If you pick up muv-luv, make sure to get the restoration patch for it. Extra is fucking awful without it.
Also Tomoyo After is probably the only H > All-ages release I can even come close to recommending. I definitely feel it should have kept the bad ending scene because it did actually add to the story and characters, but the other cut scenes were pretty much there for fan service and didn't contribute much to the emotional growth because they all happened in the first 20-30 minutes. The all-ages release also does a (slightly) better job with the ending which is arguably the most important part of the entire vn and without it, wouldn't have anywhere near the emotional impact that it does.

Spice and Wolf is frankly one of a kind. It has tons of brainy economics with period-appropriate politics mixed seamlessly in with some of the best character-centric drama you'll see out of Japan for a long time.

Surrounded by big fat melodramas where character melodrama tends to circulate around little shit like holding hands and where big damn kisses are saved for major culminating climaxes, or where sex is thrown around willy nilly and casually, Spice and Wolf manages to keep an escalating, simmering romance going throughout its entire length, where both characters are perfectly aware of their deepening relationship and are able to maturely deal with it, even mock each other about it.

My biggest fear is that his foray into a sequel with their kid is going to lose all the magic that the Lawrence/Holo duo had.
