I set myself up a sweet triple cave spider spawner farm. Mobs don't seem to be suffocating. Pretty sure they were doing so when I had them crammed in a different way (floating up on a 1x1 water source).

Is there a mod that implements thatching for early game ceilings? Preferably cut from tall grass like TFC's thatch blocks.
Vanilla's hay piles are "okay" but they're not great; you can't get a reasonable amount of them to make your first house since you'll need a very large number of them, plus you'd need to sacrifice materials that would be used to make food. Also their textures aren't optimal but that's nothing a couple of minutes in an image manipulation program wouldn't fix.

that's a good laugh
in reddit if you violate the community's invisible hivemind rules you get downvoted, your post gets buried at the bottom of the page and hidden, if it's bad enough you may even get banned from other subreddits automatically because your redditpoints are too low therefore you must be literally hitler: the poster
here you just get shatposted at and autistically screeched loudly at, neither of which come any close to the definition of "enforcing rules"

Does anyone know of a mod that lets you edit mob spawners in 1.7.10? I've looked into some already, but none of the ones I've found fit my needs (editing a mod's mob spawner to make the mob it spawns aggressive toward players and neutral toward mobs, and editing another mod's mob spawner so that it spawns that mob on more blocks than it currently does)

>>163967045
Yeah, I've tried two of those so far but neither of them worked. One only allowed editing the name of the mob spawner (I could do this in survival mode with an anvil if I wanted to), and the mob it spawns (NEI covers this.) The other one allows you to edit many, many more things, but only vanilla mobs (I need to edit modded ones) and, despite even letting you edit weird details like their velocity and which direction they face when they spawn, the mod creator didn't think to include options for "Aggressive toward: [players/mobs/players and mobs], Neutral toward: [etc.]"
>>
>>163967714
I don't know if editing AI is even possible.
Is it possible to get mobs modified through customNPCs to spawn through spawners?
That might work.
>>

yes. you make a custom NPC and get a spawner for that specific entity.

As someone who uses it on a daily basis, I strongly recommend using this in conjunction with it: https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/minetweaker-recipemaker

It has a convenient in-game interface that greatly speeds up your work. If you make a mistake (I had mouse double click issues that would submit the same recipe twice up until I bought a new mouse recently), go to your main directory > scripts > the only folder inside that one > the only folder inside that one too > Crafting.zs, edit it with any text editor, save the changes and, instead of restarting your entire server, just type /mt reload to update the changes immediately

What are coremods? I'm still pretty new to modded MC. Mods that change vanilla MC classes/functions?
>>
>>164009949
>>164010493
Okay, so let me explain briefly. Again.

Coremods are a special kind of mods which can register special code to modify the game's code, instead of just using Minecraft's and Forge's built-in interfaces/methods/etc.:

- Access Transformers, which let you make normally inaccessible fields and methods accessible to your code. (The same can be achieved with Java's built-in reflection, but slower; since Java 8, you can use MethodHandles, which, if used well, should have pretty decent performance);
- ASM Transformers, which let you modify the game's code arbitrarily by letting you modify and overwrite Java classes as they are loaded.

Now, nobody has a problem with the former; they are simple, well-supported by Forge and ForgeGradle, reasonably easy to create (especially in recent versions) and don't cause problems for other people. There's multiple issues with the latter, though, most of which amount to a total lack of accountability.

Since coremods take in a byte array with the file's contents and output another dump of the file, their modifications can be absolutely arbitrary. This means they can change any part of Minecraft or another mods' behaviour in any way. If done well, this is, of course, not a huge problem; however, if done poorly, it can have side effects such as breaking completely unrelated code in other mods or crashing the game. Since there's no accountability, and, even if you know what mods change what, roughly, the code changed might often not be directly related to the code affected, you end up having zero clues as to which coremod is causing the issues. This means we get witch hunts: coremods commonly known to cause issues are blamed for every single issue which seems slightly related - this is why many mods outright ban bug reports not reproduceable without, let's say, OptiFine, no matter whose fault it is.
>>
>>164010932
What are some mods that are coremods
>>
>>164010932
Thanks for the info.
>>
>>164011304
>>164010932

Historically, Forge has gravitated between arguing for a total wipe of coremods and general indifference. The problem has been very slightly mitigated by adding a list of loaded coremods to each crash report. However, that still doesn't solve accountability - it only makes the witch hunts easier.

