Reposting this in the vain hope that if I post it often enough I might be able to meme it into existence.

guys, what if
New weapons:
>Staff of Alteration
Focus on defensive abilities, damage shields, mage armors. Blocking with an alteration staff consumes magicka instead of stamina. Damage shields have their timers increased to 10 seconds if an alteration staff is equipped.
>Staff of Conjuration
Non-sorcerer pet skill line. Summon flame atronach - can be morphed into summon greater flame atronach with a focus on dps and inflicting breach and fracture, reducing enemy defences, or summon frost atronach, which has focuses more on defense and grants resolve and ward to nearby allies. Summon skeletal minion, which can be morphed into summoning two skeletons, or summoning a skeletal construct. Alternatively, morphed into summoning a ghost instead. Rest focuses on debuffs and maybe a command creature skill, forcing enemies to fight each other. Maybe make conjuration summons 20sec summons rather than toggles so you can switch bars and for sorcs to keep their pet class status.

I just want a bit more magic variety. Magic tanks that aren't just sword&shield and viable pet builds that contribute in some way.
Also for them to do something with frost staff. I don't really see a point in it existing right now.

Honestly I'd definitely be super down for something beyond "DAMAGE STAFF: THREE FLAVORS" as mag dps. It means each mag class uses more of their class skills and feels pretty different but goddamn is it boring. Being able to mag-tank with a staff would be pretty fucking awesome.

I'm not a pet class man but I'm sure those that are would dig it. I also really like the idea of them being timed instead of toggles, that's one thing that really puts me off from summons in this. Double-barring bound armor already makes me feel cramped, let alone sticking minions on there so they don't suddenly explode when I swap to try and do some damage myself.

Whats the most skin-tight or chest exposing light armor style?

I had an idea for thu'um world skill tree. Before you start calling me skyrim faggot, I think Skyrim is worst TES game and I hated shouting in Skyrim after my first playtrough. In TESO i would love to be thu'um user/skald. This skill tree would be free update. Skill tree would have 1 ultimate and 5 active skills or just one ultimate thar could be almost any shout.

Great suggestions, but i went for Exoth. It's short, easy to type, and one word, and can be easily shortened to "Ex".

These are criteria I always have in mind when planning MMO names. You sometimes need to type up shit to friends fast, and in groups, short but distinguishable names are golden.

Now, does the game allow to mix and match later on with playstyles and gear choices, or will I "waste points" if I wear light armor for a bunch of levels then later switch to heavy?

It takes decades of practice and learning to be able to shout unless you are a dragon born. That's what made you so special in skyrim when you are able to learn all these different shouts.

Generally you will only wear one weight of armor at a time. Tanks are slightly different as there's some shenanigans you can get up to with the Tava's Favor set but they're still almost entirely heavy armor. Stamina DPS is medium armor. Magicka DPS and Magicka healz are light armor.

That said you don't really expend any "points" leveling up a skill line, you only use points on it if you buy the passives with skill points and honestly there's more than enough skill points in the game to spend some in a line you don't really use much. Especially if that character isn't your crafter.

You can always respec attribute and skill point distribution at capital cities (Eldenroot, Mournhold and Wayrest) anyways. It just costs a couple thousand gold.

Actually, the same book that says they use Akaviri battle techniques says that some of their skills (like the fire breath) are considered by some to be a form of thu'um.

Of course that doesn't make them dragonborn (you can't teach that, obviously), but it'd fit with their dragon-aboo ways to know a couple words.

Im at "The Army of Meridia" quests in main line and all wiki says that I should get one of the Lights of Meridai from helping argonians in south-west, but I didnt get it.

I'm on that quest too. That quest is bretty gud for being open ended. No markers you have to full morrowind and read what people are telling you. The grounds keeper tells you to go west or I think east to get veranus or the ayelid king but you need some lights of meridian. If you head west like directly west in a line you will run into new quest markers. Do them as they are all quests that end in you getting a crystal and collecting guild members.

I think the worst was how Cyrodiil looks like it does in Oblivion while some people expected it to be a jungle.

In Arena and Daggerfall it was described as a jungle. In Morrowind it was described as both a woodland and a jungle depending on your source. And in Oblivion it looks like it does in Oblivion. This was sort of explained by Talos changing it from jungle to woodlands when he acceded to godhood.

Would actually be a good way to give an 'evasion' style ability to Magicka users. Levitate could be Magicka sprinting and you could give some form of short range teleport as a Magicka dodge.

The PvP so fucking good when it's good, like I really hope they try their best to fix it, just had a 1v1 with a guy who kicked my ass few times but that feeling of just trading blows for like 5-10 mins like fucking titans clashing together.

It has more responsibilities though maybe not harder. Tanks do need to know the mechanics of dungeons, whereas DPS can usually learn it on the spot or just generally stay out of red circles.

DPS also quest faster, though as someone else said, even a group of 561 DPSes can die to WB easily if they don't have a tanky guy of some sort.

I only have 3 months into the game. But honestly race is huge for any player that gives a crap about doing well.

Imperial is not great for a ranged class because you miss out on the red diamond passive. But it's still possible. Imperial is one of the few classes that can be used for almost anything.

