Nobody in this game is solo-able unless you're playing against bad people. Also Zen is pretty vulnerable on his own since he has little mobility and a regular 200hp health pool. His shield recharge helps but doesn't mean he can tank anything. Zen is a reliable DPS/healer but does both only decently.

In short he's a good choice but not insane.
