You "choose" out of the nodes you get. Go for your hyper skill, bossing skill, and main attack skill in one node, or two of those and 1 junk skill. Try not to use one with just one good skill unless you're just starting out.
Also, level up to get more spaces. Every 6 levels after 200 will grant you one more slot. Post screenshots or something if you have specific questions

The first 5th job AB skill is more useful for survival than it is for damage. It's a free 10s of invincibility which is really useful for any late-game boss if you get fucked by Trinity's long as shit animation delay or you made a bad choice in positioning. The second one is more damage-centered but the CD is too long for it, the spotlight focus is unreliable and the final damage bonuses are pretty lackluster. Don't bother leveling the first one up, but leveling the second one is fairly mandatory.

I've got a couple quick questions about nodes:

If I feed a level 3 one to a level 1 node, will it boost that level 1 up or will it be just like feeding it a regular node?

Say I had 2 nodes to pick from to level. 1 has my 1v1 skill and the 2 skills I occasionally use to get my damage back (Divine Charge, Blast, Lightning Charge). The other is more straight DPS focused (Final Attack, Blast (1v1 skill), Divine Charge (main mobbing skill). Which of these 2 are better to focus on?

Is there any difference between blunt/axe vs sword for heroes and pallys? I remember a long time ago stabbing and slashing was a thing that made you do different damage. Fafnir 2h sword cost a lot more than the other weapons

generally its heroes want 1h sword, pallies 1h blunt, since a shield + 1h sword is better than 2h sword. 2h is for dawn warrior and kaiser i think, not sure about dw
