of an effect it has on the overall difficulty though, and I don't really want to jump to conclusions just yet in case it's just a placebo effect, or even just a fluke that I wound up doing better on the 360 version.

More you damage the boss -> the higher the satisfaction meter goes. Doing shit like bombing decreases the meter, and what final boss you fight depends on how much you filled the satisfaction meter.

in eosd you spam bombs on some patterns, I can give you that, though the resources are pretty limited and since every bomb can be used for good scoregain you want to nmnb everything else, which includes msot of the hard patterns
in IN you bomb very little, ghostteam are the only ones that don't aim to finish with full resources and they still want to have full lives I believe, which leaves 1 suicide
in mountain of faith you use quite a few bombs but you also have to capture every spellcard for a good score
subterranean animism is trubombspam on lunatic, though it's not as bad on lower difficulties since you cant suicide or die
in UFO and ideal route would never go for UFOs that increase you resources so you don't have many bombs at your exposure to begin with (I think even most of the current wrs get an extra life though)
in TD you spam bombs and trance, trukusoge, the extra isn't so bad though atleast
DDC and Lolk are bombspam games aswell, so it's mosstly these newer titles that are bad.

btw I didn't call you dumb unless you define your intelligence by your knowledge about Touhou, which seeing how you went out of your way to respond to an old post just to spread misinformation might be the case I guess.