I too avoid wood elves and high elf's for....reasons. So as a result all magicka DPs characters of mine are dunmer . 2nd best choice

My main character was a nord DK tank. Same problem as you. Questing solo is hell because I can't kill anything in less than 10 minutes per mov it feels like. I have no DPS. However in dungeons I'm godlike.sovi get where you are coming from.

if you don't want to worry about sales and shit too hard just join the big ones and then buy an item from it that's an easy turnaround like crafting mats then sell it for 250-500 gold under you just made your quota and only lost a single vendor trash items worth then focus on jewwing it up.
The trading market system in this game is a little weird and feels like cheap broken lazy shit, but after you get use to it its actually really great and you can basically smelt your own Fort Knox by hauling cheap items from little outlying vendors to the city hubs

Can someone help me figure out what class I should pick? I leveled a nightblade to level 6 but wasn't really feeling it. It's fun from a role play perspective but I could see how it could get boring in dungeon/end-game content just shooting arrows at people or flinging daggers around.

Tried making a dragonknight for tanking but I'm not too sure about it. Also getting bored of running through the same starting zone.

I like to play things that are viable and actually good at high end progression levels once I'm max since I like to do that sort of content.

I kind of wanted to play a necromancer type character but heard that Sorcerer is an overplayed class. Is a summoning build viable at end game?

Pretty much the min-max race of magic choice.
Don't worry about something being overplayed there are only 4 classes so it doesn't really matter if a class is over played, you can play the same class multiple different ways so it is all good. You have to try real hard to be not viable at all.

It is NOT limited to DoTs, it procs on ground AoEs, channeled single target, channeled aoe and if there are other kind of offensive abilities probably them too, in fact when I look at my offensive bar the only thing I don't know for sure it procs on is reflective light (multi-target DoT)

He wasn't very hard, but at least it was satisfyingly cinematic. He got it better than ol' Mehrunes did. Certainly much better than Alduin getting chumped like any generic dragon encounter.

Game mechanic wise, the final fights for DC and AD's faction MQ were definitely better than both Bal and just about any mainline TES antagonist. Phases and shit! Goddamn.

So when I'm just walking around sometimes I see those molar Bal anchors drop. A ton of people crowd it and start dominating whatever comes out. I always try to join in and hit some stuff. What is happening here, and am I awarded for my menial labor in any way?

Yeah, with exp and chest of some items when you take part in killing mobs around. Mobs themsleves also gives out exp, if you hit some (which is why it is advised to use AoE), but exp gain from that way is reduced the more people take part in killing. Some maps with dolmens placed close to waypoints (for easy travel) are the most popular ones for "farming" dolmens, so they give much less experience points.

Some people use them for training characters, but this is slow and boring process, to be honest. It is good for training skills however, especialyl with training gear.

It's not important if you don't care about vet dungeons and above, since other hard content basically just requires you to have a decent build, stay out of red circles, and interrupt at certain bosses.

As for how to animation cancel, I find staff easier than melee weapons. Basically, just hit light attack then use a skill right after. I find it easiest to try with force pulse and impulse. It's not that much more damage increase, but the differences matter for the highest content. It is nice for the ultimate generation though.

First of all, each class can be built for magic or stamina dps/tank. Breton magNB is totally fine and Breton magNB tank is actually top tier.

As for sorcerer, based on your post, I assume you're going for a magic build. MagSorcerers rely heavily on the destruction staff skills as spammable abilities. You want the crystal fragment morph that allows your magic skills to proc it and use that along with force pulse from destruction. The sorcerer skills that are helpful for leveling are your summons and eventually ward.

I hate to be that guy and say use google, but that's a good place to start. Just make sure you're reading guides that are at least within 4 months or so updated.

Most guides will be useless to someone who is leveling though. It'll recommend rotations or skillbar skilled with skills you won't get until later or not useful for fighting things that don't live longer than 10 seconds.

Just use common sense and experiment. Respeccing is easy.

Started playing oblivion again because of Gold Coast DLC. And fuck, it's so much better than Skyrim. I also think TESO is more like oblvion than it's Skyrim, at least after they add spell crafting. Skyrim is so fucking rushed, casualised, and shit quests. Those are 3 major reasons why I hate Skyrim.
How many fetch quests TESO has? 2? The dungeons were pretty bad, but at least a lot of the quests were still cool and interesting.

Skyrim had almost zero memorable quests, and those that were, is purely because they had cool visuals.

I am super impressed by the quests in ESO so far.

There are layouts that are identical in TESO, yes. They probably use a similar modular building system.
Skyrim of course, uses premade kit sets, that's the only way you can EVER build large open worlds with a large amount of interiors like that. It's called modular level design.
The difference is Oblivion and Morrowind had entire premade layouts. Think of it like building a lego set, versus having a set where most of the parts are already built for you.

you can swap to any role later on so long as you do the wear one of non main armor pieces meme so you can put points into their passives. Also the second bar should be different weapon meme since i dont think shit like bows can tank.

Most duelers are max CP (I have 170) and have best gear while mine is still CP 120 crap so I have no chance, while beating newbies with equivalent CP and 0 PvP experience is too easy (I spent most time in PvP, that's why I'm low level, but I've played since spring... And I'm still bad ;_;)

Relatively new here, do all the heavy armor motifs just look like shit at low levels? Should I just wait until I can use them cool high level ores or buy some rare stuff in the guild shops? Also thinking about the Ice stuff out of the crown store.
