Hi. I posted this Sonic Heroes TF2 crossover fan list yesterday. I've improved it since then.

Scout, Heavy and Medic make up Team Sonic. Scout moves fast like Sonic. Heavy's great strength makes him a match for Knuckles. Much like Tails, Medic likes to support his friends.

"Awh, that freakin' egghead tricked us!" - Scout when he falls for one of Eggman's traps
"Keep hiding inside robot, coward!" - Heavy when he sees Eggman
"<maniacal laughter> The best medicine!" - Medic after killing many of Eggman's robots

Sniper, Spy and Engineer would make up Team Chaotix. If you underestimate either of these odd bunches, you'll end up on the floor before you can reconsider. Spy uses stealth tactics like Espio. Sniper is like Vector, he's mellow and reliable. Engineer is Charmy, people wave him away as useless, only to get stung.
"Blood, I can clean out of my suit, but this?" - Spy in swamp levels
"Take a picture of ya head Eggman! It'll last longer than the actual one." - Sniper at first boss fight
"I'm no expert, but this thing might fly!... Actually, I am an expert. It can fly." - Engineer at the flower in Frog Forest

Demoman, Soldier and Pyro would be Team Dark. They are all destructive classes, who inflict grievous damage on anyone who gets in their way. Soldier is like Shadow because he moves quickly, and can destroy enemies in the blink of an eye. Demoman is like E-123 Omega, he views his enemies as obstacles instead of actual people. He kills them without forethought or remorse, fueled by his consumption of alcohol. Pyro is like Rouge (NOT because he's a girl) because he's a specialist, who prefers to use other techniques than fighting people upfront.

"Oh yeah! This airspace belongs to America!" - Soldier when him and his team fly through bonus rings

I just came back from not playing in almost a year and I have to ask. Why does the Team Fortress Team keep shitting on every fun weapon? I literally don't understand why they fuck any weapon with a slightly interesting gimmick or use into an unusable downgrade from stock.

If you have perfect aim it's theoretically better than stock. You can do 280 damage in less than two seconds from further than a meatshot. The way it reloads can fuck you over though.

So I'm playing Engineer and backpedaling away from an enemy Spy who has his knife out. This Spy who is directly in front of me is turning around and has his back shown to me and I hear the sound of his knife hitting me even though he's turning away from me. Then I killed him with my shotgun.

They're nerfed down to hell. Now Axting have 75% slower deploy penalty. Degreaser only adds 30% faster on switching away from it.

My biggest gripe is that Spy is now the everything-class. They have an answer to everything that was once supposed to counter them.

And it sucks. Spy is my favorite class now, but not for the reasons the class exists.

quite simply it varies from weapon to weapon
stock melee weapons usually are sub-optimal because classes never really use melee for damage, and unlockable melee weapons usually provide some kind of utility
stock primary weapons are usually the most consistent option for damage for most classes with a couple exceptions (tomislav and degreaser)
the secondary weapons are really just a tossup because some of them drastically change the class like gunboats or jarate and some of them are situational upgrades like the winger or the banners
secondary weapons are really just on a class by class game by game basis

when youre talking about banning weapons you have to think about what the end goal is
for some people what they have in mind is making the game as fun as possible
for others, it's making the game as close to public tf2 in a smaller scale setting as possible

what the current whitelist is going for is a kind of middle ground, where based on an already existing idea of "what 6v6 is and how it's played" the only weapons that are banned are weapons that have been shown to FUNDAMENTALLY change the game in a negative way. weapons that allow for smaller changes in playstyle, increase the speed or the game, or just plain arent good are allowed

if it were up to me, in a perfect world, valve simply wouldnt have added probably about a third of the weapons they added during tf2's heyday

to stop fucking around and answer your question in a straight up manner about the current whitelist, there are no weapons i strongly feel NEED to be banned. the closest thing is probably the rescue ranger because it can be frustrating and unintuitive to play around

as far as unbanning weapons, the solemn vow and darwins danger shield probably wouldnt make for a super huge difference in 6v6 (dds would fuck up highlander but highlander has its own problems already)

i think spy is in a good place in terms of strength
when you look at what he is, which is a pick class, the level of skill needed matched with the level of reward you get is pretty decent

spy will never be run full time in 6s, and thats a good thing. a class like spy shouldnt be strong enough in straight up engagements to be viable in a format that consists of a lot of head on fighting

an issue comes with spy when you compare him to sniper, because sniper is kind of absurdly powerful when you consider the role on a team he's supposed to fill

i havent played with it in 6s so i really cant tell you anything about how it would fit into that game

i still like using it in pubs though. the level of mobility it gives is a lot of fun, and if you use a kind of roaming "keep everyone on your team topped off and help people in fights" playstyle its actually pretty effecting

Is there any really viable map or mode to best run a 'Spy' Scout? Backscatter, BONK, and Atomic Swinger.

I've seen a lot of success using Bonk in Payload Frontier to fuck with minisentries and wreck havoc in the corridors, but I'm always wondering if slowing the opposing team for 5-8 seconds from reaching the train is doing as much good as I'd do just milking the crowds that come for the train and taking picks while returning back and forth to the train.