The Fabric mod loader project tried to solve this problem by replacing arbitrary bytecode modification with a more limited, but well-defined API - Sponge's Mixin system. It covers most of the common use-cases, even if it isn't as powerful as being able to do literally anything, and it has the benefit of being designed to catch common coremod mistakes.

After Fabric died down, some of its members have tried to convince cpw to use the Mixin API as their planned coremod replacement. What will happen out of it, I'm not sure - however, many other Fabric ideas are also making it to Forge, discovered independently - possibly because many of them are simply natural evolutions and improvements.

Either way, I have it on good authority that coremods are unlikely to be removed completely. (I also have it on good authority that there are changes coming to the Minecraft engine - good changes! ones which will hopefully improve performance! - which will annoy modders a lot more than the removal of coremods ever did due to the amount of adaptation work required.)

>>164011110
Many mods bundle simple coremods because of the difficulty of getting things integrated into Forge itself (until recently, when the Forge team got a person dedicated solely to interacting with contributors - that is mezz).

I can't really think of a specific list, but you can always check in a recent crash report.

Reika's DragonAPI has a coremod that injects code into, not Minecraft's, but Forge's own code that manages the block ID mapping. It removes the special treatment Forge gives to IDs owned by Minecraft so that Reika can steal those IDs for himself.

It looked like he wanted to render flowerpots and redstone comparators in 3D when you are carrying them, but that part doesn't even work, so I'm at a loss as to what the real purpose is.

It's only one of the things DragonAPI's coremod does; it has a massive amount of hooks into the game. It's written so well that the FML block ID injection in particular requires you to install a special mod and load/save each DragonAPI-using world to fix the block ID mapping - just removing DragonAPI will corrupt block IDs on the world.

the problem overarching is that coremods generally exist because lex refuses to add the hooks for the functions those coremods' makers want to diddle with.

a loss of coremods is only a problem in the case of forge being the only relevant API, because of that.

a considerable array of coremods shouldn't exist, because the functions they're giving the modder(s) access to should already be made accessible through forge. (see: applecore and all the hunger related crap it lets people diddle with)

a considerable array of coremods should exist, because the functionality they're providing to their maker, while required to do what that person's mod wants to do, is not something that would be worthwhile to be available large-scale as part of the API because basically nobody else cares to do anything with it.

and then there are some coremods that shouldn't exist because they're just roundabout ways for the author to do shit their own way for no reason other than than ego, and in some cases (cough dragonAPI cough) make a giant fucking mess of shit in the process.

at days end it boils down to lex being a gigantic moron that's yanked forge so far off it's rails that there's no real hope for saving it.

>>
>>164030761
>the problem overarching is that coremods generally exist because lex refuses to add the hooks for the functions those coremods' makers want to diddle with.

Wrong. In many of these cases, Lex never even saw the hooks - modders just don't bother anymore because of very specifically his attitude towards contributors, which is why mezz handling the PRs instead of him is very welcome. Case in point - Lex has announced that he is willing to review a pull request for container events back in late 2013; to this day, nobody has submitted a single PR relevant to the matter, even though it's the single biggest API feature Bukkit had over Forge from a "server administration" point of view.

>>164033958
>what-ifs
No, just experience. Case in point: I remember when a certain mod author spent 6 hours debugging a bug in 1.7.10 which boiled down to a coremod change specific to CoFHCore - which wasn't present in his development environment, but - for obvious reasons - was present in just about every modpack.

Sure, then you can just write directly for the Launchwrapper - which lets you provide a "tweak class" with functionality very similar to coremods. Or you can write for Meddle. Both aren't going away any time soon, especially as the former is a part of Minecraft.

