I find I like Plateau setting, but I've been through this game a few times so maybe one of the other settings will do you better. It ought to work with Hard Mode, but the doubled xp kinda defeats the purpose... so I'm not sure why you'd bother.

There are other mods, but I wound up picking this one because the mod page has snazzy graphs and been pleased with it since.

The stagger resist is also balls if you're melee. Especially for a Warrior.

And the extra stamina consumption just means bringing extra mushrooms to munch, pressing a hotkey more often isn't my idea of fun.

When it comes to physical immune, if you get yourself an Arc ring then you can actually pop a Living Armor high enough to kill them by fall damage.

I did quest to kill the Griffin. Reloaded at one point because 2 of my pawns died for not running quick enough and i wasn't about to accept that.

It was nice to see doing an earlier side quest benefited me.

I had mentioned in the last thread about enemies being easier now that I'm leveled up a bit but I ran into some bandits that gave me some trouble. I ended up traveling to bluemoon tower at night and found out the hard way that bow wielding bandits are no joke. They have perfect accuracy and were dealing a ton of damage. Died once to them.

I also finally found the witchwood since a follower mentioned something I needed for a quest might be there.

Now I see why I couldn't seem to find them at the beginning of the game when I made an attempt at doing the lost and found quest but gave up.

I had went that way before but was no match for the group of bandits that pushed the rock down so I turned back and didn't go back there until I had gained a few more levels but I had failed the quest at that point and hadn't bothered looking for the witchwood since.

I don't see how they expect you to go through there at the beginning of the game unless you're supposed to sprint past them or something.

They were tough on me for normal mode but I went back to the riftstone and realized I could have a third pawn, so I grabbed a fighty one and she took a lot of the pressure off of me, became very manageable.

If you see an attack coming and know it will slap you out of your charge, press jump to cancel the charge and use escape/exodus slash to invincibility frame dodge it.

Keep your pawns alive and stop charging if he's possessing one

If hes close to death you can try grabbing his chest and mashing light attack.

Theres probably some spelltome or rusty weapon or throwblast shit you can do, but thats no fun.

I'm planning on playing a warrior and being kind of a tank. Is the difference that large or should I just play as moderate for the stamina gains and climbing gains.

I heard enemies would have a harder time knocking you over if you're heavy.

The damage cap for the online ur on pc sure is low. I went in with a goldforged devilsbane using bloodlust adhesion opportunism clout vehemence and only stacked 4x periapts twice to spam deadly gouge a bit and left and it was enough to not get a server update. PC grace if anyone cares.

It's sensibly sized like a believable area though, unlike skyrim.

I haven't gone further than NG+ but once you reach the point where nothing in the mainland can hurt you, shit gets pretty stale. By then you'd have spent at least 150 hours.

It is nice to wander aimlessly and take in all the details though, really just appreciating the sound and environment design and such.

But a hard reset may be more engaging with focused direction in a single play style or two. Avoid BBI until post-dragon or maybe even post-everfall. I started poking into BBI around level 40 pre-dragon and nothing was a challenge from then until BBI 2.0. That's about... half the 200 hours I've spent so far... seems like.

It's good dungeon crawling fun, plus the community-lite mechanic.

Sometimes I want to dive into BBI, sometimes I wanna grab some low level pawns and drag them through the story decking them out in sweet gear, sometimes I want a fresh start.

But it's a solid game despite its faults, if nothing else I can just farm BBI gear while listening to podcasts. If there's ever a DD2 and it's got Diablo-tier itemization I'll be straight up addicted.

This game has probably the most retarded healing system i've ever seen in a game. The only way anything can kill you is if it one-shots you. Good stuff.

Funny, a few days ago I thought I was shilling the Alt Xp Tables mod... then there was another anon out-shilling me on it.

It's legit good, as simple and unintuitive as it sounds. Really helps to keep your level in check compared to the rest of the game. I've been doing plateau, but it's hard for me to say if that's appropriate or not given I hit BBI early... but it feels right considering.

I'm toying with the notion of starting up an alt acct and starting completely fresh with the Alt XP Tables mod. Leave Nero in the mid-50s and have a go at early BBI with some throwblasts. Might even do a role reversal and play Sorc while making my pawn Fighter or Warrior.

But yeah, I hear you. I'll probably save that playthrough for after I take another break, that's usually when I most feel like starting fresh.

This fucking game I swear. I started a quest to escort a spoiled brat in GS, little devil tumbles down, I rush to pick her up - turns out, that was a "criminal act" somehow, and end up in jail.

Quest failed, the game saves automatically in jail, no way to reset.

She has a holy damage sword and that shield that reduces enemy strength. Very tanky, I think she's scath/mitig.
