Good news, railcraft is the first major mod I ever added to the server. There's a long distance rail system on the serb leading to about 5-ish different biomes for players who don't like the one they start off in, and to help players spread out over larger distances to help them collect resources without depleting them in one central area, play like hermits if they want to, and so on

Well Railcraft has more functions like some coke ovens, steam, nice decoration blocks and such so you dont even have to mess with rail stuff.... unless you are trying to mess with Traincraft, limit yourself a purpose for the trains like treefarm and quarry far from the base so you dont have those problems.

It is a bit of a pain to update but it's not like you have to do it regularly. Seems like such a non-issue.

I don't really care about the personal details about the modder. If he can make the mod good regardless of his age, it doesn't matter. A good mod is a good mod.

Keep in mind that Project: Red, until the 1.6.2 FMP rewrite, was a fork of RedLogic without honoring immibis's license. This can be verified easily by comparing the source code trees. This has also never been truly addressed, primarily because immibis himself doesn't really care.

If that doesn't make you drop everything to replace the mod, then you should just uninstall Minecraft and invest in a noose.

Also, RedLogic allows you to program your own circuits and turn them into a single block, as if the wiring were done in a pocket dimension within that block. Don't remember if Project Red does that, but it's probably my favorite feature.

With BuildCraft, you can install just Core+Transport and disable non-power pipes (though you need the item variants to craft them).

A friend, marcin212 has worked on porting that to 1.10 with mezz, but he doesn't have much time anymore; he's been trying to get me to help out, especially with the patterned blocks as I know how to work with 1.8+ rendering fairly well, but I am too busy with other projects. Sorry.

This is a recurring problem with modding in general. I just wish the base game had a better "tech tree" system so that OP features that encourage laziness and lack of creativity were pushed back further along the progress of the game so that you'll still build with challenges imposed on you but then sometime later appreciate having higher tier features that change things up a bit.

1st floor - Sorting and Storage. Everything put into that IE crate get's put either the autism wall in the back or into one of the chests via Ender IO conduits and mod filters.

2nd floor - Grinding, Smelting and Ender Chest depot. Have things jiggered so I can just plug an IE crate full of shit onto the back of most of the grinders/smelters and just let it go crazy. Everything gets filtered into the storage drawers on the 1st floor. Ender Chest also feeds into drawer and mod-specific chests.

I was looking at vanilla using like 200mb passively, and then my instance using 1.5gb and I thought something had gone horribly wrong.

Are there any good mods for making aesthetic farms? Maybe ones that require alternative methods of growing the crops rather than just tilling the soil and dropping the seeds, like needing to make rice fields, or trellises for climbing vines or stuff like that?

there are the farming aesthetic mods I think, there isn't much specifically for what you want.
Growthcraft has some sort of alternate farming methods.
Forestry has automated farms that aren't just you're standard bog down a thing and forget about it, they're funish.

Plus while the mod has excellent memory usage, its not perfect, and since I'm sometimes creating entire hulls of 100 block long ships out of these blocks, Plus, assuming Valkyrian Warfare ever gets to a more stable point, I'd like my ships to actually fly, and so far C&B doesn't work with VW.

PLUS its such a simple thing, I just can't beleive it doesn't exist.

there's a massive, MASSIVE network of tunnels, mostly from other underground rivers branching off from their origin points to join the main body of the river, plenty of ores on the walls (except under the Canyon, fucking colored clay preventing ore generation), even a fucking dungeon on one of the walls
the river starts off in the Highland biome, then goes into a Canyon, then suddenly turns around, heads back back into the Highland biome and finally ends at a Bog biome on the other side of the Canyon biome

personally I think that's a good thing because it's a piece of shit that eats up your resources when you shift-click out of it.
you can of course make IE's bullet's craftable on a regular table, or any other mod.

Looking at minetweaking the Reliquary handgun to be a bit more in line with the Immersive Engineering Revolver, and also give a bit more use to the Cogs of the Machine brass springs (seriously those things are only used in two recopies)

Origin Valley is a meme biome, no purpose other than to make you high on nostalgia. The neon green grass we used to know and love look so extremely out of place in next to the other biomes. Trash it.
Kill Mega Taiga and TaigaHills just because more taigas are the fucking last thing you need. My world were just about half made up of the million Taiga variations present in vanilla alone when I was fucking around with BoP, although I might've just been unlucky. For like five worlds in a row, but still.

The rest are mostly up to personal taste and depend on your taste in biomes. You should probably look at the BoP wiki to see example screenshots, maybe generate a few worlds, and then disable the ones you don't like that much:

Its actually the same design as the dried lake bed almost, just the cracks are filled with water and soul sand (mud). I kind of hate the idea of chorus fruit, both its effect and that a growable crop gets crafted into a ?stone? block out of popcorn basically... I just hate it. But I like how the chorus plant grows.

Well, Climate Control actually lets you import biome divisions from an image file. IIRC, the CC github goes over how to essentially "draw" your world map and then tell CC to plug in biomes for each separate color.

I realize this may not interest you at all, but if you did figure out the CC markup you could configure each one of your biomes to generate in your prefered area.

Sorry. I was at work. A 20 Chunk World that has caverns underneath, a mix of lava and snow on the surface, and still has room for expansion upward to the limit. The hard part here is that I need it to use dirt, lava, and snow blocks. There can be no actual ice (that can melt) or Obsidian, wool, clay, etc. Also no ores, although thats easier than including the ores.

You can disable them in the configs, the guns are well made and also has some fine ass armors (you can customize them with the camo machine) and dont forget about the 32x textures that some anon will (never) port to 16x. Overall is great plus also it has modular turrets that are customizable giving you the option to change the gun and change the armor plate but suck a lot of rf/t and the only downgrade I have found is a crash when I die but its maybe part of my bloatpack, just try it.

I'm pretty satisfied with how the visual guides look now, fake blocks surrounded by pulsing outlines.

How should I set up notifications for your shadows though?
Right now I have it set to display a hud element with a vague description of it's condition and how far away it is in the upper left corner.
I'll probably only have it pop up if you're sneaking around but I'm not sure if it should include exact details or if something even more indirect like icons would be better.
What are your guy's thoughts about that?

The Primary difference between storage drawers and JABBA is 2 things.

First is the hella convenient compacting drawer which makes it possible to draw ingots/blocks/bits whenever the fuck you want.

Second is the Master Control block which when combined with Slave blocks, can be used to instantly dump inventories and they go where you want. all you have to do is pipe the stuff to the block. You can also call items from the same blocks.

But my other tower is A FUCKING TUBE and seemed fine to me.
My plan was to build 4 towers on the mountain peaks nearby surrounding the lake, the have a floating island in the middle over the lake between the towers.

I should never have tried to build aboveground ans just stuck to dwarven hovels, this was a yuuuuge mistake.

But thanks for the advice I guess, I decided I'll downsize the fuck out of it to the bare minimum space to fit an energized node, a thaumcraft vat and a furnace on the first 3 floors and then have the rest be decorative (I was going to build all of the 4 towers to reach y 198 so I can like them to the floating island with some chains or something and have it look less awkward).