Anyhow, if we want to ensure modpacks can be created in the first place, we have to make some compromises - otherwise, why don't we all just go back to JAR modding, with all of the downsides of that era?
>>
>>164036007
>>164036346
Now, don't get me wrong, I know where you're coming from - it's more that I can't name a single modder who writes coremods for any other reason than that he has to, either because he doesn't want to pull request to Forge or because Forge doesn't want his idea or because he's doing something really crazy. Pretty much every modder out there will gladly welcome a less painful way to achieve the same things - and accountability/being able to easily see what exactly in the game's logic has been changed is very helpful for any sort of debugging, whether you're a modder, modpack dev or player. Being able to prevent the witch hunts is always nice.

Not that you need coremods to do terrible, breaking hacks to the game engine - FoamFix proves that well enough.

Have you ever written a coremod, by the way?

This is the problem with looking at people one-dimensionally, folks. Let me try to write something more fair and balanced:

There's nothing wrong with ChickenBones per se - he was just a mod developer, usually quietly working on his stuff. Sure, his code might've not been the best (NEI and FMP causing performance issues, and of course the ChickenChunks bugs), but we've all gotten a lot of enjoyment thanks to his work despite the bugs and flaws.

Why is it so hard to look at someone neutrally instead of forcing them into an "ENEMY" or "UNSUNG HERO" basket? (And, for that matter, why did I never leave /mcg/? It's very high on my list of "places which have sucked a lot of the enjoyment of Minecraft out from me")
>>

Are there any TFC packs that take you past basic industry and aren't uncurated trash? The few on the tfc forums are generally run by actual autists trying to cater to tiny niches and are never updated. Terrafirmapunk is run by a retarded furry that can barely string code together and manages to break everything in a fresh way ever patch, leaving the stupid twilight mobs out of it. Technofirma is ancient, but for whatever reason runs even worse than fucking TFP and seems to break with any tweaks or changes. Technodefirma is just Techno but with flowers and slightly more difficult progression, as far as I can tell, and it's hosted on wannabe FTB.

TFC serb pack seems neat, but doesn't really add a whole hell of a lot to baseline TFC.

Am I missing some or should I just join the gregtech meme?

stop. that's half the problem with you, you're ALWAYS trying to "stay neutral". that's why lex gets to walk all over you, because you "stay neutral". you don't have to be a rage machine calling everyone faggots left right and center, but develop some intestinal fortitude, jeez.

looking at people multidimensionally? it's somewhat of a bad joke to imply we can even percieve a hateful, obnoxious, egotistical tub of lard like lex with only one dimension.
the argument of looking at both the good and the bad of what someone does generally works better if their negative actions generally don't outweight the positive, and if their positive actions don't typically involve ripping someone off or basically having their boss hold a gun to their head.

and yes, I understand you were talking about fabric. I also felt the need to point out that while it's a thing that's got to go on (and will, with fabric) it is not a thing we can look in forge's direction with expectations of.

TFC is a solid base game design that severly lacks anything after that. If you try to add other mods, it just feels like grinding through TFC like you normally do, then starting other mods, but with a small twist in getting resources.

What TFC really needs in my opinion, is a proper overhaul (as if it isn't one already) to add more organized things upon it.
>tech
starts from mechanical power, later steam, electricity etc. but keeps its basic mechanical principles, for examplse having steam turbines and dynamos, but you still use the same mechanical framework to connect them
>actual hostility from mobs
there are some vanilla-ish ones and wild animals like bears, but you can just play for days withour running into one, there has to be a reason to build a proper shelter
>more rewarding exploration
you already need to explore for hours to get certain materials in order to progress, so why not make it more interesting? stuff like villages that can provide missing materials for a price, quests, even some integration with traincraft/railcraft would be good to help travel long distances

Of course, all of this needs to be tightly knit, otherwise it would be like what I said in the beginning, just a bunch of somewhat related mods shoved on TFC itself.

