If I'm looking up a tank build (magblade specifically), and they don't explicitly state it anywhere or post a list of passives, it's safe to assume I'm supposed to wear all heavy armor, right? Only time you don't wear all heavy armor is for the undaunted passives. Even then, it's not always better. It's hard to explain everything, but it's easier to just stick with all heavy then worry about missing in 1 medium/light later. Putting 1 piece of light for passives is not worth it, because the armor passives all scale based on number of armor worn.

Just grab siphon attack as soon as you can, and your Magicka sustain will be nonissue. You won't have enough skill points while leveling, so it's not with it to carry a set of light armor along with light armor passives just for soloing.

Oh but don't do all of that at once. If you wanna go magic, stick with it, then choose healer, tank or damage.

Going magic is probably easier, because you have strong magic heals. It also allows you to easily equip a restoration staff secondary bar for quick dungeon queues. If you feel like it, you can respec into heavy armor and do magic tanking too.

I like BDO and GW2, but their armor style is definitely "weeb" in a sense. TES games have always went with grim, "realistic", and minimalistic designs. There will never be giant flaming shoulder pads or massive horned back pieces like GW2 or BDO.

Some of the later sets indeed look great, and it's clear you don't have them yet. Most games have ugly early game armors anyways.

I've only played wow and ff14 briefly and they are mainly fetch quests with ff14 having partial voice acting but prob the best camera work in the genre. Wow is just walls of paragraphs still I think with no voice acting.

With ESO you get full voice acting and standard/no camera work but you get quests with optional conditions, choosing one ending or another, and sometimes you don't get a marker you just get *HINT so you have to look around a bit to figure it out.

ESO has the best story and but it's comparable to ff14. ESO would have the best quests in the game if it also had ff14s camera work. In the end eso is still wow style paragraphs but more dynamic with voice acting and emotes.

The only thing worth anything from this event is the hissmir fish-eye rye recipe, it's a gold and you need that for the achievement and title so the cheapest Ive ever seen one go for is 20k but they're usually in the 40-50 range, and I imagine that'll just keep going up when the event ends

I'm running a DK stamtank on one of my characters right now and basically I have one bar with two-handed for slightly more damage and some damage buffs like Igneous Weapons, then my main 1h & shield bar is (the morphed versions of) Puncture, Deep Slash, Draconic Blood, Earthen Heart, Draconic Armor or whatever it's called, and Magma Armor

The build basically is just applying like 6 different kinds of buffs, keeping taunt, bleed, and maim up, and then spamming heavy attacks to keep up stamina so I can block when a big hit comes

It's not always the most exciting but it works

160 CP is the gear cap, 561 CP is the amount you can allot in the champion system, and you can continue getting them until you reach 3600 CP, which is when you will stop receiving them.

As a new player I picked Altmer Templar and figured I would either be a plate-wearing healer or Paladin-type character but after looking at some of the best healer builds it looks like a plate-wearing, staff using healer. I also have no clue what I'm doing so I just keep going along with the Harborage quests.

I crafted up a new-tank super special, with whitestrake 5p, song of lamae 4p, and endurance jewellery, just 1 ring with hp instead of robust. All points in stam because I didn't want to respec that, and all purple health glyphs. Sit at just under 30k hp and seems to tank fine.

Take a look at your bars, sometimes it's worth having a shadow skill slotted on both for the hp boost, plus if it's not the ult it means you can activate major ward/resolve without switching if needed.
Fear might fuck with dps, but the shades can be useful, and the other two are shitty for tanks.

Also once you gear up, don't be afraid to have different monster sets for different scenarios. Swarm mothers set is good for fake chains and you could use 1/1 pirate skel/mighty chudan for more defense on big bosses

Twilight matriarch buff is newish, and not very many people actually write guides. You see guides of the most popular meta stuff, because that's where most people are at.

I've done trials with my sorcerer healer, and I would argue that they are the second best healer right below Templar due to versatility. Only reason Templar is automatics number one is because they can give the party stamina.

Twilight heal is an awesome emergency heal as well as casual mindless heal if you are just maintaining. The resto stuff are good to supplement with HOT and buffs, while twilight is your default spam when needed.

People shy away from sorcerer healing because pets traditionally get a bad rep. Twilight matriarch is actually pretty easy to keep alive for most situations unless your group is chain pulling mobs to the boss or something stupid. It's ranged and always stays back, and your ward does a lot to sustain you and it.
I personally run win the other ward that lasts longer and five Magicka Regen.

What people don't realize is that sorcerer has strong CC through absorption field and encase, infinite Magicka during high stress situation sustain dark conversion, and that ward is amazing for survavability.

Yeah, empowered ward I feel is better than the hardened ward, mostly because wards cost not much time or magicka to cast, and hardened ward only affects you in the first place. Having to go back every six seconds to re-apply it can be a pain ultimately, whereas that 5% magicka regen is helpful in any situation.
The ward in general is a huge lifesaver, since it casts so fast. I think people need to start seeing it more as a weird pseudo-heal.

DK is effective but also the easiest tank to play and requires the least effort to be strong.

MagNB tank can be equally effective for high end content, and some argues that it's even better than DKs. However. It requires a lot more effort to play/gear up, and you have to do more even for easier stuff like WB.

For example, with all the wards DK can put up, you don't have to worry about blocking as much, since blocking doesn't do anything for ward hp anyways. Meanwhile, magNB is tanking with its health and playing the leeching game. It requires a lot more active blocking especially if you don't have good resistance yet.

Make sure your major resist buff is always triggered by refreshing path and stay in it to get healed. That means that if you moved to dodge a red aoe, you have to reapply refreshing path right away.

Keep swallowing soul in both bars for the 8%heal and make sure to keep the buff active every 10 seconds.

Sap essence is your huge sustain (that's why it's usually called a saptank), so make sure to have siphoning attack up every 15 seconds and auto attack animation cancel into sap essence constantly.

You'll have an easier time the more trash mobs there are due to the nature of sap essence. Ultimately, a lot of NB will start to work once all your equipment are in place.