>looking at people multidimensionally? it's somewhat of a bad joke to imply we can even percieve a hateful, obnoxious, egotistical tub of lard like lex with only one dimension.
I've seen cases in which he behaves entirely civilly - and no, not just as damage control - and cases in which he behaves horrifyingly. My biggest criticism about his behaviour is honestly that he's massively biased against anyone who hasn't "earned his trust", so to say, and that he's not willing to acknowledge that people can be and were previously hurt by his words, even if he acknowledges the relations between Forge and the community must change (which he has been working on by bringing on mezz, as well as a second person who now handles the forums I believe? He knows that his direct involvement is not beneficial to the project, and has expressed it as far back as late 2014, but the trust issues prevented him from appointing anyone outside of his already overworked set of people he does trust). This is what most of the problems stem from. I've actually looked at his commits and checked what work he actually does. As I said, I have reasons to perceive him in such a way - and to separate his technical achievements from his unstable persona.

>and if their positive actions don't typically involve ripping someone off or basically having their boss hold a gun to their head.
Incorrect. Lex has no boss above him, and definitely not one who influences the amount of income he gets from Forge.

>it is not a thing we can look in forge's direction with expectations of.
Recent happenings have made me (and other people on the team) a bit more hopeful, but Fabric is always around as the failsafe plan, ready to be resurrected if need be - this is the decision we have made after discussing the recent announcements from the Forge team.
>>
>>164045372
>and that he's not willing to acknowledge that people can be and were previously hurt by his words

To elaborate: he justifies (excuses?) it by saying that "personal issues" and "code" should be kept separate by everyone just as he keeps it separate, even though (a) that's not how humans work and (b) that's not how volunteer, hobbyist contributions work.

This is a coremod written for a specific modpack. It's only used in that modpack, and is not part of GregTech.

What the code does is ensures that at least one of two listed "nerfs" are enabled (which is alright, I mean, it's their pack) and, if none of them is, crashes the game in a special way which prints an empty stacktrace and no reason for the crash so that you don't know what caused it or where it crashed (which is absolutely disgusting and should be condemned).
>>
>>164044637
>if hardcore darkness and locked gamma not true
>fucking crash the game
yeah yeah I see no problems with that at all seems totally reasonable. It'll even throw a crash if you have x-ray mods installed.
and why is this even under DrawBlockHighlight? Isn't that, y'know, when you look at anything and the game draws the bounding box around it? seems totally fucking reasonable to add this to the game. completely rational.
>>
>>164020351
Thaumcraft is not MAWPC garbage unless you're the sort of person who only plays TFC and GregTech.
>>
So, with a ton of mods, is there a simple way to find all conflicting biome/dimension ids, or do I have to go through all config files manually?
>>
>>164045776
People used to do this via calling System.exit(), which left no trace of the crash at all (as opposed to an empty crash report) and had a chance to corrupt things - after a few dramas, Forge decided to react and disable System.exit() altogether, emitting a large warning in the console every time someone tried to execute it instead of gracefully shutting down the game.

(Also, the code seems poorly written - getting two fields by name using reflection (instead of at the very least caching the Field objects) every *rendering* tick is going to take a non-zero amount of CPU time).
>>
>>164045894
there is a mod that will do all of that for you
google relevent words to find it
>>
>>164045792
>>164045950
Nevermind. Not every rendering tick - it crashes only the first time the game draws a block highlight (the outline around a block when you're looking at it) and immediately unregisters itself. This is presumably to conceal the code.

Technofirma does an alright job with this by way of immereng, but falls short hard with the mob difficulty. I've yet to find a mod that does mobs in general well, let alone one that wouldn't be bad for TFC. Closest I think I've ever seen would be a modified Lycanites that didn't look like vomit and didn't instagib you constantly, or force you to use it's shittily-implemented farming and grinding in order to get anywhere

Plus, the faggot behind TFC is busy making a more retarded version in the form of TFC2, which promises to fix none of the old issues, add some new ones, and is coming out 2238, with a gaymer gurl managing tfc in the meantime

if its crashing on start you're basically fucked and have to do it manually. you should get a line somewhere in the crash stacktrace that tells you whodunit and what ID it wants.

if you have Twilag Forest you have to change its biome IDs to something else because it conflicts with like 80% of mods that add biomes.

otherwise biomes you can use NEI's data dumps from inside the inventory which is under Options > Tools > Data Dump > Biomes, and then select if you want all Biome IDs dumped or just the used ones.

It's not just Twilight. I woke up to the issue from seeing AoA2 biomes in the overworld, and quickly found they overlapped with BoP ones. Now those no longer conflict, but several mods add biomes, and I need some way to make sure there's no overlap. The data dump lets me know which ids are available, but it doesn't tell me the biomes that got overwritten.

aight stupid question inbound

is that a limitation of Minecraft in how blocks and tile entities are programmed, or dependent on the implementation of the mod adding micro/multipart/whateverblocks?

to me, it seems pretty obvious that a TE should store what it's supposed to look like--say a stone slab on top and a wood slab on the bottom. and since its remembered somewhere--memory, NBT, whatever--it doesn't need to look for what it should look like in a chunk update, it already knows and renders the multi-part block.
that's probably really memory intensive in the x-hundreds of blocks but is it better than searching and mapping again?

Everyblock has an address formed by it's block ID and meta ID, in 1.8+ this is called a blockstate. When you create your block you set a static render type to that address. So when MC looks at the block world object all it does is look up the block address then what render type was assigned to it and adds it to the world mesh. This world mesh is a massive model formed up of all the blocks, it only changes this model when an update occurs like you breaking a block and looks at what block it needs to change, this is why if you have something spamming chunk updates your fps tanks because it has to recalculate the world mesh, every time.
In the instance of a tile entity we assign it's host block a render type of 0, telling MC to not render it. The magic happens when we instead tell the entity to render something, this is pretty much the same thing as monster and other entity renders, as it's independent and not part of the world mesh. The problem is that to render the tile entity now and be dynamic it has to check every tic, which involves looking up that slow mappings and running the render code again and so on.

I think that's more or less the gist of it. Why we don't use the same giant mesh for tile entities and update them only when needed like you mentioned? idk, probably too much work, although i think that's kind of what the new model system was trying to accomplish or address to an extent.
>>
>>164048882
port your mod to 1.10 already you lazy fat fuck
>>
>>164053661
Minecraft wasn't designed with tile entities in mind, blocks only needed metadata to store simple data for a y-axis rotation or a color (like for wool). So when you're storing thousands of blocks in memory and to the disk, it's pretty efficient. Notch was a clever bastard, and his system worked well.

Tile entities, which can store any amount of data, aren't efficient because you have to find them in memory for a particular block location. The more there are in a chunk, the longer it takes to find them, and the longer the tick and render time for a chunk.

Vanilla never needed many tile entities in Notch's day, so this was never a problem. Chests and furnaces were practically the only use back then. But modders, and then Mojang, started using a lot of them. Combine that with shit code and you have a recipe for lag.

Nothing significant was under constant rewrites by that time, mods were not as complex, forge was a community project made by modders...

>>

Forge wasn't a community project ever since SpaceToad and FlowerChild left, so, uh, 1.1. LexManos was the primary maintainer since May-June 2012, IIRC, too, and by 1.2.5 both him and cpw were involved in Forge.

Not even beta had 5 modders asie, its an exxagerated way to say the same thing, you could say nowadays there are 60pentillion cuccs like you but there are only 200 thousand of them. Which is also a really big number but saying 6000pentillion is ok when you dont have the exact or a close number.

Counting devteams working on (1) mod as (1) modder.

I'd say that if you count SSP mods, it's probably similar and if you don't, it's noticeably smaller, but I don't have hard data on this.

I feel that the problem with 1.9+ is not the "update churn", but rather the fact many modders are simply burnt out on Minecraft.

Mek is kinda fun to play around with because so many of its machines don't have configurable sides that you need to plan your setups a bit, also because the full 5x ore setup (and many other things as well) requires so many steps that you'll spend quite a while working on it, and even longer to make it look good. Sadly enough all that fun comes together with plenty of lag at the same time, especially on 1.7.10 because of Forge MultiBloat.

Given that you can pipe items on it and the items are divided between the three shelves, you can easily make an easy and not overpowered ME system to store random items that dont need storage drawers, being able to store 40k+ items in a 2x4x5 structure is great.

TFC serb modpack: https://www.dropbox.com/s/lxiz2ds6l4lez7j/TFC%20Serb.zip?dl=1
Note that what >>164042896 said about it is right though. At the time of writing, it adds the following to the game:

>Backend mods, mods that add nothing by themself but need to be used in conjunction with other mods, functional mods that the player can't directly access (like the hunger mod), etc:
18

>Mostly aesthetic mods:
3

>Purely aesthetic mods:
6

>Roughly 50/50 aesthetic/functional mods:
1

>Mostly or purely functional mods:
11

>Misc mods (LostBooks. Adds nothing aesthetically pleasing to the game, but doesn't add anything which serves a practical purpose either; just here for fun/lore):
1

and TFC itself. The only real tech mod on the server is buildcraft. There are other mods in the pack which have engineering mechanics in them, such as railcraft, but I didn't want automation, jetpacks, quarries, and so on to play a big role on the server. Thanks to minetweaker, I was able to bring buildcraft's item access down to a level that I think is reasonable for the serb. As time goes by, I'll probably continue to accept suggestions when it comes to engineering mods, so long as they don't turn players into gods

>What I'm working on right now
Getting the hunger and thirst rates just right. I've almost got it, but changing one rate affects both of them and they don't scale in a way that makes sense. (For example, setting hunger to .32 and thirst to .38 makes hunger decrease at almost 50% the rate of thirst. Changing these rates to .33 and .40 seems to have no impact whatsoever. Same with .34 and .43 so far, but I might be wrong; I need to wait a little longer to find out for sure.) The good news is that it's only a matter of time until this works out

TL;DR You might like it, but only if you're okay with a lack of tech and a lack of things to do in single player due to all the configuring you'd need to do to add content, tweak recipes, and so on. (The serb covers that)

From my point of view, this is like looking at a checklist of things I might need to focus on for the TFC serb

>Tech on the serb
. The only true tech mod I've added so far is buildcraft, but you could stretch this a bit by making an argument for mods like railcraft
>If anyone has suggestions for similar low- to mid-tier tech mods I should consider adding, let me know

>Mob hostility/There has to be a reason to build a proper shelter
. I installed Epic Siege Mod on the serb for a few hours while everyone was asleep. After configuring the main file, I made it somewhat reasonable, but I never found a way to A: disable vanilla mob spawns (important), and B: transfer all of the mechanics added by ESM from MC mobs onto their TFC counterparts (equally important.) Unfortunately, I don't think the latter is even possible. I looked into another mod called Custom NPCs, but there was a large disclaimer saying to run your world in 1.6 at least once or else you'd end up losing items and blocks in 1.7, so I never installed and tested it. I recently installed a mod called Mob Properties which will almost certainly work, but it also seems like a pain in the ass to configure. Check this out to see what I mean: http://fathertoast.wikia.com/wiki/Mob_Properties

>More rewarding exploration
. This (and more aesthetic options building) has been my main focus since I started adding mods. Configuring and balancing everything for the upcoming mazes has taken top priority over the past couple of weeks. It's been easy in terms of figuring out what to do and how to do it, but very time consuming, more than expected. So far, 4 non-maze structures exist which address the very problems you mentioned. 2 variations of mazes will do the same in the near future. When it comes to long distance travel, I recommend teleporters and railcraft. Once mazes come out, I'd be willing to change this rating to a solid

It is in human nature to have a need for challenge. If you reach your goal too easily, it won't be satisfying.

I'm not really interested in exactly recreating things in Minecraft. Most ideas in the community are already derivative enough:

A while back I did start on creating an adventure/exploration map of my own, containing mazes, puzzles, traps, etc... But most of it is still on paper because it can take up whole weekends to get anything finished. (pic related)

Stop using complexity for the sake of complexity. One thing I learned long ago, and something that makes Noodlor's builds so a e s t h e t i c is the simplicity. Choose color palettes that go well together, keep it simple, and avoid patterns of alternating colors. Even an autism box can be nice if its well structured.

Also its been ages since Ive used vanilla RP, use pixel perfection, it will make all your builds look 33.33333% better. I make recolors of most mod textures that look jarring. Some say its a crutch, I say vanilla is a handicap.

Fuck it, if nothing else it seems stable and buildcraft adds a fair bit of tech, even stripped down I bet. I'll definitely give it a shot and try the serb, serbman. Thanks for putting in the work where other autists have failed.

If I can make suggestions, I'd like to propose Immersive Engineering, as it's good at making the player work for their shit, as well as build proper infrastructure for anything to work.

Alongside that, Ships Mod by Cuchaz is a surprisingly good mod for transport that isn't too bad theme-wise because you can configure the various blocks to be costly, while the sheer amount of lumber and wool needed to make the damn things move makes even mid-small sized ships significant investments, while adding a nice physics system that takes buoyancy and weight into account when sailing. Dunno what it'd be like to configure, or what the serb impact would be on performance, but shit's pretty lit fampai.

In the first snapshots with the json system, it used to be that people would be able to make models as complex as they could, provided they were autistic enough to do the math. Then, for whatever reason, Dinnerbone decided it would be better to just have it only make cuboid models and snap it to angles at 22.5 degree intervals.

looks good in the middle of a vast desert and has a chance to spawn with regen water instead of regular water if you're running a pre-1.8 version
>quagmire
very nice source of mud if you're planning on using mud bricks, but a pain to navigate because mud slows you down
>scrubland
ugly and generic as shit
>meadow forest and spruce woods
pointless since spruce already spawns in sickening amounts thanks to the millions of variations of taiga biomes that inevitably spawn every other biome
>mangrove
neat and so does its trees' white wood
>glacier
snow biomes are cancer but it spawns hardened ice under the surface which can be useful for building i guess
>canyon ravine
sometimes generates some very impressive terrain
>seasonal forest clearing
shit, seasonal forests look like shit but have unique trees to make up for it, clearing has zero trees

how about you shut the fuck up nigger and stop offering the steaming diarrhea that is your opinion even though you have no idea what you're talking about?
not only does pregenerating terrain ahead of time prevent that shit terrain generation code from memory leaking and slowing your pc down to a crawl even faster than actual malware during regular play (even fastcraft isn't enough to stop the leaking) it's also a good idea to render a sizeable map of your world ahead of time at the very least to see if you don't get a trash world filled with nothing but cold biomes, taigas or oceans before you've wasted too much time into it

And then he spends like 20 minutes after that looking at carpeting. The thing that really gets me about Psi is that he at first tried getting people into it, trying to figure out the mechanics on-camera so people could follow along, but the mandatory tutorial was nothing but WORDSWORDSWORDS and dragged on and on and on to the point where he just went "fuck it, I'm at endgame for this mod and now have a god-tool, what-fucking-ever." Heres my attempt at messing with steam and BC pipes. The drawer has a massive amount of coal which when the switch is pulled draws some coal into the ovens but havent made a looped system to return the coal to the drawers so Im using inversed hoppers and chests to catch both the coke and the coal. The upper part is also kinda simple too, when the switch is pulled the electricity passes by the extraction pipes and sends it to the tank which transfers them into some fireboxes that produce steam transferred into a Magneticraft generator which provides electricity thats transformed into rf. I think my level of autism increased.
>>
>>164147021
Etho has autistically played (especially vanilla) Minecraft for 5 or so years now so it's understandable he's no longer interested in grinding. Only problem is that it doesn't make for an interesting series. Which reminds me. Someone said that Etho said he quit TFC because it felt like he was grinding endlessly toward nothing, or something like that.

I think Etho is getting bored of Minecraft in general (if he didn't years ago) but he's making so much money from youtube it wouldn't make sense to quit.
